CHAPTER 84
When we got up the next day Jax started making breakfast while the rest of us were getting ready for school and when I went to the kitchen Jax pulled me onto his lap while I was eating breakfast and he was trying to eat around me.
The other two came in not long after that and started eating as well.
The conversation was left pretty light and easy. We were laughing and talking about crap.
But we cleaned the kitchen while Jax went to go and get ready for school and then we all left together in Harry’s car.
As soon as we got to school I saw Grace standing out the front with her followers and she glared at me when she saw me getting out of the car with the guys.
We walked towards the school but she stood right in front of me, not even acknowledging the guys.
“So, how many of them are you sleeping with now?” She asked.
“Excuse me?” I asked.
“You’re obviously getting pretty cozy with all three of them.” She said.
“If I didn’t know any better Grace, I’d think you were jealous.” I said. And she started laughing.
“Jealous. You think I’m jealous of you? What a joke.” She said. Lucas was about to stand in between us when I put my hand up to stop him.
“Then why are you talking to me? Why do you care what I do if you’re not jealous?” I asked.
“I have other interests instead of you.” She said.
“Yeah. It’s called the football team. I hear things too.” I said. And the guys laughed, but then turned their heads trying to pretend like they weren’t.
“You little bitch.” She snapped and she raised her hand to slap me across the face.
But I grabbed her wrist at the last second and I grabbed it as tightly as I could, feeling my nails sticking into her skin.
She tried to pull her arm away but I wasn’t letting her.
Her and her friends all looked at me strangely, but so did everyone else that was standing outside of the school watching this interaction.
“Don’t even fucking touch me again. Or I’ll let you see exactly what these guys are teaching me. And it’s got nothing to do with sex.” I said through gritted teeth.
So I threw her arm away from me and I pushed past her as I walked up the stairs to the school and inside the building.
The guys followed along behind me pretty quickly but once we got inside Harry wrapped his arms around me from behind.
“It’s good to see those training sessions are coming in handy.” He said.
“She’s lucky I stopped there.” I said.
“Well, she wouldn’t have expected it if you did belt her one.” Lucas said, laughing.
The rest of the day was pretty uneventful except for everyone talking about me standing up to Grace this morning. But I just ignored the stares and the whispering behind my back. I was used to all of that crap.
And when we left school that day we all went to a diner and we got something to eat before we headed home.
As soon as we got there I got changed and headed down to the training room with Harry and we got straight into it again.
They knew that I was serious about my training schedule but this morning I was too exhausted from last night so I skipped it.
Honestly, the guys looked relieved that I took the morning off. They’re always afraid that I’m overdoing it. That I want to be as good as them as fast as I can when even I know that it takes time.
But it’s never going to happen if I don’t show devotion to it.
As soon as we finished training we walked back up to the house and as soon as we walked in the backdoor we could hear some people talking in the living room.
We walked through the kitchen and dining room until we got to the living room and there was a strange man standing there with a couple of guys in black suits wearing sunglasses.
“What’s with the secret service?” I asked.
“Skylar. This is Joseph Micheals. Grace’s father.” Jax said.
“Oh.” I said, sitting on the couch next to Lucas.
“I hear you put your hands on my daughter today at school.” Joseph said.
“It’s nothing less than she’s ever done to me.” I said, looking straight at him.
“My daughter is not a bully. She wouldn’t do anything to anyone unless it was in self defense.” He insisted. So I turned to look at the guys and they all had smiles on their faces.
“You obviously don’t know your daughter very well. The first day we saw Skylar at school your daughter was laying in to her. Don’t blame Skylar because she’s finally decided to start fighting back.” Harry said. And then he looked at Harry and myself. The clothes we were wearing and the water bottles along with us sweating.
“And I’m guessing that she’s learning everything from you.” Joseph said.
“Why are you here Joseph? We know that it’s not because of what Skylar did to Grace.” Lucas said.
“I’ve been asking to have a meeting with you three for weeks now and you keep blowing me off. It’s to do with your father.” Joseph said.
“I don’t have anything to do with my father’s business. We just clean up the mess that he makes.” Lucas said.
But Joseph let out a large sigh and sat on a chair that was across from us.
“I need your father to back off. To stay the hell away from my business. He’s trying to take it away from me and it’s never going to happen. He’s tried every tactic in the book and next he’s going to send you three. His mercenaries.” Joseph said.
“This is really something you need to take up with my father.” Lucas said.
“He won’t listen to me. I’m asking you.” Joseph said.
“I might consider talking to my father. As long as your daughter learns her place and stays the fuck away from all four of us.” Lucas said.
“Alright. If Grace stays away from you, you’ll talk to him?” Joseph asked.
“No. I said that I’d consider it.” Lucas said.
“Fine. Grace will back off. If you do this for me, there will be a good financial contribution to your living allowance.” Joseph said, standing up.
I looked at the guys and they didn’t seem to change expressions when he said that. So he left the room with his guards and I felt the guys relax.
“Aren’t we meant to be going to your father’s place for some sort of party?” I asked.
“It’s a Ball. And he’s told us to bring you.” Lucas said.
“I’m guessing it wasn’t a request.” I said.
“It never is with him.” Lucas said. So I nodded my head.
I went upstairs to my room to have a shower and after I got dressed I sat at the computer and I hacked into the city council’s mainframe.
One thing the guys didn’t know about me, I was pretty good at hacking into stuff.
But I managed to get a hold of the blueprints to William’s house so I printed it out and I got out of the council’s site.
I sat there studying the blueprints and trying to figure out where all the different rooms in his house were. Trying to figure out the quickest ways to get to some rooms.
The only problem was, security. I didn’t know what sort of security he had in the house. But I was guessing that it was pretty extensive.
So I grabbed my phone and sent a text message.
Only a couple of seconds later my door opened and I turned around to see Lucas there.
“I need to know how to hack into your father’s security system.” I said. And he looked at me really confused and curious at the same time.
