Chapter 92

"Alright, I don't. Can you both hug and let's go home, I'm getting some chills." Jacqueline muttered, locking the door to the backseat.

Alexander and Romano talked for a while, before saying their goodbyes.

Romano got into his car and drove off first, while Alexander did the same.

"Are you okay?" Alexander asked, when he got into the car.

"Yeah, I think I am." Jacqueline replied. She didn't want him to get worried, but she was shivering and running a high temperature. She had no idea what was wrong with her these days, ever since she fainted, there was this feeling of weakness.

"Then why are you at the back? Come to the front." He urged.

"The front will be a little bit chilly, I think I'm gonna stay here." Jacqueline answered, shutting her eyes.

Alexander spared her a glance through the mirror and decided to remain quiet. He turned off the air conditioner so she would feel comfortable.

"Want me to drop by the hospital, so you get a checkup?" He asked after a while, it was clear he was worried about her.

"What? Why?" Jacqueline asked, bent on hiding her state of health from him.

"Can you stop hiding the fact that you're sick from me?" Alexander snapped, he wasn't angry, he just hated that she was lying to him.

"There's no need, I'm fine and aren't you supposed to be mad at me?" She mumbled, snuggling into the blanket that she found.

"It's hard to stay angry at you when you're this drop dead gorgeous." Alexander replied. Jacqueline shook her head.

"Whereas I get to punish you later." He smirked.

"Here I was thinking you would let me off." Jacqueline muttered.

Alexander chuckled, putting the car on motion. Halfway through the ride, he noticed a car trailing them behind. Whenever he increased his pace, they did too.

"Not now." He muttered staring back at Jacqueline who was beginning to fall asleep. She noticed his eyes on her and snapped her eyes open.

"What's wrong?" She asked when he kept looking at the side mirror.

"Are we being tailed?" Jacqueline said near panic.

"Don't fret, we don't want you getting sicker than you already are, do we?" Alexander comforted, increasing his speed. If they think it's going to be easy to get to him, they are in for an experience.

Jacqueline took a deep breath to calm herself.

"Where do you keep your guns?" She asked, tying up her hair and getting into action. She would be lying if she said she wasn't scared, she was terrified; but, this is the life she's getting into, why shy away from it, this is the life she chose.

"For what?" Alexander asked, confused.

"To shoot back at them of course. I can't wait for them to get to us before I actually do something." Jacqueline replied.

He stared at her through the mirror, nodding his head. He can see her heart racing and thumping, he actually thought she would be crying and panicking by now.

"Under the seats." He replied.

Jacqueline nodded, withdrawing the guns from the seat.

"Are you okay?" Alexander couldn't help but ask.

"Yeah,sure." She nodded.

"You taught me better." She smiled in his direction.

"Of course I did." Alexander smiled back, increasing the speed as they were getting close.

The car behind them got the idea that they knew something was up and began shooting at them. Jacqueline ducked her head, the car was bulletproof but not for long. Immediately they stopped to reload, Jacqueline cocked her gun, poking her head through the window, she fired back. Firing directly at them was of no use, so she shot at the tyres.

"Two shots and you bring your head back in." Alexander said from the front seat. He was doing a good job driving the car in circles, preventing Jacqueline from getting shot at.

"Sure." Jacqueline nodded her head, loading her gun. Alexander stared at her from the rearview and smiled, he couldn't be more proud of her. The moment he knew he was in love with her, was the moment he started giving her defence classes. Once word got out that he was dating someone, they might go after her and he would never forgive himself if something happened to her.

Jacqueline poked her head through the window again, firing bullets at their tyres. The third shot and she got it.

"Fvck, bitch." The men cursed at her and she waved her middle finger at them.

"You're enjoying this, aren't you? " Alexander smirked from where he was.

"Of course, this is exhilarating." Jacqueline smiled.

Alex shook his head, smiling.

Jacqueline kept firing at the car behind, until they derailed and couldn't follow anymore.

"Yes!" She yelped in excitement.

"I guess that's it." Alexander said.

"Yeah, I got them good, no one told me it was this fun." She said bouncing on her seat, putting the gun away.

"You mean shooting and killing people?" Alexander asked.

"Yeah." Jacqueline replied.

"You are slipping to the dark side, woman." He gasped, feigning shock.

"As long as I'm not murdering innocent people, I guess it's okay." Jacqueline shrugged.

"Only the bad ones baby." Alexander said.

"But you're now a dark queen. You're no longer innocent and naive, you know that." He added.

"As long as I get to be your dark princess, I'm fine with losing my innocence." Jacqueline smirked, running her tongue over her teeth.

"And together, we rule the world side by side." Alexander added, his eyes on the side mirror. The attackers were back, a different set of people and this time they were in two different cars.

"We are screwed." He mumbled inwardly.

Jacqueline looked through the car's back mirror and gasped on seeing the two cars in hot pursuit.

"Baby." She called.

"Yeah," Alex answered.

"Wasn't the car that was on our tail gone?" Jacqueline asked, swallowing down nothing.

"They looked like they called for reinforcement." Alexander muttered, stepping on the accelerator.

Just then another car cornered them from the front.
