Chapter 94

Vincenzo paced his room, unable to calm himself. It's times like this that he misses Antonio calming words. The man hasn't contacted him since that they, and his own ego won't let him call. Vincenzo's knows he's an emotionless and uncompassionate man, but he should at least look at things from his own point of view. He's the Don of the dangerous clans in Italy, he is strong and people expect everything that concerns him to be the same, including his children.

'Killing him wasn't still the right decision.' His subconscious says and Vincenzo groans picking up his cell phone to make a call. He dialled the contact of the men he sent to rescue Alexander and the number was still not going.

The thought that something grave has happened to his son and sent him over the edge. For once in so long, when he heard Jacqueline's sobbing voice over the phone, he felt devastated and angry. It's taking all the self control he has in the world not to go over to an excited Greta and strangle the life out of her.

He placed the phone on the bed, going to the bathroom to ease himself. Before he came back there was at least two missed calls. Vincenzo cursed, calling the number back.

"Boss, we found them. They are alive and are being sent to the hospital." The leader of the team said immediately. Vincenzo sighed in relief, crashing on the bed.

"Which hospital are you guys in?" He asked.

"Hamilton." The leader replied.

"Okay, keep your eyes on them. You might have caught the hitmen, but nothing is stopping the culprit from sending another one your way." Vincenzo instructed.

"Boss, they might be a problem." The leader says, going silent immediately.

"What's that?" Vincenzo asked, his heart racing and bracing himself for what he had to say.

The leader broke the news in Italian, Vincenzo cursed after hearing it.

"Pay the doctor and everyone who knows about it, don't let them get the news to Alexander." Vincenzo said.

"Should I let the boss know?"

"No! " Vincenzo said immediately. There was no way Alexander should know, the girl might not even be aware about it in the first place. So, why break their little in love heart.

"He deserves to know, boss."

"Are you undermining my authority, Matteo?" Vincenzo asked in his usual commanding tone.

"N-no boss." The leader is quick to say in fear.

"Good, I'll be right over in a bit. There's something I have to do." With that he ended the call.

Vincenzo paused, needing a minute to collect his thoughts. There was no need telling them about the misfortune that fell on them, he wasn't going to let Alexander marry her in the first place. He was just letting Jacqueline stay with him, because his son needed a plaything to pass time. Alexander was going to marry for Alliance, everyone in the mafia world did it and he was going to make sure Alexander is no exception.

Vincenzo changed his clothes and stepped out, grabbing his walking stick with him. Not like he needed it, he just needed his imposing and intimidating aura around.

He got to Alexander's room and found everything being moved out.

"Who ordered the move of my son's things?" He directed his question to a guard.

"The madam." The guard mumbled, cowering in fear.

"What madam? Jacqueline is the only madam in this house." Vincenzo said, he cringed at the use of Jacqueline's name, but he had to, to accomplish what he was about to do.

"Ma'am Greta, she said he wasn't coming back, that he went on a far away trip." The guard said and Vincenzo had to take a minute to calm himself.

"Before I close my eyes and open it, his things should be arranged in order!" Vincenzo yelled, stomping the walking stick on the floor.

The movers flinched, getting into work immediately.

"What's going on here?" Greta asked.

"Did you asked for Alexander's things to be moved?" Vincenzo asked.

"Y-yes-"

"I will have your head, Greta. If you don't stay on your lane, I will kill you." Vincenzo threatened in an intimidating tone. Greta scoffed, thinking he was joking.

"He's not coming back anyway." She shrugged.

"Why? You think your goons succeeded? Call them and see if they're alive to pick your calls. You didn't get suspicious when they didn't get back to you?"

Greta cleared her throat, panic imbuilding within her.

"What are you talking about? Alexander said he was going on a trip and said I was free to use his clothes." She said, the urge to go to her room and call her men rising.

"Did Jacqueline also ask that you wear her clothes?" He asked, his ears on her outfit. Greta was a little bit fat, while Jacqueline was slim, there was no way she would wear Jacqueline's clothe and it wouldn't be detected on her.

"Father in heaven, help me to not kill this girl!" Vincenzo soliloquized. He palmed his forehead.

"He told you he was going on a trip, and he just texted that he was coming back. Greta, your lies are catching up to you. Get everything you changed back into order and pull off my daughter in-laws clothes, because they're coming back."

Greta shocked, breaking out in sweat. Her people failed again, there was no greater disappointment than that

"I told you, the moment you try to harm him, that's the day you should start looking over your shoulder, the day your time on earth is being numbered. Day 1, Greta. Better watch what you eat, I'll give you pointers." Vincenzo said, chuckling.

"No! You and your son can't oppress me like this. Remember who I am, who my grandfather is. He won't like to see you bully his treasure." Greta says in panic.

"Should I be scared of a cripple?" Vincenzo asked and Greta froze.

"Yes, I know. He's no longer in power and you can't do nothing to me, Greta." He sneers.
