Chapter 100 The Hospital Gown Is Really Comfortable to Wear

Grant's face twisted with rage. "You planned to kill from the start and still call yourself a good guy? Are students these days really this ruthless?"

Adrian sneered. "Blame yourself for messing with someone else's interests!"

Suddenly, a dark shadow lunged at John.

His eyes widened, and with lightning-fast reflexes, he rolled behind the Slime. "Another level-nine contract spirit, a D-level Shadow Leopard?"

They were clearly out to kill him.

Slime's eyes were shut tight, fast asleep in the middle of the battle.

This had to be a natural talent!

Slime snored loudly, and its thick armor effect tripled, making its defense skyrocket.

The Shadow Leopard's claws struck, but sparks flew.

"So sturdy!" Grant could feel the Shadow Leopard's pain as it suffered continuous recoil.

Not only did it fail to harm Slime, but its own claws were bleeding.

The Shadow Leopard leaped back to Adrian's side.

"Useless thing!" Adrian scolded, commanding the Black Scorpion to attack. "Black Light Sting!"

The scorpion's tail glowed darkly, striking swiftly at Slime.

A sound of breaking defense rang out, waking Slime from its sleep.

Furiously, it had no way to deal with the Black Scorpion and could only hop around anxiously.

John, hiding behind, suddenly stepped forward, eyes blazing with anger, "You forced me to do this!"

In an instant, Slime canceled its gigantification and returned to its original size.

Its mouth puffed up, preparing to unleash a big move.

A fierce wind blew, scattering leaves everywhere.

Though it had no killing power, its momentum was strong!

Adrian warned, "Be careful! This student is worth five million Stellar Coins; he's not that weak."

They stayed still, wanting to see what move Slime was about to perform.

John leaped up and sat on Slime's head.

"Don't move, you two! Just wait!"

John's hands kept rubbing Slime's body, trying to find a grip point.

He kept threatening, "You can't withstand my anger!"

Grant whispered, "Mr. Sims, what should we do? This seems pretty vicious."

"Don't worry! I don't believe an F-level Slime can be that powerful!"

John finally found a grip point and grabbed Slime's nostrils with both hands. He hadn't even noticed Slime's nostrils before!

"Get ready to die, you two losers!" John threatened again, then commanded Slime to use a combo skill. "Take off!"

Slime left the ground and instantly transformed into flight mode!

"Damn! He's trying to escape!" Adrian realized as soon as Slime left the ground.

He thought the opponent was going to unleash a big move, but it turned out to be an escape.

The Black Scorpion's tail struck out again, but it was already out of range.

"Damn it! How can Slime fly?!" Adrian was furious, completely unprepared for this situation.

A flying Slime was basically impossible.

John shouted in the air, one hand gripping Slime's nostrils, the other taking photos with his phone.

John captured their faces.

Riding the golden Slime, he successfully left the street. The ability to fly meant he could both attack and escape!

"Idiot! Pack up and get ready to run!" Adrian demanded.

They were all wanted by the Spirit Control Bureau. If John reported them, they'd be toast.

Who would've thought two level-nine Beast Tamers would fail!

John finally left the street and, seeing the bustling crowd, let out a huge sigh of relief.

"Hey, Owen! There are assassins after me!"

"What?"

"Yeah, someone's trying to kill me! I'll send you the photos; these two look super shady."

John quickly sent the photos to Owen's Facebook.

Soon, Owen called back.

"You ran into them? They're wanted by the Spirit Control Bureau! They've never been caught."

John said, "Yeah, they're in the City of Wisdom, just a street away from my house. Investigate quickly; I'm really freaked out right now!"

John's voice was filled with fear, "When will the Spirit Control Bureau send me the mental comfort fee?"

"We'll talk about it later; I'll investigate them immediately!"

Owen's hand trembled, and the next moment he hung up the phone.

If John extorted them, the Spirit Control Bureau would be in trouble.

John sighed, not expecting Owen wouldn't offer any compensation.

He hailed a cab and specifically asked the driver to avoid that street, taking a longer route back home.

John carried various daily necessities and returned to school safely that night.

"John, why are you back so late?"

Uriah was on the balcony sharpening a knife, looking at John who had just returned to the dorm.

"Oh, don't mention it. I ran into two criminals." John sighed, tidied up his bed, and lay down, deep in thought.

Normally, he shouldn't be targeted for assassination.

Although he had offended many people, few could come up with five million Stellar Coins.

"It must be because I harmed someone's interests." John closed his eyes, thinking continuously, when suddenly a flash of inspiration crossed his mind.

Power Potion?!

The only ones whose interests he could have harmed were the companies selling Power Potions.

After all, he had been crazily selling Power Potions on the black market, not only at a low price but also with high fidelity, surely offending someone.

In terms of motive and financial power, only those pharmaceutical companies fitted the bill.

'They offered five million Stellar Coins to kill me! That means I'm worthy than a black iron-level beast lord,' John thought.

What John didn't know was that his crazy sales had disrupted the Power Potion market, which still hadn't recovered.

Miracle Pharmaceuticals, specializing in Power Potions, had suffered massive losses.

"It looks like I need to ask Caspar." John rubbed his chin. He wasn't familiar with the pharmaceutical market in the City of Wisdom, but as a manager at SourceLife Pharmaceuticals, Caspar knew it clearly.

At that moment, they walked in from the balcony.

John immediately noticed their clothes and said, "Can you stop wearing a mental hospital gown as pajamas? Honestly, it scares me too!"

Joshua ran over, gesturing, "It's really comfortable to wear. Look at the material, the fabric, the craftsmanship."

"Get out!"

Uriah put away the knife and said, "John, why don't you try it too? I didn't believe it at first either."

"No way! I'd rather freeze to death or go out naked than wear that!"

A few minutes later, John was wearing a blue and white hospital gown, looking very comfortable as he fell asleep.

Joshua lay on his bed and whispered, "John said he wouldn't wear it, but his body betrayed his words."
