Chapter 42 Supply Chain Crisis

John returned home, and to celebrate the successful end of his final exams, Sebastian specially invited David's family and Mia's parents.

The three families had always been very close, but unfortunately, Mia was now at the Quantum Academy of Techno-Magic and couldn't return to the City of Wisdom.

"In the blink of an eye, I can't believe John and David are about to be seniors in high school," Mia's father, Beckett Aldwin said. He had dark skin and a sincere smile on his face.

Carter shook his head with a smile. "Yeah, but it's a pity their talents aren't as good as Mia's."

An S-class contract spirit had a huge impact on a Beast Tamer.

"I don't think so. John and David are both exceptional. Even if they can't become powerful Beast Tamers, they'll excel in other fields," Beckett said seriously, refuting Carter's view.

Sebastian laughed and said, "Young people have their own experiences. We shouldn't interfere too much."

Even though Mia was very talented, the three families remained close and friendly.

Beckett said, "It's a pity Mia can't come back for the summer; otherwise, the three of you could hang out together."

John asked, "Can't Mia come back for the summer vacation?"

John frowned with a look of regret in his eyes.

"Her Beast Taming team took on a last-minute Alternate Dimension mission, so she probably won't be able to come back," Beckett explained, thinking John missed Mia.

John sighed. John thought, 'If Mia can't come back, then she can't help me get revenge.'

"David, aren't you upset?" John nudged David with his elbow.

"Hold on. I'm playing a game," David said, engrossed in his phone.

John glanced over and was shocked.

John said, "How can you be so bad at this game?"

John thought, 'Your gaming skills are terrible.'

"I'm scared. I don't dare to go into battle," David explained.

John felt helpless.

The three families enjoyed their time together, reminiscing about old times. After dinner, they each went home.

Early the next morning, John went to Andrew's shop.He asked, "Mr. Kane, do you have any Iron Core Fruits in the store?"

Having just unlocked the defense potion recipe, he naturally wanted to make it.

"We have two in stock. I'll get them for you," Aldrich said, coming out with two black fruits in hand. "We don't have any Giant Fruits at the moment."

Andrew's shop mainly sold materials from Stellar Enigma, but occasionally, they received Alternate Dimension materials from others.

Most Beast Guards had their own sales channels, such as partnerships with large families or companies.

Many Beast Tamers chose to sell to the government, which offered benefits and subsidies, even if the prices were lower than those of other enterprises.

"Thank you, Mr. Kane."

John nodded and put away the two Iron Core Fruits. "If you get any Power Flowers, Iron Core Fruits, or Giant Fruits, please save them for me. I'm willing to pay a high price."

After purchasing the two Iron Core Fruits, John immediately went to SourceLife Pharmaceuticals.

"John, you're here." Assistant Evan asked, sighing inwardly.

After all, he was a graduate of Beast Taming University, yet he was working as an assistant to a high school student. It was quite embarrassing.

"Yes," John nodded.

With summer vacation already started, John had made his plans early.

In the morning, he would make potions at the pharmaceutical company. In the afternoon, he would sell the extra potions at the Black Market. In the evening, he would wander around to trigger system options.

Ten days flew by.

John earned nearly a million Stellar Coins through potions, an amount that would astonish many.

Although he earned a lot, his expenses were also high.

Unable to buy raw materials, he had to purchase regular potions from shops.

Of course, he didn't buy defense potions or size potions since he could make those himself, but he needed time to wait for the raw materials.

John spent all his Stellar Coins on basic cell potions to enhance the vitality and recovery speed of his golden Slime.

Although his contract spirit became much stronger, he ran out of Stellar Coins.

John thought he would spend his entire summer buying and selling potions.

But early the next morning, Ava's uncle, Michael came in with three Power Flowers and some bad news.

"John, these are the last three Power Flowers the company has," Michael said, sighing lightly.

John immediately asked, "What? The company is going out of business so soon?"

Michael's mouth twitched, "You really speak your mind."

Michael thought, 'After all, you're an employee of the company. You should hope for its success.'

Michael sighed and said, "The company's Power Flower contract has expired. It will take some time to acquire more."

"Didn't they renew the contract?" John asked, puzzled.

John thought, 'Logically, such a big company shouldn't have this kind of issue. If the Power Potion supply is cut off, it will definitely impact the company.'

Michael answered, "A new force signed a contract with the materials company, beating us to it."

Michael's eyes showed a hint of anger. For a pharmaceutical company, running out of raw materials was a big problem.

John asked, "Alright, does the company produce any defense potions or size potions?"

John didn't understand business. He just wanted to know if he could still make potions.

If SourceLife Pharmaceuticals couldn't provide Power Flower, his plan to earn Stellar Coin would fall through.

He was just a student with no connections and no pharmacist certificate, making it difficult to reliably purchase materials from the Alternate Dimension.

Michael said awkwardly, "Those two potions are the company's bestsellers, so they probably don't need extra help."

Since they were the main products, the pharmacists responsible for making them had high salaries and benefits. They wouldn't let a summer intern join in, as it would cause dissatisfaction among other pharmacists. Besides, John was just a high school student.

"I'll find a new materials company to work with as soon as possible," Michael reassured, patting John's shoulder. "Your salary won't be stopped."

John shook his head. John thought, 'My focus is on the potions, not the salary.'

A small salary no longer satisfied John.

Michael candidly said, "The company's Beast Guard is going to make a trip to the Alternate Dimension soon. We should be able to gain something."

As he finished speaking, options appeared in John's eyes again.

[Option 1: Apply to join the company's Beast Guard on their Alternate Dimension adventure. Reward: Contract spirit exclusive skill book]

[Option 2: Say, 'Then hurry up and set off!' Reward: Moderate amount of Beast-Taming power]
