Chapter 104 A Few Seconds That Take a Lifetime to Heal

The competition was still going strong, with only John and two others really standing out.

Everyone else's matches were a total snooze fest.

There was nothing worth watching, and John hit the bathroom eight times in two hours.

Finally, the first round wrapped up, and the top twelve matches kicked off.

"Next match, Uriah versus Karl!"

Everyone turned to see their reactions. Karl was probably next in line for a beatdown.

Brady clenched his fists and whispered, "Mr. Ward."

"Don't sweat it!" Karl stepped out, ready to crush Uriah's contract spirit.

"Come on, let's get this over with! You scared?" Karl summoned his contract spirit, a weird bird covered in white feathers, known as the Wind Beast with an A potential rating.

It was super fast and had this cool skill called Wind Bind, making it as powerful as Ava's Flame Bird.

"If you wanna fight, let's do this!" Uriah walked forward, totally unfazed. "I would like to remind you that once you accept the green light, there's no backing out!"

Karl's mouth twitched, deciding not to let Uriah get his skill off.

"Let's get started!" Zane looked at Uriah with approval, surprised he wasn't scared.

The Wind Beast was a flying contract spirit, second only to Joshua's mutated Thunder Bird in speed in the whole special training class.

Once they started, the Caterbutterfly would probably get shredded before it could even use its skill.

"Prepare to die!" Uriah, full of fighting spirit, instantly summoned his Caterbutterfly.

But the Caterbutterfly didn't show up on the battle stage; it was right next to Uriah.

"What's the deal with this?!" Karl looked over, annoyed, ready to strike first, but Uriah didn't play by the rules.

"Too chicken to get on the battle stage and fight me?"

"Who said that?" Uriah grinned. "I'm coming up!"

The Caterbutterfly slowly flew to the battle stage, its eyes glowing green.

The Wind Beast flapped its wings, with a cyan light attached, and its flying speed shot up.

Going for the kill right away, Karl used a skill from the get-go.

The Wind Beast's claws opened, aiming to tear the Caterbutterfly apart.

But the next moment, the Caterbutterfly slowly backed off the battle stage.

"I'm down again!" Uriah chuckled. Stepping down voluntarily meant giving up.

But right then, the Caterbutterfly's skill was fully charged, and a green light shot towards Karl.

Karl's eyes filled with terror, and he started to run!

But it was no use; the green light was unavoidable.

The green light instantly covered Karl's head, forming a bizarre one-meter-high big hat.

Everyone was shocked, not expecting Uriah to be so good at using his abilities.

Behind that impressive skill lay countless victims.

No one knew how many people Uriah had hit with the green light.

"You've already lost, and you still use this skill!" Karl's chest heaved with anger, nearly driving him mad.

"Alright, Uriah, that's enough. You've lost," Zane announced.

Uriah slowly canceled the skill. Even though it lasted only a moment, it was enough to gross Karl out.

Many people sighed, "Karl won the match but lost his dignity."

Karl clenched his fists, his face pale. He felt like the green light was still hanging over his head.

In those few seconds, he might need a lifetime to recover.

Everyone else breathed a sigh of relief, feeling grateful to Karl. Uriah's loss meant no one else would suffer.

"Alright! Now for the next match, John versus Sadie Parker!"

With these words, the attention of the classmates shifted.

John's Slime, although F-level, always gave off this mysterious vibe, so people were more interested in this battle.

Sadie was a cute girl, looking all adorable and delicate.

She stepped forward and summoned her contract spirit, a fox with a purple tail.

It was a B-rated Purple-Eyed Fox, way more attractive than the Slime.

Sadie approached John and whispered, "John, can you let me win on purpose?"

"I will, I won't go all out," John grinned. He thought, 'You're so young and you dare to ask this. I won't hold back.'

The golden Slime descended onto the battle stage, a heavyweight contender.

The Slime opened its big eyes, curious about the Purple-Eyed Fox.

The Purple-Eyed Fox's eyes glowed, and a charming purple light shot out.

The Slime was too slow to dodge.

The purple light entered its body, and the Slime started to giggle foolishly, drooling.

"There's a seduction skill among contract spirits," many people were amazed, not expecting this skill.

Sadie smiled slightly. Although her contract spirit was B-level, it had great potential, being a unique control-type contract spirit.

If it evolved to a higher level, it could even temporarily control the beast lords of the Alternate Dimension.

Thanks to the special contract spirit, she had successfully entered the special training class.

Sadie said, "John, you lost!"

The Slime, seemingly enchanted, foolishly walked off the stage. It continued to drool, looking very cute.

But just as it was about to leave the stage, its eyes suddenly became determined.

It used a dash skill!

The Purple-Eyed Fox didn't react in time and was instantly knocked away.

Everything happened too suddenly. Everyone thought the Slime was enchanted, so it looked foolish.

But little did they know, it was naturally like this.

With the Slime's intelligence, it didn't understand seduction!

When the Purple-Eyed Fox was flying in the air, the Slime jumped and activated the 'Violent Sit Kill'!

"No!" Sadie opened her eyes wide. The Slime was so heavy that if it landed, it would cause serious injuries.

John didn't hesitate, and the Slime instantly fell down.

With a weight of 440 pounds, it was unstoppable!
