Chapter 117 The Promoter of Love and Peace
John whistled as he strolled out of school.
He held no fear towards Mia in their online exchanges, let alone Zane.
"Hey, driver! Take me to the Spirit Control Bureau!" John flagged down a taxi and noticed the driver was decked out in armor. "What's with the armor?"
The driver chuckled, "Just a precaution!"
John thought, 'That's a bit much.'
An hour later, John arrived at the Spirit Control Bureau.
Seeing the place, he remembered the time they thought he was a fake drug dealer.
As soon as he walked in, Owen asked, "John, do you have a tank?"
John was confused, "What?"
"Eight criminals got squashed by something heavy. We think it was a tank."
"Owen, I don't have a tank! I wouldn't drive one around the city."
Owen's imagination was wild. He should be writing novels, not leading a squad.
Owen continued, "That's not why I called you. We found out who wants you dead."
"Who?" John asked.
"Miracle Pharmaceuticals in the city!" Owen added, "They're a big company. Any business conflicts?"
John realized it was payback, "I sold some potions on the Black Market. Maybe it hurt their business."
"That shouldn't impact them much."
"Maybe I sold too many."
"You alone couldn't sell that many..."
"I sold over two thousand bottles of Power Potion in ten days."
Owen choked on his water, "How did you sell so many?"
Now he understood why Miracle Pharmaceuticals was mad. They had just invested heavily to dominate the Power Potion market, and John messed up their plans.
Owen said, "We need evidence to arrest their management. Don't cause trouble for now."
No matter how big the company, the Spirit Control Bureau can punish them if they break the law.
"Also, the eight criminals had a total bounty of 500,000 Stellar Coins!"
Owen transferred the money to John's account.
John's eyes lit up, "Is this all? There were eight people."
Owen replied, "Not everyone is worth 100,000 Stellar Coins. 500,000 is good."
Only a level nine Beast Tamer had a 100,000 Stellar Coin bounty.
"Owen, does the Spirit Control Bureau sell tanks? With shells?"
Owen snapped, "Get lost!"
John left the Spirit Control Bureau happily with his 500,000 Stellar Coins.
John looked up Miracle Pharmaceuticals online and found out their main product was Power Potion.
With the Spirit Control Bureau stepping in, Miracle Pharmaceuticals would definitely get toast.
That meant no more Power Potions in the City of Wisdom, which was great for John, who sold them on the Black Market.
John made a call. "Hey, Tom. Gather your friends; I have a plan!"
Half an hour later, John and Tom met at a restaurant.
Besides Tom, five others who had helped John sell Power Potions before were there.
"Tom, what have you been up to?"
Tom hesitated, "Engineer."
John was surprised, "What kind?"
Tom scratched his head, "Just moving bricks at a construction site."
John sighed, "And your friends?"
Tom replied, "They all have jobs."
John sighed, "Tom, be honest."
Tom asked, "John, what do you do?"
"I'm a promoter of love and peace in the City of Wisdom."
Everyone looked confused.
John clarified, "Robber!"
Everyone stood up, shocked.
John quickly added, "I only rob bad guys! Alright, no more jokes. I have serious business."
"I'm planning to expand from a street stall to a shop in the Black Market, specializing in Power Potions. I want to hire you!"
Everyone got interested.
A shop meant a long-term job, unlike a street stall.
As long as there were Stellar Coins, they didn't care if the boss was a robber.
John explained his plan. They needed a pharmacist and employees for the shop.
John would be the pharmacist since hiring one was too expensive, and others couldn't produce enough potions.
Since he had school, the shop would only sell high-quality Power Potions, allowing him to maximize profits in limited time.
For raw materials, John would buy from the Beast Tamer Association for now.
After discussing details, they went to the Black Market in the afternoon.
"Is this shop for rent?" John asked an attendant.
John decided to rent the shop in front of him, which was spacious enough and conveniently located.
The attendant said, "Please wait, I need to find the boss."
"It's you!" John recognized the attendant. The first time he sold Power Potions, a potion worth 5,000 Stellar Coins was sold for only 3,000 Stellar Coins.
Worse, the attendant put John's potion back on the shelf with a 3,000 Stellar Coin tag in front of him, showing no respect.
John raised an eyebrow, "Is your shop going out of business?"
"Because Miracle Pharmaceuticals has been running crazy promotions, we can't sell any Power Potions."
John smiled, "That's really sad."
