Chapter 7

Jacqueline's heart raced on hearing his words and the memory of how he had told her to marry him flashed in her mind. She knew she was hot but it had been barely 5 days since she started working here and now he was going to tell her he loved her? Men! They were all fuckin the same but she vividly remembered how she had thought Alexander was just like the other men she had encountered, but then he had left her gobsmacked by commanding her that day at the hotel room.

"Huh…?" Jacqueline muttered, making him pull away from her.

"Are you slow witted or something?" Alexander scoffed and Jacqueline fisted her palms so hard that her knuckles began turning white.

"I want you to clean my room and don't go through my stuff like you did the last time" Alexander said and he walked away.

Jacqueline's eyes widened as cold sweat ran down her back, how on earth did he find out that she had gone through his stuff? Fuck! This means he might be suspecting her already.

Chain had told her Alexander was smart, if she made another mistake then she was as good as dead.

Jacqueline took some cleaning equipment and then she headed for Alexander's room. Getting there, her eyes narrowed when it took in the clean and spotless room. Everything was properly arranged and placed in order.

She stared at the black themed room where everything was either black or gray and very few were red. If Alexander ended up being a vampire, Jacqueline was certain she wouldn't be surprised, not even a bit.

Jacqueline sighed and she began sweeping the floors, even though it was spotless. Afterwards, she cleaned the furniture and Jacqueline began wondering if there might be hidden CCTVs in the room. It was possible, that's probably how Alexander found out she had been snooping around.

When he had told her about it, she had expected him to bombard her with multiple questions about why she was searching his things but he didn't. Jacqueline sighed, she picked up her things and she left the room.

She met Penelope on her way to her room and she quickly approached her.

"Granny Penelope" Jacqueline called with a bright smile and the woman smiled back at her.

"Yes, Jacqueline," Penelope said.

"I didn't bother asking at first because somewhere deep down, I knew I would still get a good pay but what's my salary?" Jacqueline asked.

She had been so focused on Chain's instructions that she forgot she was actually working for Alexander and she's supposed to get paid.

Penelope had a thoughtful expression on her face as she tried to remember, "It's $500,000 per month" She said and Jacqueline's jaw dropped.

"Huh?" She said in disbelief, that was like half a million dollars per month. When she had taken Chain's deal, she hadn't thought about the pay Alexander Vladimir would pay her. Who knew she would be paid so well?

"Actually, Alexander adds like $300,000 if he's impressed with your work. You don't have to worry about that dear, you'll be paid well" Penelope said but Jacqueline could barely hear what she was saying as she kept thinking about the money Alexander and Chain were going to pay her.

"Thank you Granny, I should head for my room" Jacqueline said and Penelope nodded.

Jacqueline got to her room and she picked up her phone and dialed Ariel's number, it was actually a video call.

Ariel answered the call and she cheerfully waved Jacqueline from the screen.
"Hi girl" Ariel smiled cheerfully.

"Ariel, how're you doing? I miss you both so fuckin much" Jacqueline said.

"I'm fine, Jennie is fine too and we miss you like crazy. You don't have to worry, I'm making sure Jennie goes for checkups at the hospital at least 4 times a week" Ariel said and Jacqueline smiled at her.

Both friends continued to converse with each other for hours as they could never get bored with each other.

Night time came and Jacqueline sat on the chair which was in front of the mirror. Penelope had told her that Alexander had gone for a trip which would last a week and she couldn't be more glad. Although she intends to keep an eye on him, the farther he was from her, the more stable her mental health would be.

Jacqueline stood up from the chair and she left her room, she began walking around the house but the fear from the wolf incident hit her hard. Funny how she had forgotten to ask Penelope about it.

Jacqueline stirred clear from the back door which led to the outdoor garden where the wolves could be patrolling again.

Her feet padded across the floor and she got to another door in the mansion. She only knew of the front door and then the back door, she wondered where that door led to.

She pushed the door open and her curiosity led her through the dark passages. Although she was a bit scared, she had to remind herself that it was her mission and she had to get more information for Chain.

She walked past the corridor and her eyes widened when her eyes fell on the sparkling and magnificent pool in front of her.

The pool was outside the house, there was a lounge at the far end of the place and the place was securely fenced and so she didn't have to worry about being attacked by those killer wolves.

Jacqueline felt the pool calling her just like the way the ocean had called Moana. What was going to go wrong? Alexander was far away from the mansion and there's no way he's going to find out she took a deep in his pool. Penelope was fast asleep in her room and if she caught her here, she wouldn't try to make a fuss over it. Hence, she was free and safe to swim in the pool.

With that, Jacqueline began taking off her gown and it pooled at her feet. She was left in her bra and her pants and she expertly dived into the pool, she's actually a strong swimmer.

The pool was large enough to serve for an Olympic competition. She swam back and forth and the cold water relaxed her nerves. Yep! That was what life would be like once she got the hellish job done with. She would buy a house with a swimming pool in it.

She stood in the pool as she tried to pack her hair so it wouldn't disturb her anymore and that was when she felt the water start to waver like there was a creature inside. Jacqueline's eyes widened fearfully.

Alexander had a wild wolf roaming about freely in his house, it was possible for him to have a large octopus in there too.

Jacqueline quickly got over the shock and she was about to turn back and get out of the water when she saw a figure emerging from the pool, leaving her mouth wide open.

He emerged from the water and his black silky hair stuck to his face, Alexander! He pushed his hair backwards with one hand and his muscles clenched as he did. Now that he was shirtless, Jacqueline could see his broad and well chiseled chest glaring at her along with his insane ink tattoos.

Jacqueline's eyes widened more, why on earth was he here? His eyes trailed down her body and that was when she remembered she was in just her pants and bra. Jacqueline's hands flew to her bosom and she prayed for the earth to just swallow her.
