Chapter 12 The Secret Weapon of Ambush

John replied, "No need."

John and his companion decisively left, not wanting to linger any longer.

At that moment, a sudden rumbling sound shook the Black Market.

John looked up and saw two contract spirits appear on the distant street.

A large crimson bird took flight, with faint flames flickering on its claws.

The other was a towering shadow, about two meters tall, entirely black but solid.

The two were fiercely battling.

Although the crimson bird had the advantage of flight, it was being suppressed.

The shadow extended a black line, like a rope, binding the flame bird.

Not far away, Ava looked distressed, not expecting to encounter danger in the Black Market.

The red bird was her contract spirit, an A-rated flame bird.

"Someone actually released a contract spirit to cause trouble. The Spirit Control Bureau will be here soon."

People were discussing and quickly distanced themselves from the street.

Although there were high-level Beast Tamers in the Black Market, they clearly didn't want to get involved.

The Beast Tamer controlling the shadow had reached level nine, and to subdue him, a black iron-level Beast Tamer was needed.

But black iron-level Beast Tamers were strong enough to form Beast Guards and explore Alternate Dimensions.

Such strong individuals wouldn't easily appear in the Black Market.

David, though just an ordinary person, had parents who were black iron-level Beast Tamers.

Otherwise, given his personality, he would have been retaliated against long ago.

David said, "That's Ava's contract spirit."

David looked at the flame bird, remembering how her awakening had shaken the entire grade.

David said, "John, we should help her."

"Indeed, we should help her!" John looked serious, clenching his fists slightly.

The two exchanged a glance and nodded at each other.

The next moment, they started running, heading directly for the nearest southern exit.

They ran quickly.

Seeing the battle between the two contract spirits about to spread to other streets, they ran as quickly as they could.

But as they ran, options suddenly appeared in John's eyes.

[Option 1: Release the golden Slime and directly defeat the shadow monster. Reward: Beast Tamer level up by one.]

[Option 2: Leave them to die and escape in the chaos. Reward: Slime's charge skill up by one.]

[Option 3: Ambush the shadow monster's master. Reward: All attributes of the golden Slime increased by 5%! Note: System prompt to lock the location.]

[Option 4: Attract more people to watch the battle. Reward: Title: Non-Human. Effect: Increases damage to non-human creatures by 20%.]

John was shocked. The title 'Non-Human' instantly tempted him.

The name sounded powerful, but the effect wasn't great.

John said, "David, come fight with me!"

John suddenly stopped, deciding to save Ava.

As soon as he spoke, he took out a large bag from his backpack.

"Why do you carry a bag with you?" David looked shocked.

David thought he was strange, but John was even stranger.

John said, "Stop talking, come on!"

John's vision suddenly changed.

At the end of the street, a person was glowing crimson.

Beast Tamers below black iron level wouldn't easily expose themselves.

They could only control one contract spirit, making their bodies quite vulnerable.

Only black iron-level Beast Tamers would awaken a second contract spirit, protecting their bodies.

A burly man with a buzz cut stood at the street corner, quietly manipulating the shadow monster.

His face had an evil smile, and he was clearly a bad guy.

To distract him, John released the golden Slime in advance.

Although he was only a Level Two Beast Tamer, his Slime had significantly strengthened through various upgrades. It now stood nearly 1.6 feet tall, resembling a mobile heap of excrement.

The Slime opened its big eyes, bouncing in place.

Under John's command, the golden Slime approached the battlefield.

The man glowing in red suddenly saw a huge yellow thing appear and crash into the shadow monster.

The man shouted, "What the heck, where did this dung come from!"

He was startled, instantly realizing a Beast Tamer was interfering.

The slime was enlarged, nearly 6.6 feet tall, and looked quite imposing.

As the man was distracted, the two high school students silently approached.

John and his companion's stealth skills were better than those of professionals who were clearly experienced in such things.

Less than 3.3 feet away, they couldn't help but grin and let out mocking sounds.

The man seemed to sense something, suddenly turning around.

But in an instant, a bag covered his vision.

Then came the sound of a beating.

Dominic couldn't help but shout, feeling his head buzzing and his mind becoming unclear.

John and David, like brutes, kept pounding him.

If the opponent controlled the contract spirit to attack, they could be in real danger.

The two didn't hold back at all. Even though they were only high school students, they were exceptionally tall and strong, which was why they were always seated at the back of the classroom.

Dominic said, "Stop, damn it, stop!"

Dominic struggled, feeling extremely unlucky to be suddenly ambushed.

John said, "Beast Tamer Class Three's class monitor Ethan, let's knock him out first."

David said, "Top of the grade from Nebula High, James. Will we get in trouble for this?"

John said, "We can't worry about that now."

They shouted loudly, instantly betraying Ethan and James.

This guy dared to act in the Black Market, he was clearly not a good person.

Dominic felt helpless, wondering why they called out their own names like that.

Dominic Wells' mind grew hazy, and with a sudden sharp pain, he passed out.

Without its master, the shadow monster instantly returned to the Beast Taming space.

John also recalled the Slime to the Beast Taming space.

Below, Ava was stunned, not expecting the crisis to be resolved so suddenly.

Ava said, "Could it be a strong person who intervened?"

Just as Ava was pondering, she saw another crowd gathering.

She recalled the flame bird and approached the crowd.

She saw two students beating a man on the ground, the man's body motionless, a bag over his head.

"It's you guys." Ava recognized John and David.

"Ava, your timing is perfect. This scoundrel dared to launch a surprise attack on you. But don't worry, we've already subdued him." John said, occasionally kicking the man.

Ava asked, "Did you do this?."

Ava was dumbfounded, thinking a strong person had intervened, but it was them.
