Chapter 110 This Request Is Not Excessive
John, looking pretty ticked off, said, "Slime, quit staring at its butt! Even if we lose, we gotta lose with some dignity!"
Slime rolled its round body, pressing its face to the ground.
Karl, feeling all smug, smirked, "You can't fly, that's why!"
Seeing Slime puff up, Karl got even more cocky, wanting to humiliate John further.
Suddenly, there was a sound of wind on the stage, but nearly no one noticed.
Zane, however, was intrigued and smiled, anticipating something.
Given John's personality, if he couldn't win, he would have admitted defeat long ago. He wouldn't let himself suffer for nothing.
John hated two things: being at a disadvantage and letting others get away with it.
"Slime must be really mad now," Karl looked at John, eager to see his reaction.
"Mr. Ward, let's step back in case it explodes."
"Does Slime think it can fly like a balloon?"
Brady and the others mocked John, trying to provoke him.
Just then, a loud crash echoed on the stage.
Karl turned, stunned, muttering, "My bird was knocked away?"
The Wind Beast was spitting blood, eyes bulging.
And beside it, a terrifying yellow ball was flying at high speed! It looked like a real missile!
"No way, I must be seeing things. Slime is flying," Karl shook his head, rubbed his eyes, and looked again.
"This hallucination is lasting too long," Karl frowned, trying to clear his mind.
After a while, the Wind Beast was gone, and Slime was sitting on the ground, looking innocent.
Karl sighed in relief, "So it was just a hallucination."
"Where's my Wind Beast?" he frowned, searching for it.
Brady whispered, "Mr. Ward, it wasn't a hallucination. It was real."
Vaughn added, "Yeah, we all saw it. That Slime really flew."
"Impossible, then where's my Wind Beast?" Karl couldn't believe it.
A huge creature flying that fast? No way!
"Your Wind Beast is being crushed by Slime."
Karl's eyes widened, looking at Slime on the stage. Slime was writhing, crushing something.
"You cheated!" Karl was furious, unable to accept it.
The Wind Beast, so dominant before, was crushed by Slime in an instant?!
"I didn't cheat, and Slime has no flying device. It just used a skill, probably one that could made you look like an idiot."
Karl clenched his fists, his Wind Beast helpless against Slime.
John crossed his arms, sneering, "Mess with Slime, and I won't let you off."
"Alright! John wins!" Zane stepped up and announced the result.
As an experienced Iron-level Beast Tamer, he quickly assessed the battle.
Slime definitely had a sealing skill. Otherwise, the Wind Beast wouldn't be so helpless.
He was shocked, 'An F-level Slime with both giant and sealing skills? That's rare.'
What was more impressive was John's control over the skills; he had got Slime flying by combining a bunch of skills.
Even Iron-level Beast Tamers struggled with that.
Zane thought, "John is very talented!"
He noted Slime's potential rating, thinking if John had an A or B-level contract spirit, he'd recruit him for the Quantum Academy of Techno-Magic.
"Zane, wait! Don't announce the result yet!" John approached Zane, saying, "I need to discuss something with you."
"What is it?" Zane frowned, sensing something was up.
John assured, "No bad intentions, I promise!"
Zane said, "Go ahead."
John quickly said, "Can my Slime fight your contract spirit? I'll be careful!"
Zane's expression remained calm, "Is that all?"
John added, "And could you give the young people a chance? I want to be the head teacher of the special training class!"
He covered his head, expecting a hit from Zane. But nothing happened.
John peeked and saw Zane smiling and nodding.
Zane said, "Let's start with the first request!"
A giant snake appeared on the stage, its aura far stronger than the students' contract spirits.
Slime couldn't resist, getting entangled and its defense shattered instantly.
John recalled Slime back to the Beast Taming space.
John thought, 'You really don't deserve to be a teacher; you're so petty. I just wanted to beat your contract spirit and ask you to resign. This request is not excessive!'
Zane smiled, "Do you still want me to resign now?"
John laughed nervously, "Just joking, Zane."
"Alright!" Zane put away the giant snake. "Today's competition is over. The top three are John, Karl, and Ava. I'll rank the rest based on your performance."
The top three were decided, but the rest needed ranking since they hadn't competed against each other.
"Honestly, your performance today was disappointing!" Zane's face turned serious, "Most of you fought like you were playing a game.
"Karl, you had a great advantage but were easily defeated by John. Reflect on yourself!
"Ava, when your Firebird used Fireball, you should've paused and looked for another chance to fire. You wasted the skill!
"John, your Slime is too ugly!"
John felt helpless.
