Chapter 21:Mafia’s possession
Jacqueline felt her heart beat rapidly and when he finally threw the door open, she felt like collapsing. She was lucky she wasn't a heart patient else she would have been dead by now.
The sound of his shoes padding on the floor filled her eardrums and she didn't know how long she could stop herself from passing out. She held her hands close to her chest as she backed the rack. She thought he had exhausted himself and gone back to bed but she had forgotten it was Alexander Vladimir she was talking about. He derived pleasure from things like these and she's sure he could play this game from eternity.
She held her breath when she heard his footsteps getting closer to where she was and she almost began crying. When she thought he was finally going to find her, she heard the sound of his retreating footsteps and she heard the door close afterwards.
Jacqueline released the breath she had been holding in and she was sure she would need an oxygen mask. She calmed herself down and she stepped out from the place she was hiding in.
Her heart almost came out of her mouth when she saw Alexander standing right in front of her. His hands were tucked in his pocket and his hair covered part of his face, making him look like the devil he was.
His metallic gray eyes pierced into hers, and Jacqueline felt like he was luring her into his dark abyss. She took nervous steps backward, she knew he had told her not to run but she couldn't help it. She was terrified of the being in front of her. She knew she couldn't run nor hide from him, but there was no other option.
Just like she had expected, he matched every step she took backwards and she gasped when she felt her back come in contact with the wall.
He easily cornered her against the wall, trapping her there. One of his hands snaked around her tiny waist and the other, caged her between himself and the wall.
Cold sweat rolled down her back as her mind registered the feeling of Alexander's hands on her waist. His grip was so firm that she knew even though she struggled for eternity, she would never be able to break free from his grip.
"Tell me what you want, Jacqueline," he said, his hot breath fanning her neck. The dim lights cast a shadow on him, making him look like the predator he was.
"What I want is to drag you to hell where people like you belong," she seethed.
He let out a raw, deep chuckle that had her insides twisting.
"And you think you'll leave hell after dragging me there? Interesting," Alexander chuckled. "I'll make sure you won't get out of there. I'll make sure you have nowhere else to run but my arms. My name will be the only thing you can pronounce because it will be the only thing you can think about, and when that happens, you'll be completely mine, Jacqueline," he said sinisterly.
Jacqueline's heart raced madly as her head processed his words. Was he drunk or hallucinating? How could he just say things like that to her?
"Let..let go of me" Jacqueline said, she tried so hard to get her head together after Alexander had effortlessly spewed those words.
"Did you forget you lost? Hmm Jacqueline?" Alexander asked huskily as he gently caressed her waist. Jacqueline's cheek turned bright red and her body instantly felt like they've been set aflame. She had never felt anything like that before and she feared this man even more for creating such feeling within her, was there really no escape from him?
"I'll accept whatever punishment you give me but please…let me go, Mr Vladimir" Jacqueline pleaded and she didn't see how his face contoured in displeasure because of the faint light in the room.
Alexander ran his tongue through his teeth. There she was again, always finding ways to escape from his grasp but that was the fun part though. He was more than thrilled to know how long she could resist him. He wanted to see her crumble before him till that little fire within her eventually extinguishes.
"What if this is your punishment? Did you think about that?" Alexander asked and he retracted his hand from her waist. "But then again, I'm not that nice. I'll be asking for something way bigger than that, so get ready Jacqueline" Alexander said.
"I…I'm tired" Jacqueline said weakly, she felt faint and she's sure she would pass out if she didn't escape from his presence anytime soon.
"Get some rest Jacqueline, you'll need all the strength you can get" Alexander said and he took three steps backwards.
Jacqueline nodded and she walked as far away from him as possible, she headed for the door and she turned the door handle but the door didn't open. She tried several times but the end result was the same.
"Mr Vladimir" Jacqueline called but there was no response from him, wasn't he in the library with her? And why the hell was the door locked?
The dim lights in the room suddenly went off and the thought of her being in hallucination all this while, made her scared. She sat on the bare floor as her back pressed against the door frame. That was right, Alexander had never found her in the library. She had been hiding in fear for so long that she had hallucinated a bit.
She hugged her knees in fear as she was left only in the huge dark library. Cold sweat rolled down her back as she heard footsteps approaching her. She felt the person stand in front of her and she felt his hands wrap around her neck firmly. She began gasping for breath and even her pleas and cries weren't enough for the person to let her go. She began feeling dizzy and eventually, she succumbed to the darkness.
