Chapter 139
Jacqueline sobbed in her best friend's arms uncontrollably. She felt this emptiness within and she knew there was no going back.
“You're fine, you’re okay.” Ariel reassured her, giving her light pats on the back. Jacqueline cleaned her face muttering a ‘thank you’
“Let’s go get Jennie.” Ariel said, opening the car door for Jacqueline to go in.
They both got in, and drove off to Chain’s location. Unbeknownst to them, two pairs of eyes were watching them as she left. Alessandro and Romano. Alessandro didn't want to see Jacqueline, not because he hated her, but because he might be forced to bundle her, throw her back in her room and let him handle things. That was what he wanted to do, but Romano stopped him. Penelope disagreed with their decision at first, but later accepted, but she just had to say goodbye to her granddaughter. After she did she walked back to the secret room.
FLASHBACK
Alessandro went his separate ways, trying to turn the power back on when he bumped into Romano.
“What’s going on?” Romano had asked.
Alessandro, who was still mad from the little argument they had in his office, decided to ignore him.
Romano sighed “I can’t believe you’re still mad about earlier. I’m sorry, okay, I just wanted it so that you don’t have any regrets when he dies.”
Alessandro had given him one stare “I don't think I'll have any regrets concerning him. But still, I'll go see him whenever you want.”
Romano smiled immediately “now what the hell is going on” he asked.
“Come with me.” Alessandro replied, pulling him into an underground room. No one would have guessed it was there. That was where the powerhouse of the building was. Switching on the cameras and infrared light all over the house, they were now able to see what was going on.
“It’s just one guy, why would they send one guy?” Romano wondered while Alessandro remained quiet, listening in on the conversation Jacqueline was having with the masked man.
When he pressed the knife to jennie’s neck, Alessandro hissed looking away. His grip on the mouse tightened and the poor object snapped.
“Calm down. This is the chance we’ve been waiting for.” Romano said and Alessandro sighed. It was hard watching his girl suffer and he could only watch, just because he wanted to use her to draw out the enemy.
Alessandro could barely watch the live feed before he decided to turn the power back on, when he did, Jacqueline fired ruthlessly at the stranger.
“Well that happened,” Romano muttered.
The next feed that popped up was when she went to take the documents from his office. The way Jacqueline cried was too sad for him to bear, so he looked away. The documents were fake though, he had made a counterfeit of every paper he had. Left the counterfeit in his office, the real one there with them underground. Someone as stupid as a chain would never be able to detect it. Alessandro watched the feed with pain and sadness in his eyes. Romano had almost gone berserk when Ariel decided to leave alongside her, but there was no way he could stop her. So he let her go.
“What next now?” Alessandro asked, confused as hell.
“I have no idea.” Romano replied, staring into space.
“Are you both kidding me right now?” Penelope asked, standing on her feet. They both stared at her like they had no idea what she was saying.
“What you do right now is to go rescue your girls.” She said,
“Yeah, okay.” Romano got up first, picking up a gun.
“You coming?” He asked, his question directed at Alessandro.
“Of course I'm coming.” Alessandro muttered and Romano nodded leaving the room. It was just Penelope and Jacqueline remaining.
“bring my baby back.” Grandma Penelope said.
“I can’t force her to come back with me, if she doesn't want to.” He said and she nodded. “I’ll be right back.” He reassured me, walking out.
Romano was right outside waiting.
“How do we find them?” He asked about sighting Alessandro.
“There’s a tracker on her watch, had it installed while she was sleeping.” Alessandro answered by getting into the car. Romano drove off while Alessandro worked on activating the tracker on his phone, when he was done, he showed it to Romano.
“We have no idea what we're walking into,” Romano said, parking a few meters away from the location.
“So do the girls and they were stupid enough to go.” Alessandro spat. He could see their car, he didn't know what they were waiting for but they were still in.
“I’ll be back.” Alessandro said, exiting the car. Jacqueline was just about to leave the car when he slammed it back shut, making sure she's inside. Immediately she saw him, tears rolled down her face.
“Hey… whatever happens don't leave the car.” He said to her,
“Why?He will kill my sister if he doesn't see me.” She muttered.
“No he won’t, he wanted me, so here I am walking directly into his trap.” He said and Jacqueline shook her head in sadness.
“Don't do anything reckless, Please. I don't think I'll survive it if anything happens to you.” Jacqueline begged and Alessandro smiled softly, kissing her knuckles.
“You're leaving me. I’m as good as dead.” He muttered, walking away.
Alessandro walked inside what looked like a driveway, looking around. Romano was already inside, he just had no ideas where.
“Come out, Chain. You wanted me, I'm here.” Alessandro half yelled, still looking around. If there was one thing Chain was good at, it was taking people by surprise.
“What, you scared like a freaking puppy that you are.” He stated.
Romano walked out from a corner to where Alessandro was standing.
“What did you get?” Alessandro asked.
“Nothing, looks empty.” Romano replied.
“I don't think it is, he wanted us in, distracted, so he could bring them here.”Alessandro muttered, staring at the entrance.
“Bring who here?” Romano asked and Alessandro pointed at the door. Immediately chain and other guys emerged, holding Ariel, Jacqueline and Jennie.
“Well, well,well…”
