Chapter 88

"There, I've said it. Now can you let me go?" Sally cried, wiping the blood stains on her mouth.

"You're free to go and sin no more, my love." Jacqueline smirked, staring at her hands, it was swollen because of the action earlier. The saying is true, to every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction. It hurt and she will have to apply ice on it when she gets home.

Sally stared at Alexander, he was glaring hard at her and it dawned on her he wasn't going to let her go scot free. "Please." She whimpered, her eyes on him.

"Too late my dear." Romano chuckled.

"Plead on my behalf, Romano. He will kill me and I don't want to die." She begged, rubbing her palms together.

"News flash. Now if you didn't want to die, why lie to the devil?" Romano asked.

"It was just for the fun of it. I'm sorry." Sally cried.

"Fun of it. Your little fun almost ruined their relationship." He replied. In as much as he would want to beg Alexander on her behalf, he will never let things slide just like that. The dude doesn't forgive lies and pretence. And it wasn't just any pretence, this one targeted his relationship, there was no way he would let it go.

"I'm sorry. I didn't know the extent of my lies." She said,

"You're still lying. I saw the way you were sweaty when we stepped in. I saw your body language, you knew but decided not to back down. After all what's that saying that I do here around here; Sally doesn't back down, she never lets go. Well, news flash, Alexander doesn't forgive." Romano half yelled.

All this while, Alexander remained quiet, just checking his watch at intervals. It's clear he was waiting for something.

Sally swallowed hard, she was screwed. She didn't know it about an hour ago, she knew it now.

Jacqueline stared at her, immediately feeling pity for her. "Alex-" She was about to say, only for him to raise a finger, signifying she should keep quiet. Jacqueline obeyed, once he was like this, nothing nor anyone could stop him. Alexander was a freaking time bomb that shouldn't be ticked off.

"Don't plead on her behalf." He said, turning to stare at her. Jacqueline stepped back in fear, his voice sent chills down everyone's spine, including Romano.

"You punished her, why can't I do the same?" Alexander asked, his dark gaze on Jacqueline.

"She apologised and she deserved to be forgiven." Jacqueline muttered to the surprise of everyone present, including Romano. She will be the first person to reply to him when he's angry.

"Did I deserve to not be trusted by the woman I love, did I deserve to be mocked with my 'daddy issues'. Did I deserve to not be believed by the woman who is ready to burn the world for if harm comes to her?" He asked coldly and Jacqueline bent her head in guilt. She knew it was only a couple of times till he used her words against her.

"I'm sorry." She muttered crying.

Alexander looked away from her, back at Sally who was still crying. He hated seeing her cry, but this time he will try to endure seeing her in tears this time around.

"I'm sorry, Alexander." Sally begged, dancing happily in her heart that he was currently on the outs with Jacqueline.

"Forgive me, Alex." She pleaded.

"Now why would I do that?" Alexander asked, standing up.

"For old times sake." She replied.

"I can't recall you doing anything for me, Sally." He said, staring at her.

Sally scratched her head, shying away from his intimidating gaze.

Alexander stared at her, expecting her to come up with something. When she didn't, he said "well..."

"Please, please. Don't say it." Sally begged, rolling on the floor. She held onto his trousers.

"What did you think I wanted to say, woman?" Alexander asked, chuckling.

"I don't know, but I don't." She cried, tugging at his trousers.

"If it gets torn so much as it gets torn, you'll replace it." He says to her and immediately Sally leaves his trousers.

"Alexander." Romano called. Alexander turned to stare at him. Romano had no choice but to swallow his words.

"Where was I? Oh, I was about to pass my judgement." He smirked.

"As from an hour ago, you no longer work here. Your bank accounts are frozen. Wasn't your mom here under false pretence? Well, she has been deported back to her country." He dropped the sentence, and Sally felt her whole world crumble.

"You can't find a job anywhere in the country, so I suggest you fly out from the country tonight. Oops, you can't, I froze your accounts." Alexander stated, a smirk on his face.

"Alex." Romano called again. He felt that the punishment was too cruel.

"You are not permitted to speak here, brother. She messed with me and she will have to deal with the consequences. Simple." He shrugged.

"Alexander, please." Sally begged, another round of tears rolling down her face.

She looked haggard and it was just because of one simple mistake.

"What did I tell you before, Sally? No one messes with my relationship with Jacqueline and goes free, she means the world to me and I'm not just saying. She means the universe to me." Alexander crouched to the floor as he spoke.

"I noticed the way your eyes shone earlier. What are you expecting, that we break up? Nah not possible."

Jacqueline's eyes twitched in excitement, she might have not fvcked it up like she thought.

"I'm still mad at you." He turned to say to her. Jacqueline let out a small smile, wiping her eyes clean.

"Temper justice with mercy, Boss." Sally begged.

"I'm not a lawyer, although it seems I have what it takes to be one, but I am not. I warned you, I even let the manager know what you did and told him to interrogate you and see if you will 'fess up, you didn't and that's so messed up."
