Chapter 9
"Yes, I do" Jacqueline said and she felt the sudden urge to cut her tongue and throw them away for saying such despicable words. Her cheeks turned even redder, she badly wanted to bury herself in the water but Alexander wouldn't let her.
"Splendid," Alexander said with an amused expression.
Jacqueline stared at him and she wondered if he was dropped on the floor as a baby, was that why he had more than 5 screws loose in his head? She began feeling dizzy as the problematic situation turned even more worse, now Alexander thinks she had a crush on him but that was very far from the truth, she despised him so fuckin much that if the gates of hell flew open, she wouldn't hesitate to push him inside.
"Don't feel shy, it's nothing to be ashamed of. You aren't the first, 5 more maids who worked for me before you also developed feelings for me" Alexander said with an air of arrogance.
Jacqueline wanted to hit her head on the wall, which girl in her right mind would fall for this nutjob!? Certainly those 5 girls were mentally unstable to have fallen in love with him. Right now, she just wanted to get as far away from him as possible before he infects her with his madness, it might be contagious.
"What happened to them…the maids who worked here before me?" Jacqueline asked curiously.
"They came near this pool, they just slipped and fell inside, never to be seen again" Alexander said seriously with no hint of humor in his eyes and it made Jacqueline wonder if he was telling the truth.
"That's…impossible" Jacqueline muttered but he heard it loud and clear. It was possible that this psychopath had pushed them into the water. Jacqueline almost swayed and lost her balance but she was able to stand still by some miracle.
"Seriously, they jumped into the pool and they were never to be seen again" Alexander's eyes hardened as he said those words making goosebumps form on Jacqueline's skin.
"And you never dived in to save them or something?" Jacqueline asked as she glared at him for his lack of humanity.
Alexander shrugged, "I guess I never cared about doing so but that's why I'm here now, to rescue them" he smirked sinisterly.
Jacqueline's eyes widened, he had gone nuts and he was going to infect her with his madness.
"What's the use now? They must have died ages ago, what's the use now!!?" Jacqueline asked in a high pitched voice, she was slowly losing it.
"Granny Penelope intends to plant some new flowers in the garden and their bodies will serve as the perfect manure, don't you think so Jacqueline?" He asked as he caressed her hair.
Jacqueline was tongue-tied and she stared at him speechlessly like he had lost his mind, well he had! Was he lying? She hoped he was, she would definitely ask granny Penelope about it because she was obviously the only sane person in the mansion.
"If this is your way of scaring or threatening me, then you don't have to worry. My feelings for you have…evaporated into thin air, I no longer have feelings for you so please let me go now" Jacqueline said while staring into his gray eyes and she hoped he would let her go now.
"What a smart little girl you are" he said with a smirk on his lips as he patted her hair like she was his pet dog. "You can leave if you want, I'm not holding you" Alexander said and he withdrew his hand from the side of her head.
Jacqueline parted her lips so she could say something but she had run out of words. Was that his plan? To see her body?
"I can't come out like this and you're…here, I need my gown" Jacqueline sighed tiredly, she might faint if she doesn't get out of the pool soon.
"Fine then, since I'm in a good mood, I'll turn my back for 5 seconds" Alexander said and Jacqueline's eyes narrowed.
What if he tries to spy on her and 5 seconds wouldn't be enough to wear her clothes, gosh!
"Are you ready?" He asked as he swam away from her and Jacqueline quickly swam to the staircase.
Alexander chuckled and he backed her. No one had to explain to her that the 5 seconds countdown had started. She quickly sprinted out of the pool, grabbed her gown and she quickly rushed out of the pool section.
She was dripping wet as she clutched the gown close to her chest. Her heart raced faster as she stood in the passage, she quickly wore her gown and she hurriedly left the place and headed straight to her room.
Jacqueline got inside and she gently shut the door behind her.
"I'm screwed" She exclaimed as she banged her head on the door frame.
Meanwhile, back in the pool section, Alexander got out of the pool and the smirk that was previously on his face had evaporated into thin air.
He sat on one of the chairs in the lounge and at that moment, Romano walked in. He had arrived at the mansion early in the morning and he had decided to spend the night at the mansion. Romano walked up to him.
"Hey, I texted you about wanting to join you here 40 minutes ago, why did you tell me to wait?" Romano asked as he settled on a chair opposite him.
When Alexander had seen Jacqueline enter into the pool from underneath the water, he had texted Romano to wait a bit. It was only possible with his water resistant phone which was friggin expensive and he had been wearing his goggles.
"Just because.." Alexander replied as he recalled what happened.
Romano waited for his crazy friend to complete his statement but he never did and for the first time in a long time, he saw an unfathomable emotion in his metallic gray eyes. What exactly had he missed???
