CHAPTER 26
HARRY’S POV
Lucas and I went downtown and started searching everywhere for Madison and her little posse and it wasn’t too hard to find her. She was in a clothing store trying on different outfits and we stood outside watching them for a while.
“What are we going to do? We’re not actually going to beat up on a bunch of girls, are we?” Lucas asked.
“Nope.” I said, pulling my cell phone out of my pocket and I started dialing a number.
“Hello.” Stella answered.
“Stella. It’s Harry. Where are you right now?” I asked.
“Just on my way home. What’s up?” She asked.
“There’s something I need you to take care of for me.” I said, getting straight to the point.
“Who?” She asked.
“I’ll send you photos. They’re at a boutique in Main Street.” I said.
“I’m on my way.” She said. So I hung up the phone and I took photos of Madison and her friends and I sent them to Stella.
“Yeah. I don’t think that bitch is gonna go near Skylar after this.” Lucas said, trying not to laugh.
Stella wasn’t a chick that you messed with and if you did, you needed to make sure that you could back yourself up.
She was tough and we trusted her completely. We’d been friends for years and we trained together. That’s how we know what she’s capable of taking out Madison and all of her friends, and she’s a girl. So that makes it more of a fair fight. Especially since Stella is only one girl.
We left before Stella got there and we got to an office building and headed straight to the top of the building where the largest office was located and we ignored the receptionist as we barged into the office and saw Madison’s father sitting behind the desk.
“I’m sorry, sir. They just pushed straight past.” The receptionist said.
“It’s alright. Close the door.” He said. So she closed the door and he stood behind his desk staring at us.
“You know who we are?” I asked.
“Yeah. I know.” He said.
“Good. Then you’re going to call that little bitch of a daughter off. Otherwise things are going to go really bad for you.” I threatened.
“What’s Madison done?” He asked.
“She’ll know what you’re talking about. Tell her to back off, or I’ll be back.” I said, walking out of his office.
When we got back downstairs and into the car Lucas wasn’t saying anything, but I could tell that he was just as satisfied as I was that now maybe Skylar might get a little peace in her life. She deserves it after all this time.
I couldn’t help but think back to when Lucas’ dad saved me from those killers a few years back. Right after they killed Lizzy right in front of me. I would have followed him to the end of the earth and back. And then we met Jax and the three of us have been inseparable since.
On the outside, we just looked like three guys that lived indistinguishable lives, apart from changing schools all the time, but really, we’ve been groomed and trained by Lucas’ father for years. And we’ve become very loyal to Lucas’ dad and we will do anything he asks. He doesn’t ask a lot. But when he needs us, we’re always there. It’s the least we can do.
It’s not so much the loyalty to his father but more our loyalty to Lucas that keeps us together. Lucas’ father wants him to take over their family business when he’s old enough, but Lucas doesn’t want that at all. He’s completely opposed to it. He wants to live a normal life. Not get wrapped up in the crap that all of our parents were wrapped up in which got my parents killed.
We were secretly trying to plan out to break away from his father and start a new life, and now, I think we might have a new companion in that new life that we are dreaming of.
I know they all think that I am going to be the one to be opposed to this idea, but I actually wouldn’t mind if Skylar joined us to start a new life.
The more I get to know her, the more I get to really like her. More than I’ve liked any girl since Lizzy. I didn’t think it was possible. And Lucas and Jax obviously don’t know how I feel, not the full extent of it. And I don’t want them to. Not yet anyway. They’re going to make too much of a big deal out of it.
Besides, I know that Lucas is starting to feel the same way about her. And Jax is her oldest friend. So it’s hard to tell how he feels because she’s just automatically drawn to him because he’s what’s more familiar to her.
But first things first. We had to deal with Madison and then we had to deal with her father. That one was going to be the biggest obstacle of all.
We had to find out what her father is involved in so we can use it against him.
All the while, we had to make sure that he stayed right the hell away from Skylar.
I don’t think she can mentally cope with seeing him ever again. Well, at least not for now. She needed to heal a bit before she could start to even think about facing him.
She was definitely a lot stronger than what people give her credit for. And that is one thing that people aren’t born with. They learn it over time. How to be that strong and cope with what they have to cope with.
She did it just to survive. But now we are going to put it to good use. And I knew that we needed to start training her like we were trained. I needed to know that she could also take care of herself.
