Chapter 144
**“Well, he’s neither mad nor uncaring. He’s there with her, she just doesn't know.” Romano said.**
Ariel sighed in relief, she was about to say something when the entry door dinged, someone had entered.
“I’ll talk with you later, someone just came in. Love ya.” She said, ending the call.
“Hi, welcome to J$A stores, how may we help you?” Ariel greeted, attending to the customer. From then on, till dusk people tripped in to shop and place their other. Jacqueline had to stop what she was doin in the store and came to help.
“Whewww!! Today was a hectic day” Ariel said as they served the last customer. Turning the 'open' sign 'close'
"I know, right." Jacqueline yawned, crashing on the couch next to her.
"It's almost time to pick up Jennie. I'm gonna do that, you stay here and just get yourself." Ariel said, patting Jacqueline on the cheek as she picked up her bag and left the store. Jacqueline nodded, resting her head on the couch, sleeping off immediately.
Minutes after she slept off, the door dinged, a man walked in, dressed in all black, his hands tucked in his pockets. His eyes roamed the store and immediately he laid eyes on Jacqueline, a smile escaped his lips.
"You have no idea how much I've missed you, do you?" He asked as he crouched down before her, sending hands to her cheeks.
Jacqueline stirred, still asleep.
"How are you both doing?" He asked, placing his hands on her stomach. Another smile escaped his lips as he felt a little movement. Getting on his feet, he looked around, admiring the store.
"Quite an accomplishment you have here, pretty girl." He said.
"If I knew you were this good in clothes, setting up a mall wouldn't be so hard. "
When he was done looking around, he came back to where she was seated and sat beside her.
He gently placed her head on his shoulder.
"God, I've missed you." He muttered, patting her hair softly.
"You should have stayed, jeez I wanted you to stay. I don't understand what you're doing here unguarded and unsafe. I meant to go unnoticed, but you were always very observant." He said, taking her hands in his.
"I found them, you know, your birth parents. If they didn't want to be found I guess you won't find them. I knew where to look, so I sent the details to your phone."
He was still talking when the door opened. Ariel and Jennie were making their way in, giving him time to flee.
"Is my sister doing better?" Jennie asked.
"I guess, she's not mopey as usual."
"I miss uncle Alexander."
"I'm sure she does." Ariel said, taking out her keys and opening the door.
"She's sleeping." She turned to whisper to Jennie.
"I'll be quiet." Jennie whispered back as they made their way in.
Ariel looked around, something was weird, she just couldn't place it.
"Someone was here!" Jennie said, her tone rising.
"Shhhh!" Ariel hushed. She knew who it was. Blowing his cover when he didn't want to make himself known wasn't of use.
"Stay here. I'll be back." She said, leaving the room to go outside, just in time to see him walking away.
"Alessandro!" Ariel yelled, running to him.
"I needed to see her. " He said.
"I know. But it doesn't help her coming and going in secret." Ariel replied.
"I know and it's stupid, what if she doesn't want to see me yet."
"She will always want to see you, Sandro." Ariel muttered.
"I don't know, Ariel. I mean she's pregnant and I had to find out when I stalked her." Alessandro said.
"She wanted to tell you, believe me. There's an unsent message in her inbox. She just didn't know how you'd take the message."
"How else will I take the news? I love her, there's no way I wouldn't accept my child."
"I know you will. She's just being doubtful."
"I'll make myself known one day. I enjoy watching her from the shadows." He said, a smirk gracing his lips.
"I know you do." Ariel smiled.
"Take care of her, please." Alessandro said.
"Of course, she's my best friend."
Alessandro smiled, walking away, while Ariel went back inside.
"Did you catch the stalker?" Jennie asked, holding a stick.
"There's no stalker." Ariel said, smiling wildly.
Soon after, Jacqueline woke up and they went home together.
After dinner, Jennie went home to sleep, leaving Ariel and Jacqueline to plan their next clothing style.
"Told Alessandro about his kid yet?" Ariel asked, breaking the silence.
"Nope." Jacqueline replied, focused on her drawing.
"Doesn't he deserve to know?"
"He does, I'm not sure how he'll take it." She shrugged.
"Jackie." Ariel called softly and Jacqueline paused her hand on the drawing.
"Tell him and see how he'll take it. The Alessandro I know would never deny you nor your kid." Ariel said softly.
"Fine... I'll text him." Jacqueline sighed, drawing out her phone.
"Don't you dare text him... Call that man, sis."
Jacqueline glared at her, dialing his number.
Alessandro picked at the first ring.
"Hey." He said.
Jacqueline sighed, a warm feeling surging through her. She missed his voice.
"How are you?" She asked, walking upstairs to her room.
Alessandro's manly chuckle reverberated through the speakers. "I'm fine, baby. You?"
"I call you and ask how you're doing ,the next thing you do is burst out laughing?" She asked, frowning.
"No, baby. Come on. I missed your voice, that's all." Alessandro replied, still laughing.
"Hmm. I've got something to tell you." Jacqueline muttered, sitting on her bed.
"If it's what I think it is, I know."
"How?" She asked, surprise laced in her tone.
"I found the test when I was sorting through your things." Alessandro answered.
"Why were you doing that."
"Let's say, I needed a piece of you to carry around with me."
Jacqueline sighed, laying on the bed.
"I've missed you, have you?" She said,
"I know. It's a mutual baby girl."
