CHAPTER 81
JACK POV
I have been following Skylar around as much as I can without her or those boys getting suspicious about a car following them. But so far it doesn’t seem like they suspect that I’m still alive.
The doctor told her that I was dead and she never even asked to see my body.
That’s what sort of an ungrateful bitch I’ve been raising.
But now I am at my house out in the country that no one knows about. Only my closest friends and family. I’ve made sure that no one else finds out about it so it’s not in my name and this is where I like to hide and this is where I have my meetings on updates and everything that I’m missing in the world.
I was sitting outside by the pool when I was soon joined by my brother Kayden, Adam who is my private investigator, Carlos who has been overseeing my businesses while I’m in hiding, Kitty and an old friend William.
“Wow. This is some house.” Carlos said, as they all sat down around the same table.
“Yeah. Only the best.” I said.
I waited until they were all seated and I started with the mundane stuff that I needed to hear about which was my business. So I let Carlos go first and tell me about everything at the office and there was nothing going on around there that he couldn’t handle. And then we got onto the more important business.
“So, what did you find out?” I asked, looking at Kitty.
“I ran into her like you wanted me to. I started a fight, causing a scene and the guy that she was with was overly protective of her.” Kitty explained and I nodded my head.
“Yeah. I had a feeling.”
“How the hell did she manage to find a guy like that? I mean, she’s such a loser. But that’s not the strangest thing about seeing her. Once she composed herself, the bitch started mouthing off to me herself.” Kitty said.
“What?” I asked, shocked.
“She wasn’t scared of me. She started mouthing off to me and she didn’t seem scared. I don’t know if it’s because her boyfriend and his friends were there or what it was. But she’s not the same girl that she was when I knew her.” Kitty explained.
Those guys are really getting to her. If she keeps defending herself like this then she’s going to be really hard to get a hold of.
They are giving her the strength that she never knew she had. And that’s not good. If she’s anything like her mother, then she was definitely going to be a handful.
I thought I had beaten it out of her enough so she wouldn’t ever dare speak out of turn. But after a couple of months with those guys and she’s already becoming a problem.
I couldn’t let this happen.
“What about you Adam?” I asked.
“Well, I’ve pretty much found the same thing. Here is everything that I have compiled so far. Photos of her and she’s never alone. There’s always someone with her.” Adam said, handing me an envelope and I looked inside to see those same guys that were with Skylar.
She was either with one of them or all three of them. And they all looked a little too protective of her.
“I want you to find out everything about those guys. And let me know what you find.” I said, putting the photos away.
“Absolutely.” Adam said.
“My brother Graham has asked that he gets first dibs when she comes back home.” Kitty said. And I nodded to her.
I didn’t care who had her first when she got back. Just so long as they are able to break her into submission again.
I got everyone else to leave while William and I stayed outside talking.
“How are you holding up?” William asked.
“I am going crazy being locked up in this house.” I said.
“Well, it’s a massive property. Get a horse.”
“Funny. That’s never going to happen. I hate those bastards. Is your son still working for you?” I asked.
“Yeah. What do you need?”
“Well, there’s someone trying to move in on a couple of my businesses. Ones that Carlos doesn’t know about.” I said.
“Alright. Just give me the details and I will make sure these people are taken care of.”
“Alright. Give me time and I’ll get the information to you. How is Lucas? I haven’t seen him in years.”
“Well, he’s a teenager. Being controlled by hormones, so trying to control his hormones is tough but once I found his weakness, he was a lot easier to control.” William explained. And I started laughing.
“Kids. Who the hell needs them? They’re nothing but trouble.” I said.
“Yeah. I’ve noticed that. When do you want these people out of the way?”
“Well, it can’t be done at the same time otherwise they will follow it back to me. I don’t need people snooping around and finding out that I’m still alive. Not while that bitch seems to be getting comfortable. Do it gradually.” I said. And he nodded.
“Smart. I’ll get it done.” William said.
“Did I ever thank you?” I asked.
“For what?”
“For fishing me out of that lake before I drowned.”
“You don’t need to thank me for that. We both have the same interests at stake. Let’s just say it was a smart business choice instead of weakness.” William said.
“Done.” I said.
We finally went inside and we started walking around the house while I was showing everyone around but I got sick of them pretty quickly so I kicked them out.
Kitty is the only one that didn’t leave and she waited until everyone else was gone before she closed the door and she turned around and looked at me.
“I thought I said I wanted peace and quiet.” I said.
“I know that you’d be wanting something even more than that. You’ve been locked up alone for so long. With no company at all.” She said.
“And what do you suggest?”
“You know exactly what I’m suggesting.” She said, walking towards me. Slowly, seductively.
She stopped right in front of me and started running her hand up my chest and then down my arm.
I grabbed her hand and I led her upstairs to the bedroom.
