Chapter 16 Mourned His Youth
John suddenly stood up, looked at the petite Fiona, and spoke solemnly.
John said, "Class Representative, are you actually questioning my academic abilities?"
As soon as John spoke, the classroom fell silent.
Everyone thought John was being foolish.
They all believed John had lost a good opportunity to interact with Fiona.
John noticed everyone looking at him strangely.
He had no idea why and sat back down indifferently.
But those who knew him well understood that John wasn't clueless about emotions; he was just plain foolish.
Fiona felt a bit embarrassed.
She thought that after giving John a Beast Taming Orb yesterday, they could be considered friends.
But John's words left her speechless.
She turned and went back to her seat.
"John, you really are an idiot," Liam couldn't help but sigh.
In fact, Fiona just wanted to tutor him out of genuine concern for his grades.
If he failed to get into a good college because of poor academic performance, that would be truly regrettable.
The joyful afternoon passed quickly.
John said, "What a fulfilling day."
John got up and stretched lazily, even letting out a long, continuous yawn.
Following his lead, many people around him started yawning as well.
John thought, 'Do you guys really have to yawn that long?'
Classmates around him looked at him with resentment, not expecting to be so easily influenced.
John said, "There's still a month until the final exams. With a few more practice sessions, I should be fine with the academic subjects. I'm already a Level 2 Beast Tamer. If I can become a Level 4 Beast Tamer, I could be in the top thirty of my grade."
John walked towards the school gate, summarizing his achievements.
John took exams very seriously.
Even with the system, exams were still a chance to change his fate.
Just as John reached the school gate, seven or eight people suddenly surrounded him.
Leading them was Ethan's brother, Oliver.
John said, "Isn't this Oliver? Your face looks even more swollen, but I can still vaguely recognize your dashing demeanor."
Oliver felt very angry as if he had been punched in the face.
John was ruthless and had a sharp tongue, which was hard for most people to endure.
"Are juniors in high school this arrogant now?" said a person in a white shirt and glasses. He looked very refined.
"Enough already. Just because you're older doesn't give you the right to bully me." John sneered, showing no signs of panic because they were at the school gate, and the security guard was not far away.
"Your words make me laugh."
John's mocking words instantly made a few of them angry.
After all, they were young and impulsive, unable to control their tempers.
Just as they were about to teach him a lesson, John suddenly shouted loudly, his voice echoing through half the high school.
John shouted, "High school seniors are trying to kill someone!"
His voice was so loud.
In an instant, the group became extremely flustered.
His voice was so loud that it would attract a lot of onlookers.
More importantly, they had no intention of killing anyone.
He was really good at making things up.
"Oliver! Let's go!"
The group reached a consensus and tried to blend into the crowd.
"Stop!"
At that moment, a security guard in a blue uniform walked over.
He seemed somewhat familiar with John, as only a few special students in the school were so memorable.
"What are you guys doing?"
Several security guards walked over, looking at Oliver and his group.
"Sir, we didn't do anything. We were just chatting among friends."
"Chatting. Chatting about killing," John refuted.
The security guard looked at the tall John and asked, "John, what's going on?"
John replied, "Sir, this guy said he wanted to kill me to feel happy!"
Oliver felt wronged.
In an instant, the high school seniors felt very aggrieved.
This was complete nonsense.
The security guards' mouths twitched slightly, clearly thinking it was too far-fetched.
At that moment, several people in formal attire arrived at the school gate.
"What's going on?"
A stern-looking middle-aged man walked over. He was the senior year head.
Seeing this middle-aged man, Oliver and his group felt doomed.
John said, "Mr. Mark, I'm so glad you're here."
John looked aggrieved and began to complain, accusing Oliver of his crimes.
Isaac said, "Take your time, boy."
Isaac looked at Oliver and his group, clearly recognizing his own students.
Initially, Isaac was angry, thinking his students were bullying others.
But the more he listened, the more absurd it sounded.
He felt John's words were unimaginable.
"Alright, boy, I get the gist." Isaac felt a bit angry and finally interrupted John. "You go home first. I'll handle the rest."
John looked reluctant but eventually left the school gate.
Harper said, "Oliver, exams are coming up. Don't cause any trouble."
Isaac felt relieved to have sent John away.
"Mr. Mark, we really didn't do anything." Oliver looked aggrieved, with his injuries making him look like a victim.
"Exams are in a few days. Don't cause any trouble, or it will affect the exams." Isaac's expression was stern. As the grade head, he didn't want any incidents during the exams.
"We understand." Oliver and his group looked dejected, feeling very frustrated.
At this moment, John returned home and started studying diligently.
Even though the system had implanted the knowledge of Beast Taming history in John's mind, he still needed to master it.
Moreover, he had offended Oliver and Ethan, so it was best not to walk alone at night.
Otherwise, he might really get retaliated against.
That would be very embarrassing.
A week passed quickly.
John kept a low profile and didn't cause any more trouble.
In a few days, he triggered two choices, with rewards being the strength and size of a Slime.
Although John was only a Level 2 Beast Tamer, his contract spirit's combat power was probably equivalent to Level 3.
"Finally, it's vacation time!"
"After waiting so long, it's finally vacation."
The classmates in the class were getting excited.
South River High School was also one of the exam centers, which meant students from other grades had a three-day exam break.
"Liam, do you have any plans for the next three days?"
Liam replied, "My family has arranged for me to go to the Beast Training Academy. I can only practice Beast-Taming power for these three days."
"Same here. I can only honestly attend the Beast Taming cram school."
