Chapter 136
“That’s what am saying. Somewhere along the way she knew it was wrong and stopped. I’ve been guilt tripping her as much as I can and I can see her face and the way her mood changes. She’s sorry” Alessandro said, hitting his head slightly on the wall.
Romano stared at him, not knowing what to say.
I mean life’s were at stake here and he we as still willing to love her after.
“Would you forgive her?” Romano asked. “When you finally catch her in the act and she confesses. Would you forgive her?” Romano asked and he palmed his forehead.
“Thisbisn’t about me, ot’s about her. If I know Jacqueline, whicj I do. When I confront her, she would help take down Chain who might be walking with Greta, but she would leave.”
Romano sighed “this was the reason you made sure to question chain whenever you saw him. To think the guy cowers at your feet like you’re some god.” He said,chuckling at the end.
“Yeah, kind of.” Alessandro sighed.
“Well, if she actually leaves you get her back and this time it might just be an happy ending for you both “ Romano said, patting his best friend.
Alessandro nodded.
“What was the other thing?” He asked.
“Uhm.. I might be wrong but I kind of think she’s carrying my child” Alessandro said and romano’s eyes widened.
“You sure?”
Alessandro shrugged “I don't know and this isn't the first time, she had a miscarriage when we were attacked, she has no idea of that also”
“Oh my god, this is so messed up. How would she feel if she gets to know the truth” Romano asked
“I don't know, my dad knew and thought it was best to hide it from us.”
Romano shook his head. “Your old man was one hell of a thorn in the flesh. You know, I never knew how he warmed up to Jacqueline so quickly”
“She’s Jacqueline, everyone warms up to her in the end.” Alessandro stated, about to open the door to Jacqueline’s room.
“Women are a lot of trouble.” Romano said and he paused.
“I’ll be sure to tell Ariel what you said” he said, smirking.
“You wouldn't dare!” Romano groaned.
“Won’t I? You know how I hate being threaten” Alessandro said, twinkling his eyebrows.
“Where were we with Santiago?” Romano asked.
“I don't know, but i’ll be expecting him to make a move soon” Alessandro answered walking into Jacqueline's room. His eyes landed on a sleepy Jennie and he walked over, carrying her in his arms.
“He’s not dead, you know that?” Romano said, taking Jennie from him.
“Yep, I wished you killed him though, at least our 99 troubles would be over”
“We can't kill him now, you and I know that. He still has a hold on your father’s empire and some documents Greta stole from us and handed to him” Romano stated. “Where is her room” he whispered and Alessandro gestured for him to follow.
He locked Jacqueline's door, walking down the hallway.
“Think we should pay him another visit? Roughen him a bit till he speaks? Alessandro asked.
“Nah, my dad worked with men like him. They would never talk no matter how you tortured them.we just have to find a leverage that counters out his own leverage.” Romano said.
“And what might that be?” Alessandro asked, making a stop at a door. He opened it to reveal a typical decorated girls room. Romano couldn't help but gasp at the sight.
“Jacqueline put time in this “ he said, walking inside and placing Jennie on the bed.
“Yep, she did.” Alessandro sighed, tucking his hands in his pants.
“Leverage countering out his leverage. That would be his son.” Romano said, wrapping the blanket over Jennie and walking to the door.
“You mean Anthony?”
Romano shook his head “nope, his other son. The first son this time. Anthony is his younger son”
Alessandro stared at him, his head running with thoughts. “You can't be serious!” He exclaimed.
“Yep, I am. Bruno is Santiago's illegitimate son and the heir to his empire “ Romano said smirking.
“And we both know He’s in the hospital recovering from the little accident he had.” Alessandro said, putting two and two together.
“The guy is a wimp, we just have to say the right things which are actually wrong at the right time and he will come running to us”
“Or instead, we just kidnap h>m and hold him hostage” Romano suggested.
“you think someone like Santiago will fold?” Alessandro asked as they walked ofbjennie’s room, locking the door behind.
“One way to find out,” he shrugged.
“If he doesn't fold, we kill him. I never like Bruno anyway.” Alessandro said.
“You grew up with the guy.” Romano scoffed.
“Yeah, and I watched my dad prefer him over him. If you won’t take my mantle, he will” Alessandro snapped, remembering his father’s statement.
“I’m glad I killed him.” He said, crashing on the first chair he saw, grabbing his laptop. They were currently at his study/ operating room.
Romano sat opposite him “about that… “ he trailed off.
Alessandro looked up “about what?”
“Vincenzo is not dead” Romano said, breaking the news.
“That’s not possible”Alessandro said and Romano drummed his hands on the table nervously.
“I shot him myself, two bullets in the chest” He said.
“He’s not dead” Romano repeated.
Alessandro furrowed his eyebrows, shocked and flabbergasted. He made sure Vincenzo fell to his death before he left so how come?
“I don't understand! You saved my father from the hands of death after what he has done?” He asked in anger.
“It’s not like that, Alessandro. You think Vincenzo would know you were coming and not protect himself?” Romano fired back.
“Then what the fvck happened, because I shot the motherfucker dead twice in the chest. No man should survive that” he said, ruffling his head.
“They would, if the man was Vincenzo Vladimir. Look, he’s dying and I don't think he would see through the year. He wanted to see you. “
