Mafia’s possession:chapter 45
Alexander's eyes blazed with fury, he cocked the gun, about to pull the trigger.
"No!! Please, don't kill her," Jacqueline screamed and ran, standing between Alexander and Ivana, the maid.
Alexander glared at Jacqueline who was standing in his way. His jaw hardened and his lips pressed into a thin line. He dropped his hands, bringing the gun down. "Jacqueline, get out of my way," he said in a cold tone.
Jacqueline was terrified of what he would do if she stepped out of his way to do as he pleases. The maid was on the floor shaking with tears. He stood facing him. Rubbing her palms together, she pleaded, "Please, I don't want you to kill her. Spare her life. Nothing has been proven yet."
"She should start talking. I don't have all the time in the world," he barked.
"This is not the way to get the truth out of her," Jacqueline fired back. At that point, she doesn't care if it will get Alexander angry. She will not stand and watch someone get killed because of her.
His men looked at themselves in disbelief. No one dared to stand in the way whenever their boss was upset. They stood watching what next would happen. As Jacqueline continued pleading with him.
Alexander's lips curled up in a cold smile. "So tell me, how do I get the truth out of her?," he questioned.
Jacqueline swallowed hard as her eyes darted around in confusion. "I don't know. Try another.way other than threatening her with a gun. You can't prove anything. That she went into the room doesn't mean she is the culprit."
Ignoring her, Alexander brought out his phone. He tapped the screen, searching through his phone. When he found the footage, he handed it to the maid. "Ivana, watch this."
The maid hesitated as she was handed the phone. Her face was bright red as she looked frightened. And her eyes were swollen from crying. She knew she was in deep trouble, Alexander is a dangerous man.
The man summoned courage and collected the phone from him with trembling hands. She tapped the screen and the recording started playing.
Alexander folded his arms across his chest as he observed the reaction on her face. Then a look of surprise appeared on her face.
"How do you explain that?," Alexander asked as Santos went over and collected the phone from her. And handed it over to Alexander.
She shakes her head vigorously. "I am not the one wearing the mask. You just have to believe me."
Alexander smirked. "I need to know what you were doing in that room. How do you explain the fact that you went into that room and a few minutes later, someone came out from that same room, wearing a mask."
The maid became quiet as if she was thinking of what to say next. After a few minutes of silence, she spoke. "Yes, I remember going into that room."
Alexander raised an eyebrow. "Oh, so you've decided to tell the truth? Interesting, continue," he said.
The maid's head bowed, looking at the floor. She was terrified. "My purse went missing. After searching for it, someone called me on the phone. Telling me to come to that room for it.When I got into the room, someone came from behind and knocked me out. That was the last thing I remembered."
"Where is your phone?," Alexander barked.
The maid trembled as she dug her hand into her pocket and brought it out.
"Do you still have the number that called?," he asked.
She nodded. "Yes, I still have it. But I don't know who the caller is."
"Santos, call all the domestic workers and get their phones from them," he ordered.
"Yes, sir." Then he left immediately.
Jacqueline went to the maid who sat on the floor looking dejected. She squeezed her shoulder gently as she smiled at her. "You should stop crying," she consoled the maid.
Santos walked in with all the domestic staff behind him. He was carrying a bag, then he brought out each of the phones and lined them up on the floor.
All the domestic staff stood facing Alexander who was pacing back and forth. The gun was still in his hand. He was ready to get to the root of this, not minding how long it would take.
Then he stopped pacing. "Ivana, dial the number," Alexander growled.
When she dialled the number, after a few seconds, a phone started ringing to the surprise of everyone gathered.
A cruel smile crept up.Alexander's face. Santos gave him the phone which was still ringing. "I will ask this question just once. Who owns this phone."
Silence fell over them as no one was willing to step forward or answer the question. This got Alexander angry and he roared. "Santos, tie them up and lock every one of them."
Just as he said those words, a maid broke away from them and started running towards the gate. Santos was quick enough as he ran after her. Other men followed suit.
Santos was able to get hold of her and she struggled against his hold. He dragged her to Alexander who was waiting.
When she was brought to Alexander, Jacqueline gasped. It was the same maid whom she bumped into the other day. The maid turned and glared.at Jacqueline.
The maid's hands were tied up immediately and she spat on Santos who felt like striking her.
A wicked smile came up her face and she said. "I am not sorry that I pushed her. I would have killed her when I had the chance," there was a mad glint in her eyes.
"Y..You, what did I do to you?," Jacqueline's voice trembled barely a whisper.
She scoffed. "What have you not done? Always prancing around Mr. Vladimir as if you're the best thing that has ever happened to the world."
Alexander was seething with rage as he heard everything she said. She made an attempt on Jacqueline's life because she was jealous of his closeness to Jacqueline. "I will make you pay dearly for your stupidity. Santos, take this filth out of my sight," he thundered.
