Chapter 58 Returned

Morris suddenly spoke up, "Caspar, we must have a big haul this time, right?"

They had entered Enigma Woods many times, but never had they been this lucky.

"Yes, it's about five million Stellar Coins," Caspar estimated, feeling equally excited.

"It's a pity we didn't take on the Beast Tamer Association's mission. I heard the reward is precious Interstellar Points," Morris said with a look of regret.

No one could have imagined they would successfully hunt a lord-level creature.

This trip was equivalent to the harvest of four or five previous trips. Generally, a Beast Guard's two-week adventure would yield only about one million Stellar Coins.

It might sound like a lot, but when divided among each person, a million Stellar Coins would only amount to just over a hundred thousand Stellar Coins. And these were earned at the risk of their lives, which made it sound like a loss rather than a gain.

But the greatest allure of adventuring lay in its unpredictability. If they could hunt down a lord creature or gather top-tier medicinal herbs and ores, that would be a great harvest indeed.

Of the five million Stellar Coins they earned, the Ice Rabbit Lord accounted for more than half. Its pair of blue eyes were worth two million Stellar Coins.

This was because the 'Ice Ball' skill wasn't very versatile, only suitable for water-attribute contact spirits. If it were a skill like 'Berserk,' its value would be even higher.

As they chatted, the night quickly passed.

Early the next morning, they headed towards the Spirit Guard base without stopping along the way.

Three days later, when they saw a small village, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Passing through the space portal, they safely returned to Stellar Enigma, feeling a sense of familiarity.

Although the air wasn't as fresh as in Enigma Woods, at least they didn't have to worry about their safety.

Whether it was the Steel-Toothed Rat swarm, Blood-Toothed Wild Boars, the nighttime Earthquake Bear packs, or the Ice Rabbit Lord, they all posed significant threats. A moment of carelessness could result in casualties.

"I'll transfer this haul to everyone's accounts. John, you get a share too!" Caspar said. As a high-ranking member of SourceLife Pharmaceuticals, he naturally had better channels to handle the loot.

John had originally just wanted to see the Alternate Dimension. Technically, the loot had nothing to do with him, but his contribution this time was significant, so he was treated as a team member.

"No need, Mr. Kane, no need to be so polite," John said with a smile, waving his hand. "Besides, I've already put the herbs I collected in my bag. You guys can split the Stellar Coins."

Everyone felt a bit helpless. When Morris checked his backpack, sure enough, there was only a lone second-level Iron Core Fruit left.

"You're quick," Caspar said after a long pause.

The herbs were worth about three hundred thousand Stellar Coins. Although not as practical as Stellar Coins, they were more valuable to John because he didn't have a pharmacist's license and couldn't buy herbs from regular stores.

"Let's rest tonight and head back to the City of Wisdom tomorrow morning!" Caspar said, and to celebrate, they went to a small tavern in town.

John, however, sneaked off to the Beast Tamer Association.

The staff in the mission hall were wide-eyed with surprise.

A piece of rabbit head was on the table, emitting a rich aroma that made one's mouth water.

"What's the matter? Do you think I'm joking? Hurry up and process my mission," John said calmly, tearing off a bit of rabbit meat and chewing it.

"Is this really the Ice Rabbit Lord?" The staff member was still in shock. Technically, no one would dare falsely report a mission, as it was illegal.

Moreover, the military issued a mission to hunt the Ice Rabbit Lord. If someone dared to falsely report it, they would definitely be detained.

The staff took a bit of rabbit meat to test, swallowing a mouthful of saliva at the enticing aroma.

The results came back quickly.

Not only did the staff return, but a soldier in uniform with the words 'Spirit Guard' on his shoulder accompanied her.

For a moment, all the Beast Tamers in the mission hall looked over, standing in awe.

Unlike the soldiers of Spellwood, the Spirit Guard often stayed in the Alternate Dimension and rarely left unless something major happened.

"Hello! My name is Adam Jensen!" Adam said with a slight smile, extending his right hand.

"Hello!" John also extended his hand, glancing at the rabbit head on the table. "Would you like to try some?"

Adam looked puzzled.

He shook his head and said softly, "This is indeed the Ice Rabbit Lord. Please provide your passport, and the Interstellar Points will be automatically recorded."

John wiped the oil from his hands and took out a passport.

"You're just seventeen?" Adam exclaimed, his eyes wide as he continued to stare at John.

John was taken aback and said, "Don't I look it? I'm quite young."

Adam remained silent, took out a communication device, and reported John's passport number.

After a while, Adam returned the passport to John.

Adam said, "Alright, fifty Interstellar Points have been credited to your passport. You can go to the government department to exchange them for resources at any time!"

John nodded, surprised at how simple it was.

Wasn't he worried that John might have just stumbled upon the Ice Rabbit Lord's head? In fact, this was unlikely, as the contract spirit of the killer would devour the bodies of the most fierce beasts.

"You can have this rabbit head," John said, taking his passport and quietly leaving, keeping a low profile.

The staff member remained in a state of confusion. A seventeen-year-old student had defeated the Ice Rabbit Lord.

Everyone else took this mission as a joke, but he was serious.

"Croft, which restaurant is this rabbit head from? It's well-roasted, just a bit dry, probably roasted too long," a Beast Tamer in the mission hall finally approached, having previously dared not eavesdrop on Adam and John's conversation for fear of involving classified information.

"Of course, it tastes good; you're eating the head of the Ice Hare Lord," the staff member said, raising her eyebrows.

"The Ice Rabbit Lord? You're kidding, right? That's impossible."

For a moment, the mission hall was filled with a cheerful atmosphere.
