Chapter 94: After the incident

Davis Pov

“I won't let this slide,” I said, as I tried to reassure her. “I will make sure he faces the consequences of his actions.” I said.

Emily nodded, she was relieved. She was still shaken by what had happened. But with her cousins around I knew she would be fine.

Joanna and Rachel were sitting next to her, offering every support they could to her.

Micheal finally spoke up. “I think you should tell them how I punched him. That guy was just too aggressive towards her. If I wasn't there on time I don't know what would have happened.”

I turned, looking at Michael, I knew he was right, “Thanks for doing that.”

“It's fine, I did what I was supposed to do.” Micheal shrugged.

I knew Micheal was right, not everyone would have the courage to do that.

Emily was still shaken by the whole event. It was looking like it would take time for her to recover from what had happened.

I watched as the girls walked to their room.

Emily's Pov

I sighed heavily as I sat on my bed. “What a day.”

Joanna smiled. “Come to think of it, I wished I had seen that guy. I would have dealt with him myself.”

I smiled. “You didn't see me when I walked to the washroom, I thought I saw you watching me.”

“My mind wasn't there, no doubt I was looking at you but my concentration was on something else.” Joanna said,

Just then my phone rang, it was Mason calling. “Guess who is calling?”

Joanna looked at me wondering who it was. “Who is it?” She asked, curiously.

“Mason, what does he want now?” I said, angrily.

“Hope you're not picking that.” Joanna said.

“I'm definitely not picking up.” I muttered.

I got up from my bed unsure of what to do next. I paced back and forth. Mason had the audacity and this time I was going to let my Dad take action. Next time he wasn't going to mess with me.

The thought of Vivian not calling to check up on me was so disturbing. Just then I got another call and I was surprised it was Vivian calling.

“Hey girl, how have you been?” She asked.

“Well, I'm not fine, you owe me an apology.” I said,

“I know right, I was supposed to check up on you my friend, pardon me for not doing that.” She said,

I sighed heavily. I was still angry about how Mason had harassed me but as Vivian apologized to me it made me calm for a while.

“It's fine, I get you must have been busy. I had a lot I wanted to talk to you about.” I said.

“What's that?” Vivian asked, curiously.

“Well, guess who I saw today.” I said.

“You know I'm not too good at guessing, who was it?” She asked.

“Mason, I went to the gym today and I was surprised to see him. He tried to do some things with me but my cousin brother stopped him. I don't know what mason would have done if it wasn't for him.” I explained everything that happened in detail for her as I tried to keep my emotions in check.

Vivian was surprised. “Mason did that” she was surprised.

I sighed heavily. “I'm just so confused, he was literally forcing himself on me.”

“If Tiffany was to hear about this I don't know what she would do.” Vivian said,

“I don't care about what she will do. If she tries anything I will deal with her, it was her Mason who forced himself on me.” I said.

Vivian assured me over the phone call. “So sorry about that, it's terrifying, what are you going to do about it now.”

“I think my Dad will do something about it and I don't want to know what he's going to do but I'm sure Mason will be dealt with.” I said, smiling.

We talked for a long time. We forgot about my encounter with Mason this time. We made a lot of plans on what we will do when I get back. After sometime the line went dead as we said our goodbyes. I was relieved that I finally spoke to her.

Joanna and Rachel were on the bed pressing their phone. “Hey girls, hope I didn't take a long time making that call.”

“You actually did.” Rachel said, “So what are we going to do, I'm not feeling sleepy.”

I smiled, I was guilty because I took too much time talking to Vivian. “Don't mind me, I've not heard from her for a long time.”

“It's fine.” They said, exchanging a look. “We can watch a movie right? Let's do something together.” Joanna said.

It was a great idea. “I will go get some popcorn while you guys should pick the movie you want us to watch.”

They both nodded, enthusiastically. Looking at them one might think they are twins.

Rachel was excited. “Joanna, you can go make the popcorn with her while I stay here to look for the movie.”

We left her to check for the movie she wanted us to watch as we headed to the kitchen. “So you know how to make popcorn?” Joanna asked.

“Yeah, it's not something difficult, I learnt it from my mom.” I said, I was talking about Olivia.

While we made the popcorn we laughed while chatting. The encounter I had with Mason was all gone since it was now replaced by the joy of spending more time with my cousins.

After we were done making the popcorn, Michael Walked in. “I knew it, I was right.”

“What's that all about?” I asked.

“I told them I could perceive the scent of made popcorn but they thought I was lying. Can I have some?” He asked,

“Sure.” I said,

I gave him some and he munched on the popcorn. “You're so good.” He said, giving me a thumbs up before leaving the kitchen.

Just when we were about to leave the kitchen we met Olivia in the corridor. “You both are still awake?” She asked.

“Yeah, we will be having a movie night in our room so we decided to make this popcorn.” Joanna said,

“You guys shouldn't stay awake throughout the night, okay? Make sure you have a proper rest.” Olivia said,

“We will,” I said.

Tomorrow was the day she will be married to my Dad and I was so happy for her.

She was looking so beautiful even without makeup. “Seems you're too happy.”

“I know right, the thought that I will be getting married tomorrow is not making me sleepy.” She said,

We turned to leave for our room. “Goodnight.” Olivia said, we waved at her as we walked back to the room.

“It's nice we're doing this.” I said,

Rachel was still searching we were going to watch. “Hey, how long is that going to take?” I asked.

We finally got what to watch, we sat on the bed, our gaze fixed on the Television. We took a bite in the popcorn as we munched the freshly made, hot popcorn.

The popcorn was salty and sweet, it was nice to be around Joanna and Rachel and the soft glow of the TV.
