Chapter 32 The Slime with Explosive Acting Skills

John once again saw the options before him.

[Option 1: Beg for mercy on the spot and ask Oliver to let you go. Reward: Title 'Cowardly Beggar', Effect: During a beating, there's a chance to soften the opponent's heart]

[Option 2: Refuse directly and run out of the bathroom. Reward: Moderate Beast-Taming power]

[Option 3: Nod in agreement and win the contract spirit battle. Reward: Golden Slime gains the talent 'Thick Armor']

John's expression froze for a moment. Then he nodded in agreement to Oliver's demand.

After making his earlier choice, he had already become a Level 5 Beast Tamer. Facing Oliver, who was Level 6, he might still have a chance to win.

"But I need a witness. I doubt your integrity." John spoke bluntly, "If you lose and all of you attack me together, I'll be at a disadvantage."

"You have the nerve to question someone else's integrity."

The group sneered. It was laughable that John was talking about integrity.

Oliver asked, "What if you take the opportunity to run away?"

Oliver had finally cornered John in the bathroom and wasn't going to let him go easily.

"I've always acted honorably and wouldn't do such a thing!" John said indignantly.

"I think you definitely would run away," Oliver said with a cold smile.

Alright, John admitted to himself that if it weren't for the system's choice, he would indeed take the opportunity to run.

But now that the system had given him a talent, he couldn't just ignore it.

The Slime's large size and brute force fighting style made a defensive talent extremely fitting.

John asked, "Then I'll call a witness. Is that okay?"

"Okay, " Oliver said.

John took out his phone and opened Facebook.

John said, "Hey, Ava, come to Beast Manor. I need your help with something."

David was just an ordinary person among the people he knew, and the strongest Level 5 Beast Tamer he knew was Fiona, who didn't have much deterrent power.

Whether he won or lost this match, this group would definitely take the opportunity to beat him up.

Ava was a Level 7 Beast Tamer, so taking him away would be easy.

John said, "Let's go, we'll wait at Beast Manor."

John walked out calmly.

In the auditorium, the principal was still giving an impassioned speech while the students below were dozing off.

Eight people sneaked out and headed towards Beast Manor.

Ava called out, "John!"

Ava was already waiting at Beast Manor.

John and David were her lifesavers, and she took their matters very seriously.

The wanted criminal back then had clearly intended to kill, but even now, SourceLife Pharmaceuticals hadn't found out who was behind it.

"Ava," John greeted with a smile.

"Are you Ava, the top student in the grade?"

Oliver and the others were shocked. As a top student who might get into Quantum Academy of Techno-Magic, Ava's name was known across all grades.

Seeing how familiar John and Ava were, the group hesitated.

Whether in terms of personal strength or family background, Ava was intimidating.

"Oliver, maybe we should let it go," Jack said in a low voice.

They all knew Oliver intended to injure John's contract spirit seriously.

But with Ava here, it seemed impossible. An A-level Firebird was not something they could handle.

Oliver remained silent, but his eyes were still filled with hatred. Finally, he shook his head firmly.

Ava's family background was strong, but the Ashford Family wasn't weak either. Besides, John came from an ordinary family and couldn't have much of a connection with Ava.

"Let's begin," Oliver stepped forward and summoned his contract spirit.

A large eagle with green feathers appeared, about half a meter long, looking fierce and letting out sharp cries.

"Green Feather Eagle?" Ava frowned.

She hadn't expected John to be up against a Level 6 Beast Tamer with a flying contract spirit.

John hadn't expected it either. Ethan's contract spirit was an undead skeleton, but Oliver's was a Green Feather Eagle.

Their contract spirits were completely different.

"Show me your strength!" Oliver said confidently.

A flying contract spirit had a natural advantage, especially against lower-level Beast Tamers.

John wasn't about to back down and summoned his contract spirit.

A huge Slime fell from the sky, trying to crush the Green Feather Eagle by surprise.

Oliver shouted, "Damn, a sneak attack!"

Oliver was startled and quickly commanded the Green Feather Eagle to dodge.

The Green Feather Eagle was fast, flapping its wings to avoid the Slime.

The golden Slime landed steadily but didn't move.

The Slime had its eyes closed, snoring lightly, still asleep.

Everyone fell silent.

No wonder it was John's contract spirit; they were both so unusual.

John silently commanded the golden Slime to wake up. It did, but it still looked sleepy and even yawned.

"Is this really a combat-type contract spirit?"

The onlookers couldn't help but wonder.

The golden Slime kept bouncing, but it was too heavy to jump high, only managing to taunt the Green Feather Eagle, looking very comical.

John sighed, not expecting the sneak attack to fail.

Oliver commanded the Green Feather Eagle to attack. The eagle's sharp claws slashed at the Slime.

The Slime's defense was instantly broken, oozing pure colorless mucus, which was its blood.

The Slime cried out in pain, its eyes wide with grievance.

The Green Feather Eagle, still fierce, attacked again.

Although it had no special skills, its physical strength alone was enough to crush the Slime.

This was the advantage of a higher potential rating.

Generally, higher-rated contract spirits had stronger combat abilities.

John frowned. The golden Slime was at a significant disadvantage against a flying contract spirit. To win, he had to take a risk.

He gave the Slime a new command.

The next moment, the Slime started moving clumsily.

But the Green Feather Eagle was too fast, completely outpacing the Slime. Its sharp claws kept slashing.

The Slime's blood was all over the place, and its already slow body was nearly immobile, now heavily injured.

John's face darkened, his fists clenched. Finally, he spoke up, "Stop fighting, stop! I surrender!"

A relieved smile spread across Oliver's face. He muttered to himself, "Idiot," and ordered the Green Feather Eagle to launch the final strike.

The Green Feather Eagle let out a sharp cry, flapping its wings, its claws gleaming coldly.

"John, quickly recall your contract spirit. Surrendering won't help," Ava exclaimed.

A contract spirit had to be recalled or leave the battlefield to be considered defeated.

"Too late!" Oliver smiled. The Green Feather Eagle was already close to the Slime, launching a full-force attack.

But in the next instant, John's lips curled into a sly smile.

The Slime suddenly leaped high, 16 feet into the air, like an incredibly agile fat man, engulfing the Green Feather Eagle.

It didn't look injured at all.

This performance was flawless, absolutely perfect.
