Chapter 75:Mafia’s possession
ALEXANDER'S OFFICE
"You've been pacing, you good?" Alexander's business associate, Leo asked. He came to give him a run down of every happenings in his cover company.
"I'm fine." Alexander groaned, pouring himself a drink, an alcoholic drink to be precise. He groaned basking in the burning feeling it left on his chest. He's nowhere fine. His uneasiness was because Jacqueline didn't return immediately.
Jacqueline left for almost an hour before Leo came in. He expected her to return immediately for them to complete the act they were in, she never returned and he couldn't help but wonder who was the friend that came to see her. Was it a male friend.
As soon as that thought dropped in, that she might be seeing a male person who isn't him, Alexander slammed the glass drink on the table with a thud, shocking Leo.
"You're scaring me, Boss." Leo gasped, his hand clutching his chest. He knew what kind of man Alexander was, and what he was capable of. He dreaded coming here alone, but seeing as almost everyone knew Alexander by reputation, they were scared of accompanying him.
When Leo practically begged his secretary to accompany him, they had said.
"I'll be damned before I walk into the lion's den on my two feet."
Leo had sighed, he couldn't miss the appointment, it was a monthly thing. If he missed it, Alexander would have his head on a platter. Leo dreaded this time of the month with everything in him.
"Is there something you've done that would warrant your unnecessary fear?" Alexander asked, trying to control his temper.
He knew the man sitting a few metres away from where he stood was scared of him, terrified was the right word. Ever since they started conversing, he flinched every time he talked. They should be scared, they should cower at his presence because none of them are aware of what he's capable of.
"N-no boss." Leo stuttered, swallowing hard.
"Then you shouldn't, if you've done something bad then you should be scared, you should flee at the mention of my name because if I find out, I won't just kill you and let your body be buried, I'll feed your corpse to the vultures and then do the same to your family." Alexander stated, with a sly smile tugging at the corner of his lips. The little exchange of words with Leo helped lessen his anger a bit, but it didn't stop his mind from wandering, conjuring up scenarios about Jacqueline cheating on him. He's never obsessed over someone before, everything is new and weird. He's at a mafia meeting and he happens to bite his lip, he's immediately reminded of her juices; he's having a drink, he's immediately reminded of the taste of her lips. She's taken over his mind and she doesn't know, hell he's surprised how he let her. He wants her for himself, only he gets to know how she tastes and how good her lips feel on his. No one gets that privilege.
For the rest of the meeting, he pays attention to what Leo has for him. Alexander offers up his suggestions, he always does. You would think as a Don of the most feared clan he wouldn't know how to run a billion dollar company, it's a lie though, he runs his company singlehandedly even though he runs it behind the scenes.
Immediately Leo bows, taking his leave, Alexander switches on his laptop. A smirk laces his lip when he listens to the live tape. It's funny how people think they can come to his kingdom to steal and think they would get away with it.
He switches the system off and locks it in the desk's secret compartment. Alexander picks his keys, going downstairs, locking the door behind him.
That's when he sees Jacqueline laughing, she looks happy. She's never smiled that way to him. The feeling of jealousy clouding Alexander's mood immediately. He needs to meet the guy that made her this happy, he would kill him, but before he does that, he needs to know how he did it. How he made the always composed Jacqueline carefree.
Alexander descends the stairs fully, they still aren't aware of his presence. Jacqueline comes to view and so is the man- or woman. Wait, Jacqueline is a lesbian? She doesn't seem like one.
The conversation doesn't look peaceful anymore as whoever it is, is screaming at Jacqueline. Is she sane? Does she know who she's screaming at? Alexander is about to interrupt, when he pauses, listening to Jacqueline's statement.
"I always knew you were a bitch, a fvcked up demon and parasite in search of who to prey on. Let me break it to you. Your threats are nothing to me. What? You expected me to start shivering or shaking in fear because you were going to break my secrets to your stupid boss, Chain? Go on by all means, he could bring it on. I'm done being scared of him." Jacqueline said. It's hard to believe that a minute Jacqueline was laughing. Alexander couldn't believe he didn't know the laugh was meant to mock the other lady. He palms his forehead in shame, he couldn't believe he let those thoughts run through his head. Alexander couldn't help but sigh in relief, at least there's no man, he was the only one in her life.
Then, who's Chain?
The other lady lunged at Jacqueline, trying to hit her, and that's when Alexander butt in. Not in his presence will he let some lowlife put their hands on his woman.
"What's going on here?" Alexander asked in a deadly tone. The girl who's about to hit Jacqueline freezes, turning to meet his gaze. Alexander's gaze meets Jacqueline and she's visibly shaken, the bold, fearless girl a minute ago was nowhere to be seen. He felt sad, was she that scared of him like everyone else or is there something she's hiding.
"Yes, Jackie, care to tell your boss what's gone?" The girl says in a bitchy tone and I already hate her.
