Chapter 49 Is Cumin Better or Spicy

They walked along the main road for two hours, and everything around them remained peaceful without any sign of danger.

Caspar said, "Everyone, stay focused now!"

Caspar led the team off the main road onto a smaller path, surrounded by overgrown weeds. Everyone became more vigilant.

Another half hour of walking.

John and Ava were in the middle of the group. John crossed his arms behind his head, but his eyes kept scanning the surroundings.

John said, "Mr. Kane, this branch is moving!"

John suddenly noticed a branch on a tree above him slowly wriggling.

The experienced Caspar immediately reacted and shouted, "The branch is moving! Be careful!"

John's eyes widened as he saw the branch suddenly transform into a large snake, baring its fangs and lunging at him.

The snake was nearly 6.6 feet long, exuding an aura of ferocity and emitting a foul stench.

Suddenly, the snake's previously fierce eyes widened as if about to burst.

A massive creature, about 20 feet wide, appeared and pinned the snake down.

John asked, "What is that thing?"

The snake felt a deep sense of despair, thinking it had found prey, but it was crushed by a giant Slime that fell from the sky.

Everyone was shocked to see a Slime appear out of nowhere, sound asleep.

John breathed a sigh of relief, thankful for his quick reaction.

Despite the intense pain, the snake launched a counterattack, its head darting forward to bite John's leg.

John strategically jumped back, just out of the snake's attack range.

"I'm back again." John took another step forward, taunting the snake.

"The snake can't hit me again," John continued to taunt the snake.

"I'm back again."

Watching John continuously jump around, everyone felt helpless. Who exactly was John? They were all very puzzled.

At that moment, the humiliated snake let out a desperate hiss and finally died.

Caspar said, "It's just a level-five mimic snake. It was unlucky to encounter John."

Caspar sighed, and the black wolf beside him opened its mouth wide and swallowed the snake.

Although John's actions were despicable, it was undeniable that his reactions were quick, and the Slime's combat power was impressive, but he was still very despicable.

They continued their journey, walking for another hour.

Ava looked a bit tired. After all, she was just a girl and naturally couldn't match the physical strength of the others.

Fortunately, the flame bird had developed some ability to carry people, although this would affect its combat power somewhat. Combat wasn't really needed.

Just as Ava was about to sit on the Flame Bird, John suddenly said with concern, "Ava, let me carry your backpack."

"No need."

Ava shook her head, refusing his offer.

"It's okay. Let me tell you something: I've also joined the senior year special training class, so we'll be classmates from now on."

John patted his chest, took Ava's backpack, and then swiftly sat on the Flame Bird.

The Flame Bird's eyes looked resentful, as if realizing John's ulterior motives.

Ava asked, "Did you get into the special training class?"

Ava's mouth opened slightly in surprise.

"Of course, I got in by accident." John laughed, then patted the Fame Bird's warm back. "You can start flying now."

It was only then that Ava realized John had somehow already sat down.

The Flame Bird wasn't very large, but it could carry two people.

"Let's go." Caspar sighed, already used to John's strange behavior.

Now that John was already seated, it was impossible to get him off.

"Mr. Kane, are your backpacks heavy? I can help carry them."

John waved his hand, feeling light as a feather.

The flame bird suddenly opened its mouth, and its body temperature rose significantly.

"Don't get excited. Don't get excited," John patted the bird's back, calming it.

He looked up, suddenly startled, and stared ahead. "There's a Power Flower!"

Everyone's expressions changed, and they looked in the same direction.

Hundreds of feet away, three Power Flowers were swaying in the wind, looking extremely enticing.

"Your eyesight is really sharp," Morris was surprised at John's keen vision.

"Keep your voice down!"

Caspar's face was serious. Fierce beasts usually guarded rare herbs or minerals.

Caspar said, "Morris, let the ironback beast go ahead of us and check out the area."

The ironback beast, resembling a giant lizard, walked on its sturdy four legs towards the Power Flowers.

Just as it was about to get close, large ice balls suddenly appeared.

In the grass behind the Power Flowers, many wild rabbits emerged.

Their eyes were blue, and they kept spitting out large ice balls.

The ironback beast, already slow, seemed almost immobilized, barely able to move.

But it was called the iron back beast because of its incredible back defense, which not only reduced physical damage but also was highly resistant to magical attacks.

A total of nine ice rabbits appeared, continuously spitting ice balls, keeping the ironback beast in place.

Without assistance, the ironback beast would surely be worn down to death.

Caspar gave a light command, and the black wolf beside him suddenly kicked its hind legs and dashed forward at high speed.

John, sitting on the Flame Bird, watched the black wolf closely.

With his high school Beast Tamer knowledge, he immediately recognized the black wolf as a C-level rift claw wolf, which evolved from a D-level claw wolf.

The iron-level Claw Wolf could easily kill the ice rabbits ahead, as the strongest ice rabbit was only a level eight beast.

As expected, the Claw Wolf let out a roar, and its front claws suddenly glowed with a deep black light.

That was its innate skill, 'Rend Claw'!

The ice rabbits also sensed the iron-level aura, their blue eyes filled with panic, but it was too late to escape.

Two ice rabbits were instantly torn apart, blood splattering everywhere.

Ava couldn't help but gasp at the sight but forced herself to keep watching.

It was also her first time in the Alternate Dimension. Although she was already a level seven Beast Tamer, she had never killed a beast.

Seeing this scene naturally made her uncomfortable, but she forced herself to get used to it. A Beast Tamer who couldn't fight was a waste of resources.

Ava glanced at John, wanting to see his reaction, as they were the same age.

But to her surprise, John swallowed a large gulp and muttered to himself, "How should we cook their meat?"
