Chapter 87: Search for Olivia

Davis Pov

The house was in chaos. Everyone was worried about Olivia. “What did he want with her?” Caleb asked. I kept pacing back and forth in the living room. My mind racing with what Marcus must have done to Olivia.

“I hope she's safe.” Caleb said, tapping Olivia at her back. We continued to hope that Marcus would give into our threat and bring her back.

My mind kept racing with possibilities as I couldn't think straight.

“He didn't tell you where we will be picking her up?” Caleb asked.

“Nothing yet, he just told me to make sure I don't tell his mother what is going on.” I said.

“We really need to find her.” Cakeb said.

Not long after he said that, the doorbell rang. I went to open the door. A police officer came in. “We're very sorry sir, we are shocked that one of our officers did this, we'll make sure we get him, we just traced the location of the unknown number.” He said.

I was a little bit relieved.

“Dad, I'm scared of Olivia getting hurt.” Emily said.

“You don't need to be scared sweetie, we'll make sure she comes back alive.” I said.

Emily's Pov

I was scared that something bad was going to happen to Olivia. “Everything will be fine,” Rachel tapped my back, assuring me. It was strange I didn't feel bad when she said that to me. I just nodded.

My stomach twisted with anxiety. I walked to my room. It was the first time I knelt down to pray to God. “You have to bring her back to me.” I muttered.

I took a deep breath, I could feel I'm hungry but I didn't have an appetite to eat. “I won't eat not until Olivia is back.”

I rolled on my bed. Brought out my brush and paint. I stared at the empty paper placed on the drawing board for a while. I started drawing. As I painted, my emotions flowed. I poured my emotions into the drawing. I first of all drew Olivia's face, with her shiny blue eyes. I painted all I felt she's feeling at the time. I painted her smile, her fear and her tears and I didn't forget to paint how desperate I needed her to come back home. I wasn't conscious when I was drawing that, I just drew anything. Now I was left with my prayer and painting.

“She will come back to me, I can feel it.” I muttered.

Painting always makes me feel calm, a sense of calmness washed over me as I held the brush. That was one of the ways I could channel my emotions that works for me. In the drawing Olivia was staring at me, it was just as if her eyes were pleading for help. I knew I had to continue praying, I won't stop praying until Olivia was back. I got up from the chair I sat to draw, looking at the painting only gave me more inspiration.

I walked back to the living room only to meet Jasmine sitting on the couch. I wondered what she was still going around. “You're still here? I asked

“Yeah,” she said.

“Why did you decide to tell us about this, aren't you scared your boyfriend will go to jail?” I asked.

“He broke up with me because of Olivia,he said she's the only person he can be with.” Jasmine said.

“Wow, that's heartbreaking. Since when were you both dating.”

“It's been years and when I went to his house yesterday, immediately I walked in I saw him hiding something, I suspected he was plotting something and when I asked he only told me it was a case he was handling. I didn't believe him so I had to check myself and when I saw that he broke up with me telling me he never loved me. I had to go to his house this morning to beg him to take me back but he wasn't around. So I saw the note on his bed. He must have slept holding that note in his hand and thinking about his wicked plot. He cares only about himself. I never knew I'd be dating a monster.” Jasmine sighed.

“Wow that's a lot.” I muttered. “Do you still love him?”

She nodded, “Yes, but I don't want to have anything to do with him anymore.”

“But you're still in love with him, do you know he never loved you all this while?” I asked.

Jasmine started crying. “I have no idea he was still in love with Olivia, he told me it was just a crush but he doesn't feel that way for her again so I didn't bother. I always feel butterflies in my belly when I'm around him, I still can't believe that things have ended between us.”

My cousin's and I sat beside Jasmine, we did all we could to console her. She was crying uncontrollably, Marcus must be a monster, why will he do this to her. “You'll be fine, you deserve better.” I muttered.

Jasmine just nodded. “You guys are so lovely.” She said, whipping her tears. “I was just blinded by love all this while.”

“Don't feel bad all you did was to love him, the fact he didn't love you doesn't mean you should feel bad, loving him wasn't a weakness at all but a strength.” I said.

Jasmine and my cousins looked at me with shock. “Really, did you just say all of this?” Rachel asked.

“I'm also shocked, she talks like an adult.” Jasmine said.

I smiled. “I’m an adult.”

They all laughed. “You're not anywhere close to being an adult, you're just a young teenager.” Jasmine said.

“That's where you're mistaken, you all can see it the way you want but you know I've been through a lot in this life and I've seen a lot. One thing you guys don't know is that age doesn't define maturity.” I paused. The only thing that defines maturity is experience and I've been through that.”

“She's really deep.” Rachel said. They were all looking at me with respect.

“Nah, you don't have to give me that look.” I said, smiling.

“Having a cousin like you is an inspiration.” Rachel said. She's The only one who has been talking. Everyone knows she talks a lot.

We all sat in silence, not knowing what awaits us. All we hoped for was the safe return of Olivia.

Just then, Rebbeca rushed into the house. It seems she had no idea what was going on. “Where is your Dad?” She shouted.

“Calm down, what is going on?” I asked.

“It's the office, there's a problem in the office.” She said, “Where is he?”

“Seems there are a lot of things to deal with, Olivia was kidnapped, they went to rescue her.” I said.

Rebbeca's mouth was wide open. “What? Not a day to her wedding.”

“Marcus did all of that, he's not in support of Olivia getting married to my Dad.” I said.

“This is serious, I think the issue in the office can wait. Do you have any idea of the road they took? I have to go with them.” Rebecca said.

“No you can't, it's dangerous.” I said.

But Rebbeca insisted I tell her the way they took while leaving the house.
