Chapter 21 Damn, He Pulled It Off
Aisha was, at most, a few years older than him. She was so young and not even a college graduate, so she definitely wasn't a pharmacist. The most likely scenario was that she was just an assistant.
Of course, she should be related to Ava.
However, a pharmacist was an indispensable force for a pharmaceutical company.
Even Aisha needed to take him seriously now.
"What do you want?" Aisha frowned.
"At least an apology. You looked down on me from the start," John said calmly.
John thought, 'You looked down on me back then, and now I won't let you off easily.'
John said, "Besides, I can actually try to make both mid-grade and high-grade Power Potions. I'm just not very skilled yet."
His words instantly shocked Aisha.
Before she could speak, the pharmacist next to her exclaimed.
"Can you make high-grade Power Potions?"
"Of course, it's very easy for me," John said with a smile.
Aisha's eyes showed hesitation, but she finally made a decisive decision.
Aisha said, "Alright! I apologize, but if you're deceiving me, don't expect to continue working at the company."
"That's not the attitude of someone apologizing," John frowned slightly.
"Sorry," Aisha said, lowering her head.
"What? I didn't hear you because I'm not wearing my glasses," John rubbed his eyes.
Aisha thought, 'Not wearing glasses has nothing to do with not hearing.'
Aisha knew he was deliberately making things difficult for her, but talents like John were more important to the company.
Even if the higher-ups came, she would have to back down.
"I apologize for my behavior. Please forgive me!" Aisha took a deep breath and finally said sincerely.
John said, "That's more like it."
John didn't make things too difficult for her. After all, she was related to Ava, and making things more difficult would have ruined his relationship with her.
"But I'm only here for two months during the summer, as a part-time job. You can decide on my salary," John said, not caring much about the salary.
His real goal was the Power Potion. While others could only make five bottles of Power Potion at a time, he could make thirteen.
As long as he secretly kept eight bottles of Power Potion each time, he would have more than enough money. Their value would be 40,000 Stellar Coins for every 8 bottles, making the salary unimportant.
"Great! I'll draft the contract. Each potion maker is required to produce at least five potions per day. That shouldn't be a problem for you," Aisha declared.
"The company does not need for those who can't deliver. We naturally set a production quota. If you can't meet it, then you're free to leave," she added.
Five bottles of potion were easy for John. He could make that in one successful attempt.
"No problem at all," John nodded.
John asked, "Can I start working these three days? You can pay me daily."
"Of course," Aisha turned and left the potion-making department.
While Aisha might have come across as aloof, she was certainly efficient in handling matters.
She quickly drafted a contract specifically for John.
His position was just a pharmacist assistant because John needed a pharmacist's certificate.
But his salary was at a pharmacist's level, with a daily income of 1,000 Stellar Coins.
Although it sounded like a lot, the profit from five bottles of Power Potion alone was about 5,000 Stellar Coins.
This meant the company took 80%, and the pharmacist got 20%.
Of course, the contract had an attractive point.
If you could make more than five bottles of potion from one set of ingredients, the extra potion belonged to the pharmacist. Therefore, no monitoring was installed in each lab.
As long as you provided five bottles of potion daily, nothing else mattered.
Although the company didn't pay much, it left high-level pharmacists a chance to make money.
If you couldn't make money, it only showed your potion-making skills needed to be improved.
With this contract, both the company and the pharmacists benefited, making it a true win-win situation.
John didn't hesitate to sign the contract with the company.
Because he could make potions independently, the company prepared a separate lab for him.
As for those who shared a lab, they were mostly recent college graduates doing internships.
With the system's help, John found potion-making easier than others from the start.
As long as he kept unlocking new potion recipes, he could become the world's top pharmacist.
In one afternoon, others could usually only succeed once, producing just five bottles of potion.
Making potions was an extremely taxing task, both mentally and physically. Most potion makers went bald by the time they reached thirty due to the strain.
But John's desk was filled with twenty bottles of potion.
"Not bad!" John clapped his hands.
He had already stored forty bottles of Power Potion in the system space, which was more profitable than robbing a bank.
John said, "Evan, help me apply for a fifth set of ingredients. I want to make another batch."
The assistant at the door walked in, eyes full of disbelief.
Evan asked, "John, aren't you tired?"
"Not at all. I feel great! What's up?" John looked at Evan, who was in charge of preparing his ingredients.
Evan said, "The company has no more Power Flowers."
"That's all? How can there be so few!" John raised an eyebrow, surprised that the company was limiting his performance.
Just then, a stern-faced middle-aged man walked in, followed by a young woman with delicate features.
It was Ava.
"Ava, what brings you here?" John asked, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
"I came with my uncle Michael," Ava said.
"This must be your classmate, right? Truly a talented young man!" The middle-aged man next to Ava exclaimed, "I'm Ava's uncle, Michael Blake. Nice to meet you!"
"Mr. Blake, nice to meet you," John shook his hand warmly.
"I heard you successfully made four batches of Power Potion this afternoon," Michael said, still in disbelief.
"Basic operation. It's very normal for me!" John waved his hand, looking calm.
Everyone had the same thought, 'Damn, he's so arrogant!'
After a while, Michael said, "In that case, you'll be the sole maker of Power Potions for now, but the company can only provide three sets of ingredients per day."
The main ingredient, Power Flower, came from an Alternate Dimension. SourceLife Pharmaceuticals was just a big company in the City of Wisdom and didn't have the qualifications to buy large quantities of Power Flowers.
Three Power Flowers were the most they could get daily.
Moreover, the company's products included various potions, not just Power Potions so that they couldn't allocate all their funds to this.
"No problem." John nodded. Three sets of Power Flowers would allow him to make an extra twenty-four bottles of Power Potion, which meant a daily income of 100,000 Stellar Coins, almost equivalent to a high-level pharmacist.
Michael said, "Alright, John, I've decided. Your daily salary will be doubled and paid on the same day."
Michael smiled, pleased to have found such talent for the company.
By paying just 60,000 Stellar Coins a month, they could get returns worth hundreds of thousands of Stellar Coins. For a businessman, this was a huge profit.
"Have you ever thought about becoming a professional pharmacist? The company can hire you long-term with a salary and benefits that will surely satisfy you," Michael said expectantly.
At that moment, a new option appeared before John's eyes.
