Chapter 25 I Hadn't Even Started to Try Yet

Frank was shocked.

Although he knew that John's contract spirit was a golden Slime, no one had ever seen it.

Moreover, according to the information, John's contract spirit was supposed to be non-combative.

He saw his black viper's eyes widen, blood spurting from its mouth, looking like it was about to die, probably with its internal organs crushed.

Although it was a level four contract spirit, its advantages were speed and venom.

Being pinned down by a 6.6 feet ball of slime weighing a total of 551 pounds was a difficult burden to bear.

The Slime had undergone several enhancements and boosts from the Power Potions.

The golden Slime had already possessed considerable combat power. Coupled with the enhancement of 'Gigantification,' it couldoverpower most level four contract spirits.

"Damn it. It actually ambushed me," John was very angry. He was always the one ambushing others, never the one being ambushed.

John said, "Crush it for me."

The golden Slime bounced in place.

The black viper felt like it was being crushed by a rock, unable to even turn over, only able to let out painful hisses.

Frank said, "Holy crap, how is it so powerful?"

Frank, as the master of the Black Venomous Snake, could naturally sense the state of the contract spirit.

If he didn't retract it soon, it might really die.

Losing a contract spirit would be a fatal blow for a Beast Tamer.

Frank said, "Retract."

Frank retracted the black viper and turned to sneak away.

"It really is a contract spirit," John instantly realized.

If it were an ordinary animal, it wouldn't have such obvious aggression.

He quickly looked around and monitored his surroundings.

As soon as Frank started to flee, John noticed him.

"Use the collision skill!" John grinned.

Although his thought process was different from that of ordinary people, thinking he was stupid would be a real mistake.

The golden Slime bounced slightly, then its big eyes widened in anger, and its body trembled violently, moving very quickly.

Frank felt a gust of wind behind him.

He couldn't help but look back, only to see a flash of yellow before his body was sent flying several feet.

Frank's body crashed into a tree, looking extremely miserable.

John retracted the Slime and walked over to Frank.

Given the combat power of a contract spirit, it could easily kill a human, but John spared him.

If the Spirit Control Bureau investigated, he would be punished and detained.

"Who are you?" John bent down and looked at Frank.

At this moment, Frank remained silent, only groaning in pain.

"I've seen you before. Oliver sent you, didn't he?" John suddenly said.

"How did you know?!" Frank blurted out, realizing it was too late.

John said, "I was just guessing. Now get lost."

John ignored Frank, turned, and rode his bike home.

Frank struggled to get up and staggered away.

Given his current injuries, he probably needed to stay in the hospital for a while.

John said happily, "Good job, you didn't let me down."

Back home, John kept rubbing the golden Slime with satisfaction in his eyes.

Today's victory over the black viper was mainly due to the Slime catching it off guard and using its weight to pin it down before it could react.

But it also showcased the Slime's strength.

A level three Slime, close to 2.3 feet in size, would increase to nearly 10 feet with the enhancement of 'Gigantification.' This would make it a formidable presence on the battlefield.

Combined with its terrifying weight, being pinned by it would be very dangerous.

John said, "Just wait until you become a level four contract spirit. The potions are ready."

John's system space stored twenty-six bottles of mid-grade Power Potion, which, once consumed, would significantly boost the Slime.

The next day arrived quickly.

John went to school as usual.

John muttered, "Why does everything feel so weird?"

John looked at the others, noticing their strange looks.

As soon as he stepped into the classroom, all his classmates' eyes turned to him.

John asked, "Holy crap, what's going on? Why are they all looking at me like that?"

John crossed his arms, warily looking at everyone.

"John, it can't really be you, right?"

Liam suddenly took out his phone and showed him a picture.

It showed someone squatting in a bathroom stall, the dim light and yellow clothes blending harmoniously. The shirt had a llama printed on it.

John replied, "Yes, it's me. So what?"

John was wearing the same yellow shirt today with the lifelike llama on it.

"Holy crap, you're famous now, the City of Wisdom restroom pharmacist!" Liam said.

John took the phone and saw the comments and shares.

[Is this the legendary 'epic' potion?]

He had just casually made a potion, not expecting it to become widely known.

"John, you didn't really use stuff from the bathroom to make potions, did you?"

"Can feces be used in alchemy now?"

Everyone looked shocked and curious.

John said, "I really was making potions."

John's mouth twitched. It seemed impossible to explain.

John thought, 'I was making potions, not fertilizer, no feces involved.'

Soon, the time for class arrived, and the buzz of conversation in the classroom abruptly ceased.

Harper, donning black-framed glasses, entered the room, casting an unusual glance toward John.

He, too, was privy to the tale of the public restroom potion maker. In fact, upon seeing the photos, he had surmised it was John.

John was the type of person who could pull off anything. Any unusual activity would seem strangely normal if it was him behind it.

Harper said, "Alright, everyone, stop talking about other things."

Harper coughed, becoming serious.

Harper added, "The exams are over. High school seniors can relax, but not you. With finals approaching, let me give you a hint: your final exam scores will be crucial in determining if you can enter the senior special training class."

The class was in an uproar.

As Beast Tamer Class students, they were familiar with the senior special training class.

The school formed this class to train top students to compete for spots in Auroria's top schools.

Entering this class would greatly enhance their Beast-Taming skills, and the school would cover most of the resource costs.

This was something that social Beast Tamers envied.

For Beast Tamer Class students, entering the special training class was like being halfway to success, ensuring good exam scores.

"Mr. Adams, isn't the special training class usually formed in the second semester of senior year?" Liam asked.

Harper replied, "This year's exam scores were disappointing. Our school might drop out of the top three in the city."

Harper sighed. If the school's ranking dropped, the education department would cut teaching resources.

Just the monthly Beast Taming Orbs were a huge expense that the school couldn't afford alone.

Harper said, "To improve our scores, the school decided to form the special training class early." Harper looked at the top students in the class. "This final exam will be a key indicator of whether you can enter the special training class."

Both Fiona and Liam were invigorated. Their eyes filled with determination.

The senior high school special training class only admitted twenty students, which meant only the top twenty in the grade could join the class.

Currently, only Fiona's grades made the cut. It seemed a bit of a stretch for the others.

"Don't worry, Mr. Adams. We will work hard," John declared, his voice filled with fighting spirit.

Harper said, "It's rare for John to have this determination. It's okay. The result isn't important as long as you've tried your best."

John felt helpless.

John thought to himself, 'The way he said that. I haven't even started to try yet, but it sounds like the outcome is already decided.'
