Chapter 59 Is This Potion Real
The next morning, everyone went home.
By afternoon, John had already returned to the City of Wisdom.
"John, you've been out playing for half a month. How do you feel?" Sebastian happened to be home resting.
John replied, "I feel very excited!"
John returned to his room and began to organize his gains from this trip.
Six Power Flowers, three Iron Core Fruits, two Enlightenment Fruits, and some common herbs.
The Alternate Dimension had also produced some of the medicinal materials found in Stellar Enigma, but they weren't considered precious. The technology of that time had already allowed for their cultivation, so the truly expensive ones were unique medicinal materials like the Power Flower.
The Power Flower and Iron Core Fruit needed no further explanation, but the Enlightenment Fruit was the main ingredient for concocting intelligence potions. It was essentially a supplement for contract spirits, capable of enhancing their intelligence and combat awareness.
John focused intently, taking out various other herbs, basically using up all his 100,000 Stellar Coins.
Another boring potion-making session!
One afternoon, John finished making all the potions.
The final yield was thirty-nine bottles of mid-grade Power Potion, nine bottles of basic defense potion, and six bottles of intelligence potion.
The nine bottles of defense potion increased Slime's defense by 4.5%.
As for the intelligence potion, John was a bit hesitant.
Looking at Slime, who was sleeping and drooling, he doubted whether the intelligence potion would have any effect on it.
John muttered, "Let's give it a try; at least, it should look a bit smarter."
John poured all six bottles of intelligence potion into Slime, but as expected, there was no visible change.
John said, "Forget it. Let's go to the Black Market to sell the Power Potions first."
John tidied up, took a comfortable bath, and headed straight to David's house.
John called out, "David!"
To his surprise, David opened the door immediately.
David said, "John, you're back."
John asked, "Why did you open the door so quickly today? Weren't you playing games?"
"Don't mention it." David sighed, "My game account got banned. The system said I was playing passively."
John nodded, not surprised at all. The game had one less troublemaker from now on.
David looked indignant. "I recently learned a new technique. It shouldn't have been considered passive play."
Saying that David took out his phone and showed John his game stats.
John glanced at it and was quite surprised; his game stats were indeed poor.
"Don't be sad. I'll treat you to dinner tonight and then take you to the Black Market."
John patted his shoulder, his eyes full of sympathy, but not for David, rather for his former game teammates.
They went out together and arrived at a restaurant near the Black Market.
"What would you like to eat?" The waiter asked politely with a smile.
"We'll have two Beef Wellingtons," John said.
After they were full, they went to the Black Market.
David asked, "John, why are we here at the Black Market?"
John replied, "Let me show you my status in the Black Market!"
John went to his usual stall but didn't see Jacob.
"Even scammers aren't diligent, no future at all." John shook his head, took out a blue cloth, and laid out all the mid-grade Power Potions.
"John, have you fallen to being a scammer?"
David's eyes widened, clearly mistaking him for a stall scammer.
"These are genuine! Genuine potions, do you understand?"
John shook his head and proudly said, "Watch my reputation! I don't even need to shout; customers will come."
At this moment, two people walked over.
"Sir, how much for a bottle of this potion?"
John's face lit up. He was already known as a legit seller, and even though he hadn't been here for a while, old customers still came.
John replied, "Eight thousand Stellar Coins a bottle!"
The man asked, "Is this bottle made of gold, or are the herbs made of gold?"
John replied, "Take a closer look; there are no cheap Power Potions anymore; these are freshly made."
John frowned slightly, sensing something was off.
"Give me a bottle of potion!" One person said.
John sized up the person and finally took out a bottle of mid-grade Power Potion.
"Is this potion real?"
"I run a potion stall. I wouldn't sell you fake potions," John said with a smile.
The person's expression instantly turned hostile, "I asked you, is this potion real?"
"Are you doing this on purpose? Do you want to buy it or not!" John felt a bit panicked.
"If this potion is real, of course, I'll buy it!" The person unknowingly got closer to John, "What if it's not real?"
"If it's fake, I'll drink it myself. Would that satisfy you?"
John was on guard. Although this was the Black Market, the other party wouldn't dare to make a move, but he couldn't shake the feeling of an invisible pressure, even wanting to run away.
"You said it. If this potion is fake, you'll drink it yourself!"
The person's expression was calm, but their eyes were fierce. They directly picked up a bottle of Power Potion and were about to open it.
John shouted, "How dare you touch my potion without paying Stellar Coins. Don't you know my name in the Black Market?"
John reached out, ready to grab the person's wrist.
But at that moment, a silver handcuff suddenly appeared, and before John could react, he was cuffed.
What was going on?
David was equally shocked, and before he could do anything, he was subdued by another person.
"We are from the City of Wisdom's Spirit Control Bureau! Do not resist!"
One person took out a badge, instantly making them not dare to resist.
"John, you're amazing. Is this your influence on the Black Market? Truly extraordinary."
David looked aggrieved, "I just came out for a Beef Wellington. I didn't do anything wrong."
"I don't understand the situation either," John said.
John was equally confused. He looked at the two people, "You must have the wrong people. We're both good and just. I even caught a wanted criminal last time!"
"Save it. We've been investigating you fake potion sellers for half a month!"
