Chapter 137

“They would, if the man was Vincenzo Vladimir. Look, he’s dying and I don't think he would see through the year. He wanted to see you. “

Alessandro shook his head in refusal. “No.noy after everything he’s done. Not after wrecking me beyond repair. Not after taking my childhood from me. I refuse to see him, Romano”

“Alessandro” Romano called softly.

“I know better than anyone the damage he caused, but he’s your father”

“Father?” he asked, years gathering in his eyes.

“Father? Sperm donor you mean? Last time I checked the meaning of ‘father' it described a parent who would always be there, supportive of their children's goal. He did the opposite, Romano. He wasn't there, he didn't support my dreams, instead he took them away.he’s not my father, Romano. He was just the next available man to donate a sperm, he was never a father” Alessandro said, looking back at his laptop. blinking back the tears that were trying to fall.

“He wants to make things right, Alessandro “ Romano said, hoping to change his mind even when he knows it was a stupid thing to do. He knew what Vincenzo put Alessandro through and he had no idea why he was currently convincing his friend to see the one man who took everything from him.

“Tell him I said it’s too late. He’s late by 20 years. Time to make things right is gone, if he wants to make things right, he should die. Only then will I forgive him”

“You don't mean that.” Romano said, shaking his head.

“You think? No, you really think I don't mean that? Because I do, Romano.” Alessandro snapped, slamming the table.

Romano scoffed, standing up. “You know, right now I can't really see the difference between you and Vincenzo. You are an older version of him, same character and all. Get rid of the bitterness in you and maybe you will be you, Alessandro.” He said before storming out.

“Great” Alessandro muttered while he was gone, also standing up and leaving for Jacqueline's room.

She was still asleep when he got there, so he lay down on the bed, holding her to himself.

“Did you spray” A muffle and a sleepy voice said. She had woken up.

“Something like that” Alessandro answered.

“Hmmm” Jacqueline muttered, turning back to hug him.

“What? You never liked this particular scent” Alessandro said smiling.

“Something about this smells different” she replied, sniffing him.

Alessandro stared down at her, watching her sniff him. She had just confirmed his suspicion. It’s either she knows and don't want to tell him, or she doesn't.

“You’re acting suspicious, you know that” he said.

“Nope, nothing suspicious about me loving your scent.” Jacqueline said, laughing.

“You scared me. You okay?” He asked worriedly.

Jacqueline stared up at him, stretching her body.

“Just a lil bit tired and I feel the rude soccer team from my college days are playing hockey in my head.” She mumbled.

“It’s probably the stress from the past few days. You’ll be perfectly fine” Alessandro assured, pecking her lips. His plan was to just peck her, but Jacqueline pulled him back, kissing him deeply.

“You sure you want this?” He asked as she went for his shirt.

Jacqueline nodded.

“You’re stressed, right now. Don't you think you should at least rest.”

“What other way to relieve stress than sex?” She asked.

Alessandro chuckled “fine.” He muttered, kissing her.

They were just about to take things further when the head the blaring of the security alarm.

“What’s going on?” Jacqueline asked, getting off the bed.

“I don't know, butbthers’s an attack on the building and somehow they tripped the alarm system.” Alessandro answered, getting back in his clothes.

They both headed to the dresser and grabbed a gun at the same time.

“When did you learn to shoot?” Alessandro asked.

“When I got together with a mafia man” she shrugged, cocking the gun.

Alessandro groaned also cocking his gun “don't look hot doing it and make sure to stay safe.”

Jacqueline nodded and together they left their room. It was mid afternoon, but everywhere was pitch dark. “Jennie is in her room, go there andbi’ll try to get the power back on” Alessandro whispered and she nodded, heading for jennie’s room. She went through the door, but it was to dark to see anything.

“Jennifer!” Jacqueline called.

“If you’re in here make a sound.”

Jennie made a sound, it sounded muffled.

“Welcome, jay jay square” A man’s voice said and Jacqueline felt her hand sink

“Let go off my sister” she said, trying to sound brave. Her voice was a bit shaky, selling her out.

“Acting brave, are we?” The man said.

“I’m serious, let my sister go or you won’t like what i’ll do to you.” Jacqueline stated, pointing the gun at him.

The room was dark and she had no idea who she was pointing at. She didn't want to shoot and end up killing her sister.

“No can’t do.” the masked man said and Jacqueline felt scared for herself, her sister and maybe her unborn child.

“Jennie if you're fine, make a noise or anything” Jacqueline muttered, her heart racing.

Jennie whimpered, scared. The man had a knife to her kneck and Jacqueline sighed it was too dark to see what was going on, but as long as Jennie was still talking, she was fine. For now. .

“let her go, please. She knows nothing about this, take me instead. “ Jacqueline begged.

“So you do know why an here” the man tsked, applying pressure on the knife sent to jennie’s neck.

Jennie whimpered in pain.

“Okay, fine. What do you want. Anything, don't just hurt my sister“

“It’s the same thing,he’s ever wanted, Jacqueline. Something to bring down Alessandro.”

“I asked for my time, Chain should give me more time” Jacqueline yelled, years streaming down her face. The thought of betraying Alessandro breaking her. The man had done nothing but love her. How could she suddenly turn and stab him in the back.
