Chapter 39 John Felt Guilty
Harper looked around; he remembered bringing the entire class into Beast Manor.
Just then, the exam hall doors were pushed open, and two people walked in.
"Mr. Blaze!" Harper immediately recognized one of them. It was the freshman year head.
"Is this student from your grade?" Mr. Blaze asked.
The person next to him was John from Beast Taming Class 5.
Mr. Blaze, with a sense of exasperation, asked, "How on earth did you, a sophomore, end up in the freshman's exam hall?"
Mr. Blaze was clearly a bit angry and wanted to punish John.
"John, can you behave for once?" Harper felt a surge of anger; even at critical moments, John was still so mischievous.
Harper quickly stepped forward, bringing John back, and said, "Mr. Blaze, I'm sorry, John is a student from our class."
Sophomore year teacher Mr. Everhart glared at John and apologized, "Mr. Blaze, he's just too mischievous."
Mr. Blaze said, "Be careful, being this mischievous at such a young age will cause bigger problems in the future. But his Beast Taming talent is not bad. He should be in your class."
Mr. Blaze didn't pursue the matter further and turned back to the freshman exam hall.
"John's talent not bad?" Harper shook his head. "He's so mad at John that he's confused."
Then he turned to John and said, "John, what's wrong with you? Why are you always so mischievous at critical moments?"
John himself didn't expect that he could get lost while following the group and end up in the freshman hall, no wonder he didn't recognize anyone.
"Alright, the last student, step forward for the assessment," Mr. Everhart said, looking displeased.
John stepped forward and shared his contract spirit panel information with the proctor.
Potential Rating: F
Contract Host: John (Level 5 Beast Tamer, Beast Taming Talent: Ordinary)
Besides the potential rating of the contract spirit and his own information, John didn't reveal any other information about his Slime, especially its talents and skills.
"John, a Level 5 Beast Tamer?!"
The proctor's expression changed, clearly surprised.
This was the first Level 5 Beast Tamer in Beast Taming Class 5.
"Indeed, you're quite talented. It seems you're a top student in your class," Mr. Everhart said, softening his gaze as he looked at John.
But the entire Beast Taming Class 5 was wide-eyed, looking extremely stunned and very surprised.
"You're Level 5!"
Harper felt a wave of confusion. The class's bottom-ranking student was a level five Beast Tamer.
The other students also couldn't believe it. John, who seemed to do nothing all day, was actually hiding his true abilities.
At this moment, options appeared before John.
[Option 1: Say nothing and keep a low profile. Reward: Power Potion proficiency increase]
[Option 2: Sigh slightly and say, "I just accidentally reached this level." Reward: Charge skill +1]
[Option 3: Pretend not to know and say, "I remember being a Level 1 Beast Tamer, how did I suddenly become Level 5?" Reward: Level 1 Giantization Fruit]
John was slightly stunned, thought for a moment, and chose the second option.
The first option didn't specify how much proficiency would increase, likely still maintaining in the mastery level, not reaching perfection, so it wasn't very useful.
The third option was a Level 1 Giantization Fruit, used to make basic size potions, similar to the fruit he bought at Andrew's shop, so there was no need to choose it.
John suddenly walked to the front of the crowd, pretending to be helpless, and said, "I've tried my best to suppress my training, but I didn't expect to still surpass you all. I hate myself for not having the ability to even hide my talent!"
John clenched his fists, looking very remorseful.
This time, not only the people from Beast Taming Class 5 but also students from other classes were very surprised.
When did Beast Taming Class 5 produce such a genius?
John pounded his chest and said, "I solemnly apologize to everyone. I'm sorry!"
"Alright, alright, no need to say more," Mr. Everhart finally spoke up to stop him, unable to listen any longer.
Everyone thought John was saying this on purpose.
"Alright, let's start the next ability test!"
Mr. Everhart ended this round of assessment, afraid that John would say something else provocative.
Although John's potential rating was F, his Beast Tamer level added a lot of points.
There were less than forty Level 5 Beast Tamers in the entire grade.
"Let's start the attack test first!" Mr. Everhart said.
Several teachers pushed up a huge yellow sphere, with several wires connected to a large display screen in the distance.
According to the usual exam rules, each contract spirit had five seconds to attack.
The sphere contained various algorithms to calculate the attack strength comprehensively, ultimately giving a rating, which was the student's score for this round of testing.
"Begin," Mr. Everhart announced.
The first to step onto the stage was still Ava.
As the top student in the grade, she was the center of attention; everyone wanted to see how strong a genius really was.
A crimson bird suddenly appeared, flapping its wings and looking down from above. The A-level Flame Bird was clearly much stronger than other contract spirits.
Ava said, "Attack!"
Ava commanded the Flame Bird to attack the yellow sphere.
In an instant, its claws glowed red, as if flames were burning.
It was the Flame Bird's only active skill: Flame Claw!
The claws swung and swiftly struck the yellow sphere.
If an ordinary person were hit, they would be seriously injured or killed, but as a device specifically designed to measure attack strength, the yellow sphere was extremely tough and could withstand various types of attacks.
The display screen behind flashed continuously, finally showing a rating.
Attack Strength: A!
As a Level 7 contract spirit, having such a terrifying attack power was extremely rare.
"Not bad!" Mr. Everhart nodded slightly, his eyes showing approval. As expected of a student preparing to attend the Quantum Academy of Techno-Magic.
Next, various Beast Tamers summoned their contract spirits.
Various contract spirits made noises, making the exam hall very noisy.
Attack Strength: B!
Attack Strength: F!
