Chapter 76: Mafia’s possession
"Yes, Jackie, care to tell your boss what's gone?" The girl says in a bitchy tone and I already hate her.
"Who are you?" Alexander asked, his question directed at Rena.
"A friend of Jackie's, I'm Rena and you must be-"
Rena's body language had got Alexander feeling irritated, like who slurs and flirts with a man they just met? It's degrading of her, and foolish because she's trying to seduce Alexander, someone that can just have her killed with a snap of his fingers.
"Rena was just leaving." Jacqueline interrupts and Rena stares at her in shock.
She's about to object when Alexander interrupts "better, and this is the last time you have this sort of bitchy friend over. She's banned from entering this mansion." Alexander states, sitting on the couch.
The relief that appears on Jacqueline's face didn't go unnoticed by him and he wondered what she might be hiding. He'll get to the bottom of things though, he always does.
"Are you sure you don't want me here again?" Rena drawls, her hand sliding down my thighs. It felt nothing like Jacqueline's touch, instead I was disgusted and felt like a snake was slithering his way up my body. Before Alexander could say something, Rena was jerked away from him. He looked up to see Jacqueline's hands around the girl's neck.
"Didn't mama dearest tell you not to stay away from things that weren't yours?" She asked. Rena still has a bitchy smile on her face, smiling at Alexander. It infuriates Jacqueline further as she lands a deafening slap on her face.
"You dare hit me?" Rena gasped, trying to recover from the shock and facing reality.
"Of course, Rena darling. I'll do it again if you don't, scrammmm!" Jacqueline orders.
Alexander smiles, impressed by Jacqueline's show of possessiveness. If he had a doubt whether she was in love with him or not, it all flew through the window.
"I can break you, Jackie. Everything you worked for, all it takes is to open my mouth and he hates you immediately."
Alexander gaze shifts to Jacqueline, noticing her reaction. If Rena's words got to her, she didn't show it. She's good at acting, Alexander thought.
"Guess what? You won't, because he will have your head. You really are a whore and a backstabbing bitch, Rena." Jacqueline scoffed, dragging Rena out.
"Santos!" Jacqueline yelled and immediately he came running.
"Yes ma'am!" He said, bowing slightly.
"Throw this filth out and make sure she doesn't step in here ever again, if she does? I'll have your head." Jacqueline states, her tone sharp and commanding, even Alexander couldn't help but shiver.
"It will all catch up to you, Jackie. And I'll love to see the look on his face when he stares at you in hate and in disgust, do well to send a picture for me to gloat." Rena says, laughing and snorting as Santos pulls her out.
Jacqueline slams the door shut, heading to her room, ignoring the fact that Alexander was seated there.
"Get back here, Jay!" He says in a commanding tone. Jacqueline shivers at the order, but didn't obey. She took one more step and the words she heard next brought her to where Alexander was seated.
"If you move, you'll lose two things, your ability to walk and your ability to talk. "
Jacqueline knows he'll make do on his threat and decides to go to him.
"What was that about?" He asked, his tone commanding and laced with seriousness. Jacqueline considered lying to him, but had a rethink on seeing his cold stone face. If she lied right now, he would be able to tell.
"An old friend." She muttered.
"Why is an old friend threatening you?" He asked immediately.
"We didn't end on good terms." Jacqueline replied, secretly wishing he would stop with the questions and just let her go. Her heart was racing and she was scared she would spill the secrets to him.
"And why is that?" Alexander asked, his eyes scanning the little lady standing in front of him.
Jacqueline rolled her eyes in response, the scene of Rena seducing him and him doing nothing to stop her replaying in her head.
"Did you just roll your eyes at me?" He asked with an eerie tone that should send everyone shivering, but it doesn't move Jacqueline and Alexander can't help but love this side of her. The type that doesn't fear him, that is. She shouldn't, she owns every piece of him, she doesn't know it; but she should. She has no idea what he will do to the people who try to hurt her.
"Yes, can I go now?" She asked with an attitude.
Alexander squeezed his face in confusion, how did sides switch so fast. He was supposed to be mad and angry at her, he can't place why, but that's what should be happening. She isn't supposed to get angry.
Just as she turned to leave, Alexander pulled her back and she came crashing on his chest.
"What's wrong?" He asked, his tone now soft, it did things to Jacqueline's insides.
She turned her face, ignoring him. Alexander sighed, turning her face to him.
"What did I do now?" He asked again, and like in the queue, she burst into tears.
Alexander's eyes widened in shock and amazement. Why was she crying and was it necessary?
He sighed, hugging her to his chest.
"You just yelled at me!" Jacqueline said, increasing the tempo of her tears.
Granny Penelope rushed to the sitting room. She just came down from her room on her way to the kitchen, it's almost time for her to serve dinner; when she heard wailing.
"What's going on?" She asked in urgency.
Alexander shook his head, muttering "I have no idea."
"You have no idea? And she's crying in this manner, what did you do, Alexander Vladimir, what have you done?" She wagged her fingers at him.
If he was someone else, he would be scared at the sharp tone in which she used to talk to him.
"I just yelled at her-" He began to say, when Granny Penelope smacked him on the shoulder.
"You yelled at her?" She screamed and he shivered at the look on her face. She looked like a protective grandmother, if he didn't know better, he would think Jacqueline was Penelope's granddaughter…
