Chapter 108 Don't Be So Arrogant

John was in a mad rush to save Karl while the stage battle was winding down.

Evelyn and Ava both had A-level fire spirits, but Evelyn was struggling.

This really showed the gap between having resources and not.

Evelyn had given up most of her resources for her sister and even borrowed from loan sharks, making her life pretty rough.

Her fire spirit wasn't fully powered up with Flame Potion, so it was weaker than the Firebird.

The match ended, and everyone turned to look.

Karl was wrapped up in white bandages, lying there looking oddly peaceful.

"What's up with Karl? Why's he all wrapped up like that?"

"Yeah, what happened to him?"

People noticed Karl's blackened crotch and felt bad for him.

John shook his head, looking like he was mourning his friend.

He said softly, "Mr. Ward, if you pay me Stellar Coin, I'll come to your funeral in black, with sunglasses, and sing for you."

Karl's body twitched violently at this, "I won't let you get away with this!"

"If you're not feeling well, don't think about revenge. Just rest up!" John then covered Karl's head with the remaining bandages.

"Where's the injured?" Two school nurses walked in with medical kits.

Zane had called the infirmary right away. If John kept messing around, Karl might get seriously hurt, though he already had some mental trauma.

"We need to get him to the infirmary!" The nurses winced at his injuries.

John said, "Mr. Ward, you should go to the infirmary first. I don't think you can continue the match!"

"Wait!" Karl got up weakly but tried to show strength.

"Let me continue the match!" He pointed to an empty corner, "John, you're done for! I won't let you get away with this!"

Everyone wanted to laugh because Karl, blinded by bandages, didn't know where John was.

"Mr. Ward, you're pointing the wrong way," Brady awkwardly corrected him.

Karl said, "Alright, let the match continue!"

Zane saw Karl's miserable state but knew he'd easily recover with the advanced medical technology available today.

Zane continued, "Next match! Karl versus Joshua!"

Karl removed the bandages, staring at Joshua.

Karl never wanted to experience the humiliation inflicted by John and his friends again.

"I'll get my revenge, starting with you," Karl was held into a wheelchair, ready to fight again.

But as he got excited, he pulled on his crotch, wincing in pain.

Classmates laughed. The once top student was a mess thanks to John.

Joshua summoned his contract spirit, a majestic mutated Thunderbird which started preening its feathers.

The Wind Beast appeared, sensing its owner's anger, and became fierce.

The Wind Beast screeched, provoking the Thunderbird.

The Thunderbird spat saliva, which the Wind Beast narrowly dodged, not expecting such nastiness.

The Thunderbird started shaking its butt, basically saying, "This is truly provocation!"

The Wind Beast got furious. Its wings glowed green, boosting its speed, and it lunged at the Thunderbird.

"You think you can match my bird's speed?" Joshua smirked as the Thunderbird widened the gap with a flap of its wings.

Even though both were A-level flying spirits, there was a speed difference.

"You can't waste time now," Karl sneered. The Wind Beast didn't chase but let out a clear cry.

A green light flashed, like teleportation, and hit the Thunderbird.

It was the Wind Beast's innate skill, Wind Bind, great against fast spirits.

The Thunderbird, once lightning-fast, slowed down, now slower than the Wind Beast.

"Even if I lose, I'll humiliate you!" Joshua stayed calm. He never aimed to win the championship.

The Thunderbird's eyes glowed with lightning. Its speed briefly counteracting Wind Bind.

But it was temporary. Once the skill wore off, it would slow down again.

The Thunderbird locked onto a part of the Wind Beast's body.

Its wings flapped, attacking the Wind Beast.

"You're asking for it!" Karl shouted. The Wind Beast's claws glowed with wind power, clearly another combat skill.

Three skills in total, fitting for an A-level spirit.

If its claws hit, it would be game over.

But the Thunderbird's speed was extreme, circling the Wind Beast with lewd, malicious eyes.

"Got it!" Joshua exclaimed. The Thunderbird's eyes glowed blue, and its claws struck, hitting the private parts of the Wind Beast.

Everyone knew this weak spot wasn't just a human thing.

The Thunderbird's attack wasn't strong, and the Wind Beast's defense was weak.

It wouldn't be seriously injured, but it would hurt a lot!

The Wind Beast's eyes bulged in pain, its body shaking, almost falling.

Everyone below shuddered. This Thunderbird was nasty.

Karl looked grim, reminded of his earlier pain.

Others pitied Karl. He had just felt the pain, and now his spirit did too.

Meeting John and his friends, it's better to accept fate early.

"Why do you have to be so arrogant!" Joshua clenched his fists, cheering for the Thunderbird.

"Remember my Thunderbird, and avoid it next time."

The Thunderbird, using its speed boost, kept hitting the Wind Beast's private parts, trampling its dignity.

Miserable cries echoed in Beast Manor.

The school nurses winced and thought, 'Was this really a Beast Tamer competition?'

"Alright! I'll let you go for now!" Joshua, seeing the skill's duration ending, withdrew his spirit.

Karl's heart felt like it was stabbed, and he was suffocating, his body twitching as if he were losing his mind.

In the first match of the special training class, the biggest change was that Karl and his Wind Beast were no longer arrogant.
