Chapter 50 There Are Many Groundhogs

Ava smacked her forehead. "I can't believe I thought John would be scared."

The Claw Wolf let out a roar and instantly killed three more Ice Rabbits.

Seeing the remaining five Ice Rabbits trying to escape, the Claw Wolf's body emitted a ghostly light, and its speed suddenly increased dramatically.

Obviously, it was a combat skill!

None of the remaining five Ice Rabbits survived; they all became corpses.

The Claw Wolf's eyes held a bloodthirsty color. With its mouth wide open, it was ready to swallow its prey.

"Claw Wolf, stop!"

John stood up and shouted loudly, causing the Claw Wolf to shudder.

After speaking, John, holding a large bag, jumped off the back of the Flame Bird and, under the Claw Wolf's resentful gaze, put the Ice Rabbit corpses into the bag.

'Who is he, daring to snatch my food, and I hunted all of these,' the Claw Wolf thought.

The Claw Wolf felt bitter, but with Caspar's orders, it could only look on pitifully, drooling with envy.

"John, ordinary Ice Rabbits aren't worth much," Caspar couldn't help but say. Even if it were brought back to sell to a restaurant in Spellwood, it would be worth at most a few hundred Stellar Coins per piece.

John replied seriously, "I know, but aren't you guys hungry now?"

John then took out various iron rods and stands from his backpack, assembling a grill.

Caspar said, "Wait! Hold on!"

Caspar's mouth twitched, feeling very confused.

Caspar thought, 'John, this is Enigma Woods. We're not here for a camping trip.'

Caspar said, "It's daytime, and our time is limited!"

Caspar seemed to think of the delicious Ice Rabbits and gulped secretly, saying, "Even if we're hungry, we have to wait until night!"

John looked disappointed and put the grill away.

However, the Ice Rabbits were nearly 3.3 feet long, and a large bag could only hold two. If they didn't cook them on the spot, it would be hard to carry them.

John said, "Claw Wolf, you can have a few."

John threw five Ice Rabbits to the Claw Wolf and placed the remaining four on the Ironback Beast's back.

Everyone was a bit hungry, so no one stopped John's actions.

With the Claw Wolf responsible for combat, the others only had little to do, mainly increasing their teamwork since they all belonged to the Beast Guard and would face many powerful beasts in the future.

The Claw Wolf devoured the Ice Rabbits, looking satisfied and alert to the surroundings.

Caspar approached a Power Flower, ready to pick it.

"Let me do it!"

John ran over, holding a delicate silver trowel.

"The textbook says it's best to use silver tools to pick the Power Flower. Otherwise, it might lose its medicinal properties."

Caspar was slightly stunned and smiled. "You're pretty good with material science."

John carefully dug up the Power Flower and said, "Of course, my academic score is 396."

Caspar said, "You scored 396? Impossible."

Caspar looked disdainful. In his mind, he thought, 'Even the most accomplished in liberal arts would struggle to score over 380 because the final question isn't something an average person could solve.'

"Believe it or not," John ignored him, dug up three Power Flowers, and calmly put them in his backpack.

Caspar felt helpless.

Caspar thought, 'His actions are so swift. He must do it often.'

Seeing Caspar's look, John explained, "I know how to store them. Let me keep them for now."

Caspar felt helpless and told everyone, "Let's rest for a while."

Then, Caspar took out a small blue bottle and sprayed it around.

A strange smell spread, instantly eliminating the blood scent in the air.

John said, "Mr. Kane, your air freshener is amazing!"

John's eyes sparkled, surprised by its magic.

Caspar remained silent; it wasn't an air freshener.

Everyone replenished their energy and recovered their strength. Half an hour later, they set off again.

But when they had only traveled about 0.62 miles, the crows in the sky let out frightened and noisy cries.

"Caspar, something's wrong! There's danger ahead!" one of the Beast Tamer said, looking pale and terrified.

Caspar's expression changed dramatically, and he shouted, "Fly up quickly!"

In an instant, everyone's contract spirits disappeared and returned to the Beast Taming space, even the Claw Wolf.

A large gray eagle suddenly appeared, exuding a Black iron-level aura, clearly Caspar's second contract spirit.

"Ava, make the Flame Bird fly as high as it can!" Caspar instructed while letting the rest of the team board the gray eagle.

The gray eagle flapped its wings, carrying six people, struggling but eventually flying up.

Ava also gave some commands to the Flame Bird.

The Flame Bird, originally flying low, flapped its wings. With a few flashes of faint red light, it soared to the treetops.

It was the Flame Bird's other skill, 'Wing Flap,' temporarily boosting its flight.

Almost as they flew up, the ground trembled slightly, leaves fell, and a deadly crisis swept in.

Sharp screeches spread like silent electric currents, making their scalps tingle.

The tremors grew stronger as if a giant beast was trampling the earth.

John, still holding onto the two Ice Rabbits tightly, looked ahead through the falling leaves.

His eyes widened like saucers, and he exclaimed, "Oh my God, there are so many groundhogs below!"
