Chapter 18: The Rescue

The door burst open and Marcus' men stood in determination. They haven't come there to play. They had put on loud music, but were still standing at the entrance.

Davis Pov

I didn't know if I should laugh or not. But the way they had come in was so giving. I raised my thumbs at them.

Vincent's grip on my throat loosened, I took advantage of the distraction, stood up, and was ready to face Vincent alongside Marcus' men.

While Olivia struggled to free herself from the rope she was tied to.

Marcus men charged up. They bounced in angrily. They charged towards Vincent and his men, I joined in the fight, determined to take them down. I looked at Vincent who was trying to escape one of Marcus' men but I blocked his way. “You're going nowhere, aren't you the strongest, you can prove that to me now.”

The music was still blasting but this time it was mixed with the sound of punches and glasses being thrown. Vincent was about to bring a gun out but I quickly grabbed it from him. “You aren't gonna use this.”

I fought the few I can, hitting them with glasses and exchanging punches. I scanned the room for any sign of Olivia but she was not there. I hoped she had escaped but I sighted Vincent men taking her away. I was starting to get worried.

A sound had distracted me. Turning again to see if I'll see any trace of Olivia, she was nowhere.

Marcus men had finished with Vincent men, they all laid helpless on the ground. Vincent tried to escape but they held him back.

“Where did your men take Olivia?” I shouted, waiting for an answer.

“I don't know.” He said. I sprinted towards him, my fists clenched. “You have to tell me where your men took her.” I growed tackling him on the floor.

We wrestled, throwing punches at each other, until Marcus' men told us to stop. “Where is she?” I asked, my eyes blazing with anger.

“Is that it, you'll never find her.” He sneered.

His smile grew wider. “Your precious Olivia is gone, and I don't think my men will spare her life.”

I charged towards Vincent but Marcus' men held me back. The leader of the men had assigned some people to go check for Olivia. I decided to follow the men he had assigned.

We searched everywhere in the building but there was no sign of them. I was starting to lose hope if what Vincent had said was true. “Your precious Olivia is gone.” Is he serious, did he tell them to kill her? The thought filled my mind.

When we got outside we saw a black van speeding away. “They have Olivia. Get into the car.” I said to the men as we went after them.

The chase was on, with bullets thrown to our direction. The leader of Vincent men had informed him that they had taken Olivia away.

While we continued the chase, my heart raced with each bullet that passed us. My mind was just fixed that we must save Olivia.

We followed them closely. My eyes were fixed on the van. The chase intensified with every sound, we weaved through traffic. My heart filled with fear for her safety.

The van took a sharp turn, then they stopped, Vincent men jumped out of the car with Olivia struggling in their grasp.

“You are not going with her, let go of her now.” I said, leaping out of the car. They sneered at me. I could see the fear in their eyes. They knew they were outgunned and outnumbered.

“Help me.” Olivia said, her voice trembling.

My guns were still trained on Vincent men. “Let her go.” I warned them. But they refused so I shut one of them on his leg.

Olivia's Pov

I saw a figure moving in our direction. When the figure got closer. To my surprise it was Marcus. All attention was drawn to him. “Good Job.” He said to his men before looking at Davis.

Marcus laughed. “I think that gun should be pointed in that direction.” He said, pointing at Vincent's men.

“What are you still waiting for, let go of her.” He said to Vincent men. They were about running into their car but we're shut by Davis.

“I will let you guys leave but at least with one leg.” Davis said, running towards me. “Are you okay?” he asked.

I processed everything that had happened. “I can't say I'm fine.” my eyes were fixed on Davis.

“We need to leave,” Marcus said, his voice firm.

“You're not supposed to be here Marcus, you should receive your treatment well before anything.” I said,

“I'm fine Olivia, let's just get out of this scene. One of my men has captured Vincent, I'll deal with him myself.” He said.

“That's good, but you're not supposed to be here.” Davis said.

“You guys sorry too much, I'm very strong now.” He said, as he got into his car.

Davis looked at me with a sign of relief. “We made it out alive.” He said, laughing.

I felt a wave of relief. I got into the car with Davis. “Yes, we did.” I said, my voice shaking.

Davis has risked his life to save me just as Marcus did. His eyes crinkled at the corner as he smiled.

We drove away from the alley, heading home. Vincent's men were taken by the police.

I thought we were heading home but Davis reversed to another direction. “Where are we going?”

“Somewhere special, to cool our heads down, so we can forget about Vincent's trouble” he smiled.

I nodded. “Not a bad idea.” We drove further into the city.

He stopped the car and he led me to a beautiful yacht. The sun cast a golden glow over the city skyline.

“Yeah, this is it.” He said, offering me his hand as u stepped onto the yacht. Sense of luxury envelops me. He handed me a glass of champagne. We smiled at each other, we stood at the railing as we watched the world go by.
