Mafia's possession:chapter 52

Her eyes gleamed with anger, she stepped forward and held the door knob to open the door. But stopped mid-way.

No, she wouldn't react and give him the satisfaction of seeing her pained by his obvious cold approach. With a surge of anger, she wrenched her hands away from the door knob. Swiftly, she spun in her heels and stormed out.

She stopped by Penelope's door, deciding to let her know of the latest development. She sighed deeply, Penelope had just arrived. Going in to see her will be inconsiderate. Jacqueline walked from the door as she wouldn't want to be a disturbance to granny Penelope.

Not having anything else to do, she went into her room and closed the door behind her.Stamping her feet angrily. At that moment, she felt like strangling him.

The least he could do was to inform her that her services are no longer needed rather than treating her like a fool. Pacing back and forth in her room, if Alexander doesn't want her working for him anymore, then she will return back to her normal life but she fears that Chain's reaction will be brutal.

As she walked to her bed, she paused when her eyes caught sight of a white envelope lying on her bed. She sat down quickly as she reached for the envelope. It weighed like a feather in her hand.

What could be inside? Oh, this must be the gift Penelope had promised. Quickly, she tore the envelope open and a piece of paper which was neatly folded, slipped out and fell on her lap.

In curiosity, she unfolded the paper. And her face turned white as she read the words; Leave the mansion tonight. We have an important issue to discuss.

She swallowed the lump which had formed in her throat. The written note was from Chain. His name was inscribed on the down part of the paper.

Her eyes darted around the room with a frightened look in her eyes. Everything looked perfect, there was no sign of forceful entry.

How did this get into her room?

Did Chain drop it ? She shakes her head at the absurdity of her thoughts. He wouldn't risk it. Does it mean he sent someone to drop it?

She couldn't control her thoughts which were scattered in different directions.

The piece of paper fell from her hand as she gripped her hair in fear. She could hear her heartbeat pounding hard against her chest like it would fly out. She doesn't want to see Chain, it's not something she would want to do.

Just then, her phone rang and she grabbed it. She was flustered to check the caller ID.

"Jayz."

Her face blanched as she managed to keep her trembling hands steady. "Boss," she whispered.

"I assume you must have gotten my message. I will be waiting for you when you get out," Chain said at the other end of the phone.

"I am not allowed to go out, boss. How do I leave the mansion undetected?"

"How well do you love your sister?," his words pierced through her and she panicked.

"Please, don't do anything to her," she pleaded as she whipped away tears from her face.

"Then don't keep me waiting," the call ended.

And Jacqueline burst into fresh tears. She heaved and more tears poured from her eyes. The pain of being in Chain's control was unbearable.

She picked up the pillow and screamed into it. Letting her pains out. She was shaken by his threats which he would love to carry out.

She stopped crying and her eyes hardened in determination. If doing his bidding will keep jennie safe, then she'll do what it takes.

Getting out of the mansion will be a difficult task to accomplish. She thought of possible ways of going past Alexander's men keeping watch. Then a thought struck her.

She hurried to her closet and brought out her bag. In one of the hidden compartments, she slipped her fingers inside and brought out a sealed pack which contained the sleeping pills which she had used on her clients then.

She changed into a jean trouser and a pink top.
And she shoved it in her pocket, returned her bag to the closet and walked away. Waiting for when to use it.

It was afternoon when she slipped out from her room, she looked over her shoulder to be sure no one was watching. Then she closed the door and walked to the kitchen, she ducked behind the wall when she saw Ann serving lunch.

One of the men who stayed at the gate came in.

"Is lunch ready?," he asked.

Ann dropped the spoon and turned to him. "Just a minute, I will be done. Why not go back to your post. I will bring it myself."

She nodded and left without saying a word. Jacqueline kept to her position as she watched Ann keenly.

Ann rubbed her temple as if she forgot something. She muttered an inaudible word and in hurried steps, she walked out of the kitchen.

Jacqueline came in quickly, and her eyes fell on the tray containing three plates. Concluding it was for the men, she brought out the sleeping pill and crushed it before sprinkling it on each food.

A smile crossed her face and she slipped out before someone would come in.

She went outside, the men were watching a video on a phone and they roared into laughter, clearly amused by the content.

Using that as an opportunity, she tiptoed to a car and hid behind it. Just then, Ann came out with the tray and Jacqueline's heart leaped for joy.

Soon they started eating . Judging by the effectiveness of the pills, she knew that in no time, they would fall asleep.

She prayed silently as she watched the men eating. After a few minutes, they fell asleep. And she came out of hiding.

The men were snoring away, she picked the keys from the table and ran to the gate.

In a swift motion, she opened the gate and stepped out. From the corner of her eyes, she saw someone come close. Before she could react, a blow struck her. She fell with a thud and blacked out.
