Chapter 11 I Approved of You

At a stall, various exotic flowers and plants were displayed, looking extremely unique.

John asked, "Sir, how much for the Power Flower?"

The owner replied, "Five thousand Stellar Coins!"

Just as John was inquiring, options suddenly appeared before his eyes.

[Option 1: Loudly question the owner why it's a fake. Reward: Moderate Beast-Taming power]

[Option 2: Don't expose the owner. Give up on buying. Reward: Golden Slime size increases by 10%]

[Option 3: Angrily question the owner: "Using paint to fake a Power Flower is too much." Reward: Mid-grade wind attribute potion]

John was speechless, not expecting that many things in the Black Market were fake.

As he was pondering which option to choose, a familiar voice suddenly rang out, "Sir, I'll take it. I'll pay ten thousand Stellar Coins!"

John muttered, "How can there be such a fool, so eager to buy a fake?"

John was stunned. Someone was actually buying the fake flower.

He turned around and saw it was Ethan, a Class Three Beast Tamer.

Ethan's face was still scarred, and his eyes were filled with hatred.

Ethan shouted, "John, you bastard. You ambushed me."

"What are you talking about?" John looked confused.

Ethan said, "I'll remember you. I won't let you off."

Ethan glared at John fiercely. "You want the Power Flower. Impossible."

The Power Flower, a core ingredient for making Power Potions, was rarely seen at the stalls in the Black Market.

Only larger shops had a small stock of it, but the price was too high.

John said, "Then I'll pay fifteen thousand Stellar Coins."

Ethan said, "Don't tell me you actually have fifteen thousand Stellar Coins."

John retorted, "None of your business."

"Twenty thousand Stellar Coins!" Ethan gritted his teeth and said.

One Power Flower could potentially yield five bottles of Power Potion, which would be worth around twenty-five thousand Stellar Coins.

So, purchasing a Power Flower for twenty thousand Stellar Coins could actually be quite a good deal.

"Thirty thousand Stellar Coins!" John spoke calmly and leisurely.

Although he had no money, he was very confident.

If the owner forced him to buy it, he would expose it. There's no way someone would let him buy a fake flower for thirty thousand Stellar Coins.

The stall owner was very happy at this moment.

It was his first time at the Black Market, and he had always heard that money was easy to make here. He didn't expect it to be true.

Ethan's face turned pale, looking hesitant, feeling suppressed by the other side's momentum.

"Tsk tsk. Can't believe a rich man has to think so long to buy a flower." John shook his head, looking regretful and mocking.

The mocking words made Ethan very angry.

Ethan said, "I'll pay forty thousand Stellar Coins!"

John said, "Good! You have guts! I acknowledge your guts!"

John decisively turned around and left.

Ethan was stunned, wondering why the other party was so straightforward, feeling something was wrong.

But he had a reputation to uphold.

Although buying a Power Flower for forty thousand Stellar Coins was a bit of a loss, he could still afford it.

John said, "By the way, Ethan, if you need paint pens, you can always find me. I guarantee a discount!"

John suddenly turned back and said, confusing Ethan.

The stall owner, however, was a bit anxious, quickly completed the transaction, and then hurriedly left the Black Market.

David said, "John, I didn't expect to run into Ethan halfway. What bad luck."

David saw Ethan's targeting and naturally felt unhappy.

"Let him be. He'll have a hard time at home. Forty thousand Stellar Coins is no small amount." John was in a good mood, even whistling.

John added. "By the way, how did he know so quickly that I was the one who ambushed him? Don't let me find out who snitched."

John hummed a few times, clearly displeased with the snitch.

David said, "Of course, it was me!"

David suddenly slapped his thigh, looking proud as if seeking credit.

David added. "John, you're already a celebrity in our grade now, but you don't need to thank me!"

John said, "You?"

David nodded. "Yes, you told me last night, and I immediately shared the news in the grade's big group. I don't know how many people are discussing you now."

John took out his phone and indeed saw countless messages about him in the group.

Lone Wolf (David): [Ethan, the one who beat you up is my friend John. If you dare to retaliate, you can always come to me. I don't mind fighting you.]

Ethan: [John, it was you who ambushed me. I'll remember you.]

Nicholas: [John is so ruthless, truly our role model.]

Mr. Harper: [John, come to my office tomorrow.]

Alexander: [This is the Brute Group. Shouldn't we Beast Tamers be the ones to leave?]

Sebastian: [As a Beast Tamer, choosing to ambush with physical strength, such a person doesn't deserve to be called a Beast Tamer.]

"John, take a look. The group is so lively right now; everyone is discussing you," David said with a naive smile, completely oblivious to the unusual situation.

"David, we don't need to be so high-profile in the future. We need to keep a low profile," John said earnestly.

He had planned for every eventuality, yet he never foresaw that David would betray him.

"Got it." David suddenly realized he had messed up and nodded repeatedly.

John said, "Let's go, see if we can find another Power Flower."

The two continued to wander the Black Market. Unfortunately, there were no Power Flowers in any of the stalls.

This resource was extremely scarce, mostly bought by large corporations and the government.

After all, Power Potion was a common potion, and most contract spirits needed to increase their strength.

John said, "Let's check out the shops here."

In the end, John had no choice but to enter the shops in the Black Market.

There were only a few shops here, but the products were very comprehensive.

More importantly, as long as you had money, you could buy anything without any qualifications.

"A Power Flower costs twenty thousand Stellar Coins, so expensive!" John stepped into a shop and was instantly speechless.

The shops in the Black Market were really expensive. With other materials, the cost would be twenty-five thousand Stellar Coins.

Most alchemists could only make five bottles of potion, which meant no profit or loss.

Anyway, John wasn't going to make potions.

John asked, "By the way, are you hiring staff?"

John had a sudden light bulb moment.

Now that his junior year was about to end and summer vacation was coming, he wanted to find a part-time job.

Not only could he earn Stellar Coins, but he could also gain experience. The more people he interacted with, the higher the chance of triggering system options.

"Yes, there's a notice outside."

John quickly went outside and indeed saw a hiring notice.

[Hiring Shop Assistants (Interns).

[Job Content: Mainly responsible for sorting and categorizing various products.

[Working Hours: 9 AM to 9 PM.

[Salary: 400 Stellar Coins per month, double if you become a full-time employee.

[Note: Part-time accepted, but part-time salary is halved.]

John was speechless. The shops in the Black Market were really over the top.

"Are you interested? You look handsome. I can let you skip the interview and start anytime."
