Chapter 89 What Were You Waiting For While I Was Waiting For Reinforcements

"Mia, hurry up and chase it!" John didn't explain any further.

The bBlack Beetle was clearly a fake. Its eyes looked fierce, but it kept glancing around, obviously looking for an escape route.

Compared to John, a master of escape, it was far inferior.

Mia nodded and commanded the Flame Dragon to chase first while she and the Frost Dragon followed behind.

Every Iron-level Beast Tamer must have a habit: always keep a contracted spirit by their side to avoid unexpected situations.

John climbed up a tall tree and looked out toward the distant hotel.

He thought the Black Beetle had already ravaged the hotel, but he only saw a huge black shadow flying in the sky with a person standing on it.

"Has the Spirit Control Bureau arrived?"

John breathed a sigh of relief, thinking the Black Beetle swarm had been wiped out in vain.

At this moment, Mia was relentlessly pursuing the Black Beetle Lord. The Black Beetle Lord was extremely fast, but fortunately, the Flame Dragon had left a trail of fire marks, allowing them to track it from afar.

Tonight, she was determined to bring down a lord beast all by herself!

Time passed slowly.

Suddenly, Mia's expression changed.

The Flame Dragon ahead had stopped and was looking around in confusion.

"The mark has disappeared." Mia frowned.

There were only two possibilities: the Black Beetle had the skill to remove the mark, or it was dead!

If it was the first, the Black Beetle Lord would have removed it long ago.

The fire mark was not hidden at all, it was just a spot of unextinguished flame on its shell, impossible to miss.

That left only the second possibility.

"Is it dead?"

Mia looked into the night ahead, realizing someone had dared to steal her prize.

At that moment, four red glowing lights appeared ahead, gradually approaching Mia.

The Flame Dragon tensed up, growling lowly.

"The so-called genius is not much after all."

A young man in a trench coat with a refined look, Thomas Taylor, walked over slowly.

The Flame Dragon's eyes were filled with battle intent, spewing flames and locking onto the contract spirit beside Thomas.

A two-headed giant dog stood there, its crimson eyes full of ferocity, exuding immense power.

It was the S-class Twin-Headed Hellhound!

Mia squinted her eyes and said calmly, "Are you Thomas, a junior in college?"

"I didn't expect to be remembered by a genius. It's an honor."

Thomas smiled warmly and tossed something from his hand.

"Here's the Black Beetle you wanted!"

Mia looked down to see the recently deceased black beetle lord, its body broken, with important materials clearly removed.

Mia said, "You dared to steal my prey?"

The Flame Dragon and Frost Dragon stepped forward, looking fierce despite their injuries.

"What? Do you want to fight me?"

Thomas sneered, and a space above his head cracked open, revealing a large blue bird.

It was another S-class contract spirit, the Wind Spirit Finch, and was rumored to have a trace of bluebird blood. It was as strong as dragon-type contact spirits.

The Quantum Academy of Techno-Magic gathered geniuses from across the country; Mia wasn't the only one with two S-class contact spirits.

They were in a standoff.

The night on Thunderclap Mountain was particularly cold, but they remained motionless.

Thomas crossed his arms, waiting to see if the so-called school genius dared to fight him.

Time ticked by.

Mia remained cold and unchanged.

They seemed to be in another kind of confrontation.

The night was silent, and they were even more silent.

Thomas stood still, the night wind blowing his trench coat, making him look mysterious and dashing.

But then, a sudden change occurred.

A loud shout rang out, and a figure appeared behind Thomas.

He had been ambushed!

Thomas reacted quickly, his two contract spirits rushing back to protect him.

But Mia's two dragons had been waiting and entangled them tightly.

The four contract spirits erupted into a fierce battle!

Thomas felt like he was being trapped.

It was John who had stealthily approached Thomas from behind.

After ambushing him, John immediately retreated without engaging.

Thomas was an Iron-level Beast Tamer, far stronger than him, and likely able to knock him out with one punch.

It was David's turn. He gripped a large iron pot tightly and swung it with all his might.

The iron pot made a loud noise.

David shouted, "Bastard!"

As Thomas prepared to open the large bag, he felt a wave of dizziness wash over him.

His head was hard, but the iron pot was harder!

It was a pot made specifically for cooking beast meat.

David acted quickly, knocking Thomas out in one blow.

Since their host was unconscious, the two contract spirits instantly returned to the Beast Taming space.

The three of them coordinated perfectly, completing the task almost instantly, with flawless execution.

Mia couldn't maintain her cold demeanor. A smile appeared on her lips.

She walked over and kicked Thomas, saying, "I was waiting for backup. What were you waiting for?"

"You're really inexperienced and unaware of the world's dangers." John shook his head and sighed, "You're not strong enough to fight us."

They pulled off Thomas's backpack and found the Black Beetle Lord materials inside.

"Let's go!"

Mia kicked him a few more times and prepared to leave.

"Wait!"

John smiled wickedly and began stripping Thomas's clothes.

Mia glared. "You're such a pervert."

John said, "You misunderstand, turn around first."

Thomas was soon left in just his underwear.

David said, "He's wearing pink underwear, what a pervert."

They covered him with the bag and threw his other clothes down the mountain.

"Let's go!"

John clapped his hands, ready to leave.

Mia's mouth twitched. "You two are really awful!"

Tomorrow morning, Thomas would either go down the mountain in pink underwear or wrapped in a bag.

Either way, it would be very embarrassing for him.

Thomas would probably search online tomorrow for places to survive.

John chuckled. "He's just a bad person."
