Chapter 26 Counting It as a Success If One Got In

Harper said, "Fiona, Liam, Jasmine, please come out here. The rest of you will continue to review!"

Harper called out the top three students.

Although Beast Taming Class 5 had the worst grades, the top students had a chance to join the special training class.

John muttered, "It seems like he really thinks I'm a poor student."

John shook his head. 'Harper is so confused,' John thought to himself, 'he doesn't even realize there's someone with hidden talents he hasn't discovered yet.'

He yawned, preparing to take a nap.

"John, come out for a moment!"

Suddenly, a rather stern voice sounded from the classroom door.

"Mr. Stern?"

John stood up, feeling puzzled, and followed him to the office.

Mr. Stern was their teacher for Beastmaster History. He was traditional and strict, and many students were quite afraid of him.

"John, I just got into the office. How come you followed me so quickly?" Harper's mouth twitched slightly, feeling like John was everywhere.

"Mr. Stern called for me," John said, following him to a nearby desk.

"Mr. Stern, did he make a mistake again?" Harper asked.

Mr. Stern's face was grim and very serious.

Mr. Stern said, "He even cheated on a small test!"

Upon hearing this, Harper frowned.

Cheating was a big issue concerning school discipline. If handled seriously, it could result in a disciplinary record.

"John, what's going on?" Harper asked.

"Cheating? Me?" John looked bewildered. "There must be some mistake."

"Still pretending? This is your history quiz from last week!"

Mr. Stern threw out a test paper. It had no marked score, but every question was answered correctly, without a single mistake.

But the most abnormal part was that the name on it was John, the same John who had come in last in the previous exam.

"Explain to me how you went from last place to first place in just one week," Mr. Stern demanded.

Options appeared before John's eyes.

[Option 1: Nod and admit, saying, "I'm only seventeen. I just cheated once. I did nothing wrong." Reward: A small amount of Beast-Taming power]

[Option 2: Deny the cheating accusation. Reward: High school-level Beast Taming material knowledge]

Without hesitation, John spread his hands and said passionately, "I would rather stay in last place or give up entirely than cheat!"

"So you did cheat?" Harper felt a bit angry.

"No, I really didn't cheat." John sighed. "If I had to give a reason, it might be that my talent is just too good!"

"Alright, alright."

Harper knew John was about to start talking nonsense again. In fact, he didn't really believe John would cheat either.

Not because he trusted his character, but because someone who dared to score sixteen points probably wouldn't cheat.

John said, "Mr. Stern, if you don't believe me, you can test me on any history question. I really know them all."

John couldn't explain to them that it was because of the system.

The stern Mr. Stern still didn't believe John.

He picked up the test paper.

Mr. Stern asked, "When did the first Alternate Dimension appear in Auroria, and how was it suppressed?"

John replied, "Galactic Era, Year 5. The beasts inside had dark attributes, which were suppressed by the combined efforts of the top 300 people in Auroria at the time."

"What?"

Mr. Stern looked at John with a hint of surprise, scrutinizing him closely.

Mr. Stern asked, "When did the strongest Alternate Dimension in Auroria appear?"

John replied, "Galactic Era, Year 380. To this day, the Dragon's Nest in Valoria State remains the most dangerous Alternate Dimension in our country. The beasts inside have dragon bloodlines, and the First Spirit-Suppressing Legion now guards it."

Mr. Stern asked again, "In which year did Auroria face its greatest crisis?"

John answered, "Galactic Era, Year 625. Twelve Alternate Dimensions within Auroria simultaneously revolted, and countless beasts invaded. The battle lasted twelve years, with heavy casualties in all major legions, before the turmoil was finally quelled."

Seeing John answer fluently, everyone else was shocked.

Wasn't he supposed to have poor grades?

It didn't make sense.

John said, "I just wanted to live a low-profile life, but now I have no choice but to reveal myself."

John looked at homeroom teacher Harper, his eyes full of confidence.

"I'll believe you for now," Harper said, looking at John.

Mr. Stern continued to test John with various questions, partly to verify and partly to reinforce his knowledge.

Harper no longer paid attention to John. Although he was surprised by John's grasp of history, it was a minor issue for him.

The final exams didn't just test history.

Harper returned to his desk, looking at the three top students in the class.

They were the real hope of Beast Taming Class 5!

Harper coughed and said passionately, "The opportunity is right in front of you. You must consider whether this might be the only chance in your life. Reviving the glory of Beast Taming Class 5 is your unshirkable duty!"

For a moment, the three of them were filled with enthusiasm, feeling a great sense of responsibility.

John, hearing this, bluntly expressed his thoughts.

John said, "If any one of them can get into the special training class, it would be a success."
