Chapter 98 Singing Nursery Rhymes
In the afternoon, the three of them ended up in the same dorm.
Of course, this wasn't just by chance; it was Zane's call.
Originally, they were in different dorms. But after everything that went down today, Zane was worried about other students' safety, so he put the three of them together.
"So, what's the plan for the afternoon?" John asked, lying on his bed, playing games.
"I'm heading home to grab all my stuff," one of them replied, also sprawled out lazily.
"John, you can play games now? I thought you were only allowed an hour a week."
John grinned. "That was for minors. I turned 18 this summer."
Joshua perked up, "Then let's play together!"
Uriah raised an eyebrow and looked at Joshua. "Wait, Joshua, are you 18?"
"Nope, I used my grandma's ID," Joshua said proudly. "I was gaming till 3 AM last night."
John and Uriah sat up, shocked.
"Stop talking. Add me in the game already," Joshua urged.
John sighed, shaking his head at Joshua's antics.
Just as they were about to start, there was a loud knock on the door. "Open up!"
John frowned, annoyed at the interruption. He got up and opened the door to find two guys standing there.
A tall, skinny boy named Brady Elliott crossed his arms, looking smug, "You must be John, right?"
John smiled, sensing trouble.
"Brady, don't scare them," said Vaughn Declan, a strong and shirtless guy next to him, "He's the top student in cultural studies!"
John asked calmly, "What do you want?"
"Mr. Ward asked you to stay away from Ava, got it?"
John raised his eyebrows. "Mr. Ward? Who's that?"
It seemed like another love drama, but he had nothing to do with Ava. Just because she collected his homework this morning?
"Karl!" Brady replied.
John's face lit up with realization, but he immediately followed up with, "Who?"
Brady frowned, "The second top student in our grade!"
John smiled, "What do I care?"
John tried to close the door, but Brady stopped it with his hand.
They exchanged a glance and stepped into John's dorm.
"You seem a bit impatient," Brady said fiercely. Although he was a genius in special training, Beast Tamers like him were always aggressive.
"You two, get out. We need to handle something," Vaughn looked at Joshua and Uriah on the beds.
Although the three acted strangely in the morning, they were not afraid of them. They still lay slouched on the bed, looking at John.
John smiled, "You guys leave for a moment. They want to talk."
Joshua and Uriah reluctantly left the dorm.
John turned to Uriah's bed, searching for something.
"Bastard! You're too arrogant!" Vaughn shouted, reaching for John's shoulder.
In that moment, John spun around, holding a knife, and slashed at Vaughn.
Vaughn was shocked and pulled his hand back instinctively.
With eyes wide with fear, Vaughn thought, "Did you really just slash at me?"
"What do you two want?" John asked, pulling Vaughn over and pinning him under his arm.
John was tapping Vaughn's face with the knife and gently inquired, "What do you want to talk about?"
Vaughn could smell the blood on the knife, making him queasy.
Brady gritted his teeth, eyes filled with malice, "I don't believe you'd actually slash him!"
John smiled and swiftly slashed the knife toward Vaughn's private parts.
Vaughn tensed up, barely dodging the blade, "Brady! Are you stupid? Of course, you don't believe it because I'm the one getting slashed!"
Only in fear, Vaughn vented his anger at Brady, "John, stay calm. Don't be impulsive," he pleaded, forcing a smile.
John let Vaughn go and kicked him away, "Now, if either of you fights back, I'll use this knife to slash you!"
He held the knife in his left hand and swung his right hand, and then they both felt dizzy from John's slaps.
"How dare you provoke me," John said, slapping them again.
"John, I know I was wrong," Vaughn whimpered, now scared out of his wits.
John played with the knife, "Now, face the wall and start singing nursery rhymes. A hundred times!"
Brady looked distressed, "John, I really can't sing!"
"Can't sing?" John slashed, cutting Brady's clothes.
Feeling the chill on his back, Brady broke into a sweat.
John shook the knife, confident with any weapon. Maybe it was just a talent.
They started singing nursery rhymes loudly.
John slapped them again, "You sang it wrong!"
Tears welled up in their eyes. They regretted coming here and being punished by John.
John slapped them again, "You were off-key!"
He opened the dorm door and let Uriah and Joshua in.
Seeing them singing against the wall, Uriah and Joshua were impressed. They didn't expect John would subdue them so easily.
Even though Uriah had sold beef, he wasn't this ruthless. Joshua, despite his quirks, had a good heart. Even David couldn't compare to John. Only Mia might match him.
"Keep singing! If you miss a single verse, you won't leave this dorm!"
John placed the knife beside him and lazily lay on the bed, playing games with Uriah and Joshua.
He wasn't worried they'd summon their contract spirits unless they wanted to get expelled.
Seeing the three of them lying on the bed, Brady and Vaughn exchanged a glance and nodded slightly.
The next moment, they turned and tried to open the dorm door.
John swung his left hand, and the knife drew a beautiful arc.
Brady and Vaughn swallowed hard, cold sweat dripping.
The knife was embedded firmly in the wooden door!
Seeing the knife quivering, they turned back and sang nursery rhymes again.
