Chapter 31 The Master of Deception Makes an Appearance
Ethan kept wailing, his heart now filled with despair.
Ethan thought, 'How did I get involved with this jerk?'
John said, "Oliver actually dared to call a street Beast Tamer to deal with me, so I must punish you properly."
John exerted all his strength to retaliate, quickly swelling Ethan's face.
A few minutes later, John clapped his hands and stood up gracefully.
As for Ethan, he was motionless, occasionally twitching, looking severely injured.
But John wouldn't let him get seriously hurt.
Although Ethan looked extremely bad, he would recover soon, he would just be in pain for a few days.
John clapped his hands, opened the stall door, and walked out of the restroom gracefully.
"John! It really is you!" Oliver rushed over, looking anxious.
John said, "Why, isn't this Oliver? I haven't seen you in a few days, and you look like this."
Oliver felt helpless.
Oliver asked, "Cut the crap, where's Ethan?"
Oliver's eyes were unfriendly, and he already had a hunch.
"Ethan? I think I saw him go into the women's restroom." John looked calm, lying through his teeth.
"Stop him." Oliver didn't come alone. He brought five people with him.
After all, he was also afraid of getting beaten up by John.
The five people surrounded John aggressively while Oliver went into the restroom.
At a glance, he didn't see Ethan.
Oliver suddenly thought of John's words, 'Could Ethan really have gone to the women's restroom?'
Suddenly, his eyes caught sight of a bag peeking out from the last stall.
At this moment, John triggered an option.
[Option 1: Act aggressively and shout, "I can take on ten people!" Reward: Golden Slime strength +5%]
[Option 2: Move flexibly and escape, muttering, "You can't catch me. You can't catch me." Reward: Golden Slime speed +5%]
[Option 3: Shout for help and request backup! Reward: Teleportation potion]
[Option 4: Engage in friendly conversation with the five people, trying to turn enemies into friends. Reward: Beast Taming level +1]
John thought for a moment. Although the first three options were good, the fourth was what he needed most.
Although he couldn't use most of the Beast Taming resources in the class, he could sell them for various potions.
"Hey guys, long time no see. Did you do well on this exam?"
John smiled friendly, put an arm around one person's shoulder, and chatted casually.
Jack asked, "Do you know me?"
Jack looked confused, and the other four had the same dazed reaction.
John had them all bewildered in an instant.
"It's me, John. Don't you remember?" John frowned, looking a bit unhappy.
Jack Harris shook his head, still looking puzzled.
"Such a poor memory." John shook his head and started to bluff. "Actually, I'm pretty close with Oliver. You see him being tough on me, but we're childhood friends."
"Then why did you beat up Ethan?" Jack felt something was off.
John replied, "It's all just for fun. Actually, I treat Ethan like my younger brother. If there really were a conflict, I would have definitely run away by now. How could I possibly be this calm?"
With just a few words, John had the five people thoroughly confused.
Five minutes later, Oliver helped Ethan out of the restroom.
Ethan's face was bruised, and there was some blood at the corner of his mouth, looking extremely miserable.
"John, you actually..." Oliver gritted his teeth, but when he looked up, his words stopped abruptly.
His five friends were chatting happily with John, looking like they were getting along well.
Oliver thought, 'In just a few minutes, had these five people switched sides?'
It wasn't that they were dumb. It was just that John's story seemed so convincing.
John had fabricated various experiences with Ethan and Oliver, telling them so vividly that there was no flaw to be found.
John's ability to make up stories surpassed countless people.
The key was that John's expressions were so natural, making it hard to tell the truth from lies.
"Jack, what are you doing?" Oliver said angrily.
"Oliver, calm down. John explained everything to us." Jack said with a smile.
"Damn it! What the hell is wrong with you guys?" Oliver's face turned livid.
"Oliver, there's no need to curse, right?" Another person frowned and said.
"Oliver's just like that, gets into character easily. We need to understand." John tried to smooth things over, looking like a peacemaker.
"Let's all take a step back. Oliver, don't hold grudges against your good friends."
Oliver felt his brain wasn't working. What the hell was going on?
"Alright, Ethan, stop pretending. Is it fun?" John said.
Ethan felt a surge of frustration in his chest.
Ethan thought, 'I got beaten up for nothing, and now I'm being labeled as a poser?'
"Alright, it was just a joke. Everyone, disperse." John called out, and the other five shook their heads and left.
Only the confused Oliver and Ethan were left.
Oliver shouted, "John, you stop right there!"
Oliver walked up aggressively, eyes filled with anger.
"You guys go ahead. Oliver's still in character. I'll help him out." John signaled the other five to leave, then turned and covered Oliver's mouth, dragging him into the restroom.
"Something seems off." Jack realized, seeing Oliver struggling.
"To the restroom!" one person quickly said, and they finally came to their senses.
The five ran to the restroom.
"Stop!"
As soon as they entered, they saw John beating up Oliver.
Although Ethan was there too, the two of them together were no match for John.
"You guys, why are you back? We were messing around." John still looked calm.
"Screw you!" Oliver's anger was about to explode. He was furious.
"John, you dare mess with me." Jack was now fully alert, seeing that even Oliver's face was swollen.
John said, "Wait, wait, we're all civilized people. If you hit me, I'll scream for help."
Jack shouted, "Everyone, get him! You think you're tough, right?"
The five surrounded him, rolling up their sleeves, ready to fight.
"Wait a minute!" Oliver suddenly said, stopping them.
He had experienced John's loud voice and feared a crowd would gather.
Oliver said, "John, you're also a Beast Tamer. If you have the guts, duel me at Beast Manor!"
Oliver calmed down, his mind continuously pondering, 'With the final exams imminent, the best revenge would be to severely injure John's contract spirit, causing him to score zero in Beast Taming Studies. John has been hiding so deeply that he must aim to enter the Beast Taming special training class. I will personally shatter John's dream.'
At this moment, John was in a daze as options appeared before him again.
