Chapter 96 Being Talented Does Give You Some Leeway

"Wait, are you really Uriah?!" John looked around, still trying to wrap his head around it. An old man turning into a student? No way.

Uriah just raised an eyebrow. "Why can't you tell it's me?"

John shook his head. "Honestly, I couldn't."

"Yeah, it's kinda magical." Joshua, just as shocked, added, "Even with the age difference, that sleazy look and beefy smell give it away. It's definitely him."

Uriah shrugged. "I just look a bit more mature."

They all laughed and headed back to the classroom.

With the new special training class, the seniors got shuffled into different groups.

The old Beast Taming Class 1 room was now for the special training class.

The room was almost packed. The three of them strolled to the back like they owned the place.

John didn't know many people in the special training class, just Ava, Fiona, Evelyn, and the two guys next to him.

"John, hand over your homework."

Ava walked up to him. As the former monitor of Beast Taming Class 1, she was on homework duty right away.

John shrugged, "I don't have any. I'm from Beast Taming Class 5, and our teacher didn't assign any."

Ava sighed, just as she expected, "Then where did Fiona's homework come from?"

Joshua and Uriah chimed in, "Come on, John, just hand it over. We know you did it."

John twitched his mouth, feeling reluctant, "Why don't you ask them?"

"We're transfer students!" Joshua and Uriah puffed up, looking smug.

"Is this the privilege of transfer students?!" John groaned, "Ava, considering our closeness, you don't need to report my name. Can't you just pretend I already handed it in?"

As monitor, Ava wanted all the homework, "Did you not do any homework during the entire summer vacation?"

"I did half of it before sleeping last night," John scratched his head.

"And the other half?"

"When I woke up, I realized the first half was just a dream."

Ava twitched her mouth, speechless.

John pleaded, "Ava, just say you collected them all and just hand them in."

"The teacher's not dumb; they'll find out!"

"It's no big deal. David only collected three assignments in a class of dozens before and he told the teacher he had collected them all."

Joshua and Uriah were shocked. "He really said that? That's gutsy!"

Ava asked, "Did the teacher believe him?"

"Of course not."

Just then, a tall and thin man in a short-sleeved shirt and black-rimmed glasses walked in, looking serious.

"Ava, go back. You don't need to collect John's homework."

The room fell silent as he entered.

"I'll be your head teacher for this year. I'm Zane Alexander."

John rolled his eyes, thinking he'd never seen this teacher before; he must be new at this school.

City of Wisdom High School really spent lots of Stellar Coins on this class.

A bespectacled student, Tristan Cole, spoke up, "Mr. Alexander! Handing in homework is a student's duty; no one should be an exception."

John squinted, 'Guy, you're really irritating me on the first day.'

Zane grinned, "John's academic score is 396. If anyone can score above 390, they can skip the academic homework!"

"As long as you're good enough, you get perks!"

Tristan wasn't having it. "Mr. Alexander, just because you're talented doesn't mean you can ignore the rules."

Zane shrugged. "Sorry, but being talented does give you some leeway!"

John couldn't help but smirk. He didn't expect Mr. Alexander to be this cool.

Zane addressed the class, "Listen up, you're in the special training class! If your grades are top-notch, you can bend the rules a bit!"

"Of course, I mean school rules. If you harm others, the Spirit Control Bureau will handle you," he added.

Seeing no objections, Zane nodded in satisfaction.

"You might've noticed, the special training class has over twenty students. The school specifically recruited outstanding transfer students."

Zane glanced around the room and nodded at a few students.

Four of them stood up and walked to the front.

"Evelyn, her contract spirit is an A-level fire elemental spirit! Her Beast Taming talent is top-notch!"

Evelyn smiled and nodded. She looked kind but cool.

"Xavier James, his contract spirit is an A-level earth dragon, and his Beast Taming talent is excellent!"

Xavier, an ordinary-looking boy, seemed very arrogant.

No matter when, dragon-type contract spirits were not simple, even if it was a low-bloodline dragon.

Obviously, the classmates all looked over. No wonder the school specifically recruited him.

"Uriah! His contract spirit is a B-level insect butterfly, skilled in searching!"

Many thought he was weak. Most of the special training class had B-level spirits, so they clearly looked down on Uriah.

At that moment, a metallic clink was heard, and many looked over.

Many were immediately scared, with a hint of fear in their eyes.

A knife had fallen out of Uriah's clothes, with dark bloodstains on the blade, so people thought about human blood.

For students, this could be a weapon.

"Sorry, sorry, my occupational habit! I accidentally brought the knife with me."

Uriah picked up the knife, and his whole demeanor suddenly became a bit menacing.

Everyone's faces turned pale, praying Uriah didn't notice their earlier disdain.

Zane twitched his mouth. He didn't expect someone would bring a knife to school.

"Don't mind it, guys. Now, the last transfer student isJoshua! His contract spirit is an A-level mutated thunderbird, with brilliant talent."

Joshua looked much more normal. He smiled shyly, which made people feel good about him.

Uriah nudged him with his elbow and whispered, "Your clothes are messy."

"Sorry!" Joshua smiled shyly and straightened his clothes. Under his white shirt, he was wearing a blue and white striped hospital gown!

It was obvious at a glance that it was a mental patient's outfit.

Everyone in the class was shocked. The school really did anything, even recruited students from a mental hospital!

"Don't worry, everyone! I was just working part-time during the summer."

Joshua smiled slightly. What was once a shy and gentle smile now seemed so abnormal.

Mental patients always smiled like that.
