Chapter 14 My Name is John
Oliver's gaze locked directly onto John, clearly prepared beforehand.
He took a few steps forward, and the others didn't dare to approach, even stepping back a few paces.
After all, older students had always carried a certain aura of authority. This was a normal phenomenon in schools.
Oliver looked up slightly at John and sneered.
Oliver said, "So you're the one called John."
With that, he extended his right hand, intending to pat John's face.
John remained unfazed and instantly grabbed Oliver's wrist.
At the same time, three options appeared before his eyes.
[Option 1: Release Oliver's hand, let him pat your face, and say with a fawning smile, "Oliver, that feels great." Reward: Title 'He Who Knows the Times is a Wise Man', Effect: Increase food intake by 50%.]
[Option 2: Say seriously, "Guy, you got the wrong person. My name is David." Reward: Golden Slime size increases by 10%.]
[Option 3: Fight back directly, show your prowess. Note: Oliver is a Level 6 Beast Tamer. Reward: Skill Book: Dominant Body.]
John's mouth twitched, almost laughing out loud at the first option.
He could tolerate the demeaning content, but the reward was just too ridiculous.
A title that increased food intake.
He didn't have time to think much and directly chose the third option.
He had even beaten up a Level 9 Beast Tamer fugitive before, so a mere Level 6 Beast Tamer didn't scare him.
John's left hand held Oliver tightly while his right hand slapped him hard.
John shouted, "I'm John, so what?"
In an instant, Oliver's head twisted sharply, and his brain buzzed.
Oliver thought, 'Are students nowadays this violent? What about the school rules? What about the fear of seniors?'
Although he was a Level 6 Beast Tamer, his skinny frame was no match for John.
"You looking for trouble!" Oliver's face turned livid, his fists clenched, feeling a surge of anger rising from his chest.
John shouted, "What? Do you want to summon your contract spirit?"
John's right hand formed a palm and slapped him hard again.
According to the official Beast Taming rules, Beast Tamers were not allowed to summon their contract spirits at will.
If a contracted spirit injured someone or if there was an intentional incident, the Spirit Control Bureau would personally investigate.
To maintain social stability, Auroria had enacted various stringent laws.
"If you dare to summon your contract spirit, we'll call the Spirit Control Bureau," John's classmates from Beast Taming Class 5 threatened.
Ordinary fights were just minor scuffles, but summoning a contracted spirit to injure someone was a different matter.
"Do you have the guts to come with me to the Beast Manor?" Oliver felt a surge of anger, not expecting the other party to be so ruthless and beat him up relentlessly.
"Do you think I'm as stupid as you? Going to your place to get beaten up?"
John sneered, his tone full of sarcasm, making Oliver even angrier.
John said, "I think you've played too many online games."
Oliver asked, "What do you mean?"
Oliver, having been beaten for a while, was a bit dizzy and almost instinctively asked.
"It means you're very stupid. One last time, I'm John, do you have a problem with that?"
John lightly patted Oliver's face, looking arrogant.
Everyone was slightly stunned,
This situation made them think John was the bad guy.
"No problem." Oliver, full of frustration, finally chose to back down.
If he had known John was this strong, he would have brought more people.
Harper said, "Alright! Everyone disperse!"
At this moment, Harper leisurely walked into the classroom.
Harper asked, "John, what are you doing?"
John replied, "Mr. Adams, we're just messing around. Oliver recently leveled up in Beast Taming and wanted to spar with me."
Everyone was speechless. This excuse was too far-fetched.
No Beast Tamer would choose to fight personally after getting stronger. They would go to the Beast Manor to spar.
Harper said, "Alright, Oliver, go back to your class."
Harper nodded slightly, fully accepting the excuse.
A bruised and battered Oliver left Beast Taming Class 5, giving John a hateful look as he left.
"John, be careful. Oliver is combative and might do something desperate." Harper warned, having some impression of this senior student.
John dismissed it. "It's fine. I'm not afraid of him."
Harper felt helpless. "Stop the nonsense. Come to my office."
John's face fell, reluctantly following Harper to the office.
"John is really tough, beating up Oliver and Ethan, both of whom are quite famous at South River High School."
"Of course, Ethan is the monitor of Beast Tamer Class Three, and Oliver is a member of Beast Taming Class 1, definitely future top university students."
"Will John face retaliation? If he does, it could be dangerous."
Everyone was discussing, with some concern.
Although Beast Tamers couldn't summon their contract spirits at will in secluded places, who knew?
As long as no one was seriously injured or killed, the Spirit Control Bureau wouldn't thoroughly investigate.
"I think the chances of John being retaliated against are low," the aloof Fiona said softly.
Everyone was stunned, then felt it made sense.
Although John's Beast Taming level wasn't high, he was too cunning,
And he never played by the rules, always doing something surprising.
John explained, "Mr. Adams, I really didn't hit anyone. Oliver came to me just to discuss a problem."
Harper asked, "What problem?"
John replied, "He asked if my name was John, and I answered him kindly."
Harper was speechless. "Then how did he get those injuries on his face?"
John answered, "Every time I answered, he moved so he kept hitting his head against my hand. Honestly, I'm pretty confused by his actions as well."
Looking at John's innocent expression, Harper couldn't help but sigh.
Harper thought, 'How can you be so calm, blatantly lying with a straight face?'
Harper said, "Alright, I won't pursue it. After all, he provoked you first."
Harper had already known and didn't intervene, intending to let John teach Oliver a lesson.
Harper added. "Oliver's situation is his fault, but what you did to Ethan was wrong. Beast Tamer battles are not allowed to be fought personally by students. Otherwise, if you get hurt, your parents will worry."
If everyone behaved like John, the school would be in chaos.
Everyone was educated from a young age that the human body was fragile and they could only rely on contract spirits in battle.
Contract spirits had strong vitality and could slowly recover even from the most severe injuries.
But if a person died, then everything was over.
John explained, "Mr. Adams, I was just showing him the dangers of the world. If he goes to the Alternate Dimension, the beasts won't just target his contract spirit. If he can't protect himself, no matter how strong his contract spirit is, it's useless. Only by experiencing these things can they grow. I'm doing this to train them."
Harper was momentarily convinced, not knowing what to say.
John said, "I must have touched your soul deeply."
John clasped his hands. "Mr. Adams, take your time to understand, goodbye!"
Harper felt helpless.
