Chapter 44 Unstoppable Domination
John said, "By the way, I almost forgot about the exclusive skill book the system rewarded me earlier."
John suddenly remembered and took out the skill book from his backpack.
With a gentle tap, a golden light emerged from the body of the golden Slime, and it immediately learned a new skill.
[Invincible Crush: Passive skill. Creatures crushed by the Slime cannot use active skills. Note: Ineffective against contract spirits one major realm higher.]
John's face lit up with joy. As expected of an exclusive skill, it was clearly a perfect match for the golden Slime.
Although the Slime's weight was terrifying and contract spirits crushed by it could hardly escape, that was only useful if the opponent contract spirit didn't use any skills to dodge the Slime's attack.
Even a simple charge skill might prevent the Slime from crushing them.
Based on John's knowledge, the advantages of skills and talents were immense, directly determining the combat power of a contract spirit.
Three days passed in the blink of an eye.
John said, "Mom, Dad, I've decided to go on a trip to relax!"
Early in the morning, John left home with a large backpack.
John's parents didn't pay much attention, thinking he was just going on a trip out of town. If they knew he was going to the Alternate Dimension, they probably wouldn't let him leave the house for the entire summer.
A level five Beast Tamer daring to go to the Alternate Dimension was sheer recklessness.
At the entrance of SourceLife Pharmaceuticals, two black SUVs were parked nearby.
A group of people was waiting at the entrance.
"Michael, bringing John in suddenly will be a burden on our team," a fierce-looking middle-aged man said to Michael with dissatisfaction.
He was Michael's brother, Caspar, and also the captain of the Beast Guard, a powerful Iron-level Beast Tamer.
Michael said, "It's just a regular Alternate Dimension. I believe that with your strength, you can protect the team, and John can take care of himself."
"Let's hope so," Caspar shook his head.
At that moment, a person wearing sunglasses was quickly approaching on a shared bike.
"John!" Ava waved, her eyes showing a bit of excitement.
John joining in at the last minute meant Ava had some company.
"Is that him?" Caspar's mouth twitched continuously, feeling a bit unreliable.
John gracefully got off the bike, ready to park it, but soon, he got back on and shouted loudly, "This isn't a parking spot; wait for me!"
Everyone felt helpless.
Caspar forced a stiff smile and said, "Michael, are you sure he can take care of himself?"
John's actions made Michael a bit doubtful, too. He hesitated and said, "He should be able to."
Before long, John came running back with his backpack.
"Since John is here, let's get ready to go," Michael said. "This is Caspar, the captain of the Beast Guard and my brother."
John looked at Caspar and said, "Nice to meet you, Mr. Kane! I'm John!"
Caspar shook his head and said, "Since you're here, let's go."
The group got into the two SUVs parked nearby.
John seemed extremely excited in the car, looking around constantly.
"Much more comfortable than riding a bike," he said, leaning back in the seat, feeling very relaxed.
Ava, with a playful smile, asked excitedly, "Are you thinking of buying a car?"
With John's salary, buying a car was very easy.
As long as it didn't involve Beast Taming, other things weren't expensive.
John said, "I'm a bit conflicted. I haven't decided yet."
"Not sure which car to buy?" Ava asked, puzzled.
John shook his head and said seriously, "I recently got a discount coupon for a luxury car, which is tempting, but on the other hand, the monthly pass discount for shared bikes is also very tempting."
The SUV suddenly braked sharply.
The Beast Tamer driving the car looked serious.
"Mr. Frost, John is just being humorous, not crazy," Ava explained, not very confidently.
'Hope it's not too ridiculous,' Ridley shook his head, silently praying.
John asked, "By the way, Ava, do you want some cookies?"
John suddenly took out a bag of cookies from his backpack.
Ava waved her hand. "No thanks, I'm not hungry right now."
John asked, "Chocolate?"
Ava replied, "No thanks."
John continued. "Chips?"
Ava replied, "No thanks."
The other three people in the car were completely stunned as they watched John take various snacks from his backpack.
Was John really going to the Alternate Dimension for an adventure?
"How about we play a game to relax?" John, oblivious, took out a game console from his backpack.
"John, let me interrupt," said another Beast Tamer in the front passenger seat. "Did you bring anything important?"
John said, "Of course, I brought a pair of slippers."
"Morris, I have a headache!" Ridley, who was driving, rubbed his temples with one hand.
Morris, in the front passenger seat, looked over with a resentful expression, "Me too."
John shook his head, feeling that his carefully packed items were being unappreciated.
He gazed out the car window at the passing scenery, munching on various snacks. He didn't look at all like a Beast Tamer about to embark on an adventure into the Alternate Dimension.
The off-road vehicle headed out of the city toward the nearest Alternate Dimension to the City of Wisdom, known as the Enigma Woods. This alternate dimension was of standard level.
Based on the strength of the beasts within the Alternate Dimension, the nation categorized them into standard, dangerous, nightmare, destructive, and, at the highest level, catastrophic.
Enigma Woods was located between the City of Wisdom and Grandview City. Beast Guards from various nearby cities would enter it for hunting.
Five hours later.
John and his group had left the City of Wisdom and arrived in a small town.
This place was called Spellwood, and it was established nearly fifty years ago specifically for Enigma Woods.
Every appearance of an Alternate Dimension was both a crisis and an opportunity.
Countless merchants, powerful Beast Tamers, large corporations, and Beast Taming families would come, seeking rewards.
"Stop!"
At the town entrance, several burly soldiers in military uniforms immediately stopped the SUV.
"Passport!"
Caspar took out his passport and handed it to the soldier.
The soldier scanned the passport with a nearby device and then returned it to Michael.
The others did the same, even scanning John's passport.
Finally, the group was allowed to enter Spellwood.
At the same time, the two SUVs were parked outside the town and were not allowed to enter.
John whispered, "Ava, the security here is so tight, I'm a bit nervous."
Ava rolled her eyes. "You get nervous?"
