CHAPTER 107

HENRY’S POV

How dare that little bitch treat me like I’m no one and she’s actually someone now. She’s nothing. She’s worthless. Just like that no- good mother of hers.
I’ll tell ya, when Jack killed her mother I was so relieved. I thought he was going to kill her as well, but he chose to keep her alive. I’m still trying to figure that one out.
Why the hell would he keep her around? Maybe he saw the potential in keeping her around.
I know that he was renting her out to his friends. He definitely wasn’t letting them have her for free.
Those guys have too much power. I know that they will be able to find out that I started the human trafficking business that Jack took over.
I don’t even know if Skylar knows about that. She knows that Jack’s a killer. He did that in front of her to make sure she kept her mouth shut. And she did, until she met these bastards.
How the hell are we going to get her away from them? I know that I won’t be able to kill them all myself and Jack’s tried to take them out with an army of men and they still failed. Jack ended up at the bottom of a lake. And that’s because of what they are teaching her.
They’re teaching her to fight and fight hard. And she knows too much.
She might not know that she knows too much, but she does. And she needs to be dealt with.
Olivia could tell that I was pissed right now and she didn’t dare even look at me let alone touch me. She knew that she would get thrown from this fucking car if she so much as looked at me wrong.
I was clutching the steering wheel so tightly that my knuckles were going white and it was driving me crazy. I felt like I was going crazy.
How dare that nobody bitch think that she has a right to stand over me like that? Just because she’s got those boys with her.
She wouldn’t be that tough if she didn’t have those bastards there to help her. That was an absolute certainty.
But now that we’ve shown up, she knows that we’re in town and she’s not going to trust us to do anything. She’s not going to trust us if we go back to see her and try to play nice.
I really thought we had a chance to get in with her to find out what she knows. To find out what those boys are up to.
If I knew exactly what they were doing, then there is no way they would be able to hold it over me.
They would be the ones that were going to get screwed. Believe me. And I would make sure that it hurt.
I need to get this straight with everyone. I need to make sure that she knows she’s not safe. Not even with them.
I pulled up outside an old abandoned warehouse and I took a couple of deep breaths before I took my seatbelt off.
“Stay in the car.” I ordered Olivia. She simply nodded her head while keeping her head down and not looking at me.
I got out and walked into the building to see guards standing around everywhere.
“Sir. The new shipment arrived this morning.” One of them said to me.
So I walked to the back of the warehouse where we had about 30 dog cages set up in rows.
I walked along the rows carefully, looking at all the inventory.
“They look good. Any of them give you trouble?” I asked.
“Yeah. That bitch on the end by herself. We had to put her over there because she was going crazy.” He said.
So I walked to the cage that had been moved away from the others and I kneeled down to look at what was in it.
“You’re never going to get away with this you old fuck.” The girl spat at me.
“Sweetheart. You’re a junkie and there’s no one looking for you. Believe me, I’ve already gotten away with it.” I said.
I stood up and looked at the other girls. I could hear them sobbing but none of them were saying anything.
“The auction is set for tomorrow night. Make sure they’re done up properly.” I ordered.
“We will. Same as last time.” The guard said.
So I left the warehouse and I got back in the car just as I saw Olivia riffling around in her handbag.
“What are you doing?” I snapped at her and she dropped the bag on the floor of the car.
“I was just making sure that I had my purse.” She said.
“Why? You don’t have any fucking money.” I snapped at her.
I started the car and peeled away from the warehouse, driving through that section of town until I was on the highway again.
Olivia was sitting in her chair, looking down at her lap like she’d been trained to.
It took a long time, but after I took her from her family. She turned into my little pet project. I wanted her and no one else was going to have her.
And she’s actually turned into a good little servant. Does whatever the fuck I want, whenever I want it.
We drove for another hour before we pulled up outside a massive house with guards posted all around it.
We both got out of the car and when we walked inside I saw that there weren’t too many people around.
Most of the guards were outside, which had me concerned. Were they waiting for something to happen?
“Sit in here and don’t move.” I ordered Olivia. So she sat on the couch with her bag on her lap.
There were guards in the room and I knew that they would watch her.
So I walked room to room before I saw someone walking around out the back, near the pool.
I walked out the back and headed towards the gazebo just as Jack turned around.
“Well?” He asked.
“She overheard us when she was 11. She knows that we wanted you to sell her to Kitty’s brother. She doesn’t trust us.” I said.
“Fuck!” Jack yelled.
“There has to be someone that she knows from when she was a kid that she doesn’t consider to be a threat.” I said.
“Well, I’m going through everyone I know. But they were either there when I killed someone in front of her and they helped clean up the mess. I went to great lengths to scare the hell out of that bitch so she wouldn’t talk. I never thought these bastards would come into her life and take her away.” Jack said.
“Well, you need to do something. And you need to do it now. Because she’s getting more aggressive. She’s the one that kicked us out. Not them.” I said.
“She did? So she’s starting to stand up for herself?”
“Well, she does think that she killed you.” Henry said.
“We’ll just have to knock her down a couple of pegs and let her know that she’s not the one in charge.” Jack said, sitting at the table with a smirk on his face.
But even I knew that was a horrible idea. He is acting on impulse right now and that is going to get him caught. He needs to be smart. But getting him to listen to us has never been an easy task.
