Chapter 116 This is a Notification, Not a Discussion
No one can say no to being class monitor when it comes with a sweet monthly paycheck of over 200,000 Stellar Coins.
John rubbed his hands together and shot Zane a knowing look.
Zane sighed and handed over two top-notch Beast Taming Orbs.
John grinned, "Don't worry, folks! I'll do my job right."
Out of nowhere, Brady piped up, "Zane, this isn't fair."
Zane stayed cool, "It's all about strength. If you're stronger, you get to be the class monitor."
He turned to John, "Alright, start the lesson."
John looked puzzled, "Lesson? What lesson?"
Zane's mouth twitched, thinking, 'Don't even think about backing out now.'
"Zane, you should pay me extra Stellar Coins for this."
"Then give back the reward you just got!" Zane moved closer, ready to snatch it back by force.
"I'll teach," John quickly said, not willing to give up the reward.
"Ava, your Firebird's fireball technique doesn't have to be used all at once. Release them as needed."
John approached the Firebird, "There are eight fireballs. Try holding them in its mouth to combine them into a bigger one."
"And it doedn't always have to spit them out from its mouth. Try other places, like its butt."
John fiddled with the Firebird's feathers, seeing if it could release fireballs from its butt.
The Firebird flapped its wings and flew up, glaring at John and squawking angrily.
'You must be crazy!' Ava thought, feeling helpless. No one uses fireballs from their butt.
"Ava, give it a try," Zane said seriously, his eyes lighting up.
Ava was shocked Zane was as weird as John.
"If it works, it'll be unexpected. Winning is what matters, not where the fireballs come from," John explained.
Zane was impressed by John's unique idea.
John then walked over to Karl, studying his Wind Beast.
Karl didn't want John's help but couldn't disobey Zane.
After a moment, John said, "I can't guide you. Start training from scratch."
Karl was taken aback, thinking, 'I have an A-level contract spirit, and you're telling me to start over!'
John then discussed contract spirit skills with the others.
He wasn't pushing them to rigidly follow his advice; he wanted his guidance to inspire their own critical thinking and autonomy.
The idea was there, but implementing it was tough.
The class had at least B-level contract spirits. They had great potential but low obedience.
Only John's Slime followed orders perfectly. Its low intelligence made it highly obedient.
All day, the class practiced controlling their contract spirits, a must-learn skill for trainee Beast Tamers.
"Let's go, time to eat!" John and his friends left the Beast Manor.
"Wait, I need to pick something up at the school gate," Joshua said.
John and Uriah were stunned to see a black luxury car parked at the gate, drawing the attention of many students.
An elderly man in a black tailcoat, Christopher, stepped out holding a small box. "Joshua, here's the Beast Taming Pearl you needed!"
Joshua grabbed the box from Christopher and dashed back to campus.
"Man, your family must be swimming in Stellar Coins!" John exclaimed, eyes wide.
Uriah chimed in, "Joshua, is your family really that loaded?"
John then asked, "Joshua, do you even have someone to help you in the bathroom?"
"What are you talking about?" Joshua looked puzzled. "You are a nut!"
Outside the gate, Christopher watched Joshua and whispered, "It's been a while since I've seen Joshua this happy."
"Joshua, with all those Stellar Coins, why do you still work part-time at a mental hospital?" John asked.
John took the Beast Taming Pearls from Joshua—seven in total, worth about 1.05 million Stellar Coins, similar to Zane's reward.
"John, you got it wrong. We're the ones working part-time. Joshua's just experiencing different kinds of life."
The three of them joked around, unfazed by Joshua's family background.
John, with his system, could get strong without daily training.
And Uriah, with his divine skills, was feared even by the wealthy.
Back in the dorm, John swallowed all seven Beast Taming Pearls. They had no special taste.
His Beast-Taming power surged, bringing him closer to becoming an eighth-level Beast Tamer.
The higher the level, the harder it was to break through.
Ava, despite her privileged background, had been stuck at the seventh-level for months.
Joshua was also a seventh-level Beast Tamer; it was also hard for him to level up unless his family spent millions on Beast Taming Pearls.
But using Stellar Coins to buy lord-level fierce beasts to learn skills was more valuable.
While John was resting, he got a phone call. "Hello, Owen?"
"Come to the Spirit Control Bureau tomorrow. We need to talk!"
Could it be a bonus? John put away his phone, sent a message to Zane, and went to sleep.
Meanwhile, Uriah and Joshua kept training, boosting their Beast-Taming power.
The next morning, the special training class gathered at the Beast Manor.
"In September, your task is to learn to use your skills flexibly. Next month, I'll take you to the Alternate Dimension for training! Mastering your skills ensures your safety!"
Everyone was excited and eager. Most had never been to the Alternate Dimension, only heard about it.
Zane added, "Train hard during this time! Next month's competition results will be based on your performance in the Alternate Dimension!"
"The class monitor will supervise!"
Zane looked around, "Where's John?"
Uriah replied, "Zane, John asked for one day off."
Zane frowned, "One day off? Why didn't I know?"
"He said he sent you a message on Facebook yesterday."
Zane checked his phone and saw a message from John: [Zane, I might be sick tomorrow, taking a day off. Note: This is a notification, not a discussion!]
