Chapter 149

It's been two weeks after they relocated back to Italy, Jacqueline never saw Alessandro after he left that day. She had been busy getting trained into living as the daughter of the mafia king and queen.

Jacqueline was assigned with maids who did everything for her. She found it uncomfortable and always complained to Jennie who was also being given the same treatment but Jennie had no problem with it as she found it amusing and interesting. She loved the fact that she could call on a maid and many would appear like she sees in movies.

Having a meal in the house was like having a feast, in their huge mansion where many maids dwell and many cars live.

The dining table would always be filled with different species of food as Jacqueline always finds it hard eating just two but Jennie who always wanted to taste everything on the table even if it was just a spoon always refrained herself because of the presence of Luciano and Cecilia.

Her bedroom was large, harboring everything a lady could ever want, Jennie's room was also just like hers, the maids assigned to Jacqueline actually didn't want her to do anything as they always wanted to do everything for her including her bath but Jacqueline wouldn't let them. That made the maids like her, she was not always overloading them with work and she didn't treat them as maids all the time. Only when she needed them to do something so important. That's when she gets help from them.

Jacqueline was always made to go shopping almost every day as they wanted to make it up to her for what they've lost, the times they should have been there for her when they weren't. When they should have bought her Christmas dresses every December and should have taken her to watch Halloween movies.

Jacqueline always found it tiring from the onset. Jennie found it interesting and cool at first but when it looked like her room was becoming the definition of a queen who didn't lack one material stuff. She later found it boring when she realized that she had nothing to buy anymore. She had bought the things on her wish list for the next year.

One of Jacqueline's assigned maids walked in and told her about her mother wanting to see her. Jacqueline wondered what it was about and she really hoped it wasn't what she was thinking.

She stood up from where she was sitting and headed out of the room, making her way to her mother's room.

She gently pushed the door open and there was her mother sitting in front of the large mirror, cleansing her face.

“Darling, wanna go on a shopping spree with momma?” Cecilia asked and Jacqueline sighed.

She had predicted it to be the reason why she had called her. She knew her mother was surely going to tell her about shopping.

“No mom, there doesn't need to be a shopping spree today” I said, getting her mind off the shopping process.

“Darling, all I wanted to do was to go on with you and help pick some suitable dresses, you might like and I might need” she said, dropping the tissues she was using in cleaning her face.

“No. It's okay,  Mom. You don't have to” Jacqueline said, trying to dismiss the thoughts from her mother's thoughts.

“Then you go alone,” Cecilia said, handing a black card to Jacqueline.

Jacqueline left her room not wanting to argue as she knew she wouldn't be able to win against her if she had tried to object.

Jacqueline walked to Jennie's room shoving the card to her face, looking for signs of excitement of wanting to go shopping but Jennie wasn't excited.

“Going shopping again?” She asked and I nodded sadly.

“Well. I don't have anything to go shopping for. So miss Jacqueline. You will have to go alone” Jennie said and Jacqueline glared at her before walking out of the room.

“I would be going with the maid!” Jacqueline yelled after her.

She went shopping to do her mom's bidding as guards followed after her just because she was leaving the mansion.

Jacqueline did her shopping and got everything she needed and the ones she thought her mother could have asked for.

She paid at the counter with the card as she handed the box of goods to the maid that came with her and then they walked out. But as soon as she walked out of the mall, her eyes caught something familiar.

Alessandro! He was standing like he had been waiting for her and truthfully, Jacqueline didn't want to hide anymore. She wanted to meet up with him and clear everything. She wanted to apologise for everything even if they will never get back together.

She walked up to him with confidence evident in her walks. She stopped right in front of him and exchanged quick greetings which Alessandro gave no response to.

“I know I deserve to be punished for what I have done, I know I could have trusted you back then but didn't, I'm sorry, Alessandro” Jacqueline said, her voice laced with concern and sincerity.

“I'm really sorry for lying and deceiving you, it wasn't my intention at first but then, I couldn't stop” Jacqueline further explained.

“I would have gladly accepted any punishment you might have had for me, if that could make it up to you” Jacqueline added.

“The only punishment that you could ever deserve was to be with me, the only punishment I have for you is to come back to me” Alessandro said and Jacqueline wondered if she heard right as her eyes widened a bit.

“What???....do…” Jacqueline stuttered wanting to ask a question but it looked like the right words weren't coming.

Alessandro, who was waiting for what she wanted to say, grabbed her waist to himself when he saw that she wasn't able to utter a word.

He sealed his lips with hers, pulling her into a moment she had missed, a moment she always loved, a heartwarming kiss.
