Chapter 84: Heart to Heart
Marcus Pov
I was deeply in love with Olivia and I can't just let her get married to Davis while I was still alive. The thought of Olivia walking down the aisle with Dais pissed me off. “I have to do something, this is unbearable.” I muttered. I knew after what I did to her she definitely would not want to have anything to do with me. How could I win her back after trying to kill her? “What was I thinking?” I had done that because of jealousy. Now she's engaged to Davis and I'm not sure she likes me a bit.
I paced back and forth in my room. The wedding was already close and I had to destroy that plan. “There's no way that wedding will take place.”
I knew I had to do something fast, I won't let her know about what i will do. I've hurt her already, I don't want her to find out I'm plotting something else. “There's no way I'm going to give up, I can't watch her be with that guy forever, even if it seems impossible, i have to try something.”
“I have to make her see why she should be with me and not Davis.” I muttered.
I looked around my room. This time I stopped pacing back and forth. “What can I do to stop the wedding?” I said, as if I was expecting an answer. Thinking about the time we've spent together, the tears and laughter and how she smiled. “I have to do something so she can feel that way around me again.”
“I have to plot something about Davis, something that will make her know that he doesn't love her, I have to be the one with you Olivia, you belong to me alone.” I muttered.
My problem now is what to do. I was determined even if I had no plans yet. “She has to be mine.”
I knew what I was going to do. I smiled as I walked to my desk, brought it a small note and pen. I began to write down my plans, my hand moved swiftly. I was very happy as I was writing that. My heart raced with excitement though what I was planning was risky.
I dropped the pen down, I read what I had written and a small smile spread across my face. “This is the perfect plan.”
My doorbell rang. I wondered who that was. I quickly kept the note in the drawer before checking who was at the door. It was Andrew, my friend.
“Hey man, what's up with you, you've not been answering my calls.” He said.
I just smiled.
“And what's with that determination on your face?” Andrew asked, curious to know what I was up to.
“Well, you know about the lady I told you have always loved, I told you she's getting married right?” Andrew nodded.
“Good, I will stop the wedding.” I spat.
“Man, don't you think you're taking this thing too far, the lady made her choice, you should let her be.” Andrew said,
“I'm sure she's confused about what she wants,” I rolled my eyes, my jaw clenched.
“You're obviously trying to force her to love you, I thought you have a girlfriend, this lady in question has been with you for three years. Come on Marcus, I'm not in support of this, you should concentrate on the relationship you built.” Andrew said,
“I'm breaking up with her.” I said.
He looked at me in disbelief “What? Are you okay?”
“You really can't force her on you, if she doesn't love you, no matter how hard you try it won't work out.” Andrew said.
“This lady you're telling me to give up on is who I love and I can't watch her get married to anyone else, I'm ready to do whatever it takes to be with her.” I said, glaring at him.
“Just be careful.” Andrew said, looking at me with concern on his face.
“You should know me better now, I'm not afraid of getting burned. Just watch and see how I'm going to make Olivia mine.” I said.
“So what about Jasmine?” Andrew asked.
“I told you I'm going to break up with her.” I said,
“I pity you.” Andrew said.
I laughed. “Pity? Man, I know what I want.”
“I really don't know why you are doing this, but I know you will regret this. You can't treat Jasmine this way, she deserves better, she's been with you for years, The fact still remains that Olivia doesn't love you and you can't do anything about that,
It's clear she doesn't want you. You have to give up here.” Andrew said.
“Nah, there is no way I will do that.” I said.
Andrew left angrily without saying a word.
I brought out the note from the drawer and continued my plans. “Olivia has no idea of what is coming.” I muttered.
After a while Jasmine walked in. She knows the pin to get into my apartment so she uses that opportunity to just barge in anytime she wants.
I quickly hid the note in the drawer. But Jasmine's eyes were fixed on that drawer. “Hey, what are you hiding?” She asked.
Jasmine was wondering what I was hiding, her eyes were fixed on the drawer. “Why are you acting strange? Are you hiding something from me?”
“You don't have to worry, it's a case I'm working on.” I said , trying to convince her but she wasn't having it, she moved towards the drawer. “What?” She said, as she read what I had written on the note.
“Are you trying to sabotage Olivia's wedding, the big wedding that everyone is talking about? What is your reason? What is wrong with you?” Jasmine asked, angrily.
I only wanted to break up with Jasmine, I didn't want her to know about the plan. “You have to calm down, just listen to me.”
“I can't believe this, you want to ruin your life huh? She doesn't love you, why are you bothered about her getting married to who she loves?” Jasmine spat.
I looked for the right words to tell her that it was over between us. “I'm sorry, we can't just work out.”
“Really? You're breaking up with me? You want to ruin everything we had together just because you want to be with Olivia.” Jasmine's eyes were filled with anger, she walked closer to me.
“You have no idea how I feel, but I have no choice.” I said.
I knew how heartless I was and I wasn't denying that.
“Why are you so obsessed with this lady, why can't you give up on her.” she said,
Jasmine was really feeling bad. “I have ro do what I want, I never loved you.” I said.
“O my goodness, did you just say this to me? Well, you can do whatever you want but I won't be available when things fall apart so don't you dare come back running to me.” her face was twisted with sadness.
She didn't say a word after that, she stood up from the couch, took her bag and stormed out of my apartment. I didn't care how she felt, all I wanted to do at that moment was to continue with my plan.
