Chapter 101 You're Too Weak

The next day, the special training class headed over to Beast Manor for the big Beast Taming competition.

Zane looked around and quickly noticed three students were missing.

"Alright, everyone, settle down and wait here for a bit!"

Meanwhile, in dorm room 102, John and two others were still out cold, showing no signs of waking up. Classic post-holiday blues.

John felt something slimy on his face like something was licking him.

He let out his usual mischievous laugh and sniffed the air.

What was that fishy smell?

John rubbed his eyes and barely opened them, glancing to his side.

A terrifying snake was flicking its tongue, licking his face.

Seeing John wake up, the giant snake almost seemed to grin.

"How terrifying!" John shouted and jolted awake. He summoned his Slime, which immediately plopped onto the giant snake.

The others woke up too, their eyes widening at the sight of the ten-meter-long snake in their dorm.

"You guys react pretty quickly!"

Zane was standing on the balcony, watching the three in the dorm.

He was impressed with John's quick reaction. Most students would've freaked out or panicked, but John jumped right into action.

Zane raised an eyebrow and said, "How long do you plan to sleep?"

The three reluctantly got up, getting ready to head to Beast Manor.

Zane glanced at their hospital gowns, his mouth twitching as he looked around the room.

'Is this really a school dorm?' he thought.

Fifteen minutes later...

Zane and the three arrived at Beast Manor, where a crowd had already gathered.

Zane stepped forward and announced, "Today's Beast Taming competition officially begins!"

Everyone was pumped to prove themselves.

Though they were Beast Tamers, they rarely got to fight. Freshmen and sophomores mostly did basic training.

Now as seniors, it was time for real combat training.

The academic exams were similar to regular tests, but Beast Taming Studies involved actual battles.

The country had poured a lot of resources into training skilled Beast Tamers.

John and the other two stood at the back, sipping milk, not really paying attention to Zane.

"The first match, John versus Tristan!"

John, mid-bite of his breakfast, was stunned. 'I am the first one?'

He walked to the bottom of the stage. To avoid accidents, students didn't go on the stage; it was mainly a battle of contract spirits.

John raised his eyebrows, "It's you."

Tristan looked annoyed and summoned his contract spirit without a word.

A creature that looked like a mix between a wolf and a cheetah appeared. Its eyes were sharp, and its claws gleamed with a golden light, looking very dangerous.

It was a B-level Golden Claw Beast.

Many people turned to watch the first match. The classmates were all competitors, so they naturally wanted to gauge each other's strength.

The Golden Claw Beast was fast and had strong attack power, making it a relatively perfect contract spirit.

"Summon your contract spirit," Tristan demanded, eyes blazing with the desire to fight. The teacher had said those with ability could do as they wanted, so he intended to do just that.

"Why so rush?" John took a glance and had a bite of his bread before summoning his golden Slime.

"An F-level contract spirit? How did you get into the special training class? It's so weak," Xavier scoffed. As a transfer student, he didn't know about the final exams.

"Xavier, this Slime is not an easy one to deal with," someone explained, recounting the Slime's impressive performance, especially its defense.

"A seven-level contract spirit?" Karl frowned. He hadn't expected John to be a seven-level Beast Tamer. Despite the summer break, there were still few seven-level Beast Tamers in the class.

Tristan's expression turned serious. He was only a six-level Beast Tamer, meaning that he would have to fight above his level.

"Why doesn't this Slime have eyes?" someone asked, puzzled.

The Slime let out a snoring sound.

"Don't you dare look down upon me!" Tristan shouted angrily, "Go! Golden Claw Beast!"

The Golden Claw Beast launched itself with its hind legs, pouncing ferociously. Meanwhile, the Slime kept sleeping, completely ignoring the attack.

The Golden Claw Beast slashed wildly, cutting the Slime with its claws. Blood splattered and the scene was horrifying.

"What strong attacks! What a quick speed!" someone exclaimed, mesmerized by the Golden Claw Beast's ferocity.

John couldn't help but laugh.

"Your Slime is injured. Why are you laughing?" someone asked.

"Hey, just a reminder, Slime's blood has no color," John replied.

Everyone's eyes widened, staring at the red blood on the stage.

"It seems like the Golden Claw Beast is bleeding," someone noted.

All eyes turned to Tristan. He gritted his teeth, cold sweat dripping from his forehead, but he didn't give up. The Golden Claw Beast's attack power was strong; it must be able to hurt the Slime! So why was his contract spirit getting hurt instead?

John leisurely ate his breakfast. The Slime's strength was far beyond that of an ordinary F-level contract spirit. He had always faced strong enemies, so a level-six contract spirit was a breeze.

John grinned, "Had enough fun?"

As soon as he spoke, the Slime's eyes suddenly opened, trying to look fierce but still looking cute. It launched its charge skill!

The Golden Claw Beast, eager to attack, was instantly knocked away, its body drawing a perfect parabola before landing heavily off the stage.

"John wins!" Zane announced, sighing inwardly. He hadn't expected Tristan to be so weak. He couldn't even break through the Slime's defense, and the Golden Claw Beast was suffering from the recoil, yet it kept attacking. Such a student would be in great danger if he entered the Alternate Dimension.

John raised his eyebrows, grinning mischievously, "You're too weak."

"My name is Tristan Cole," Tristan said, clenching his fists in anger.

"I know, you're too weak," John repeated.
