Chapter 80: Wedding Serenade
Olivia's Pov
Rebbeca and I were becoming close, we planned the different trip we were going to before the wedding. I was sipping coffee while we made the plan. She was doing her part as the bridesmaid in my wedding.
“What about a beach vacation?” Rebbeca said.
I thought about that. It was a good idea. Somewhere with white sand and crystal clear water. I couldn't wait for Emily to be back. “A bachelorette party won't be bad.”
“I love that, the party will be a good idea. Other bridesmaids will also be there and we'll be having a great time together.” Rebbeca said,
“Emily will be back tomorrow, the joy in her voice when she called me. She's really happy I'm getting married to her Dad.” I said,
“You know, that's what she always wanted since she was a kid, you finally fulfilled your promise to make her happy again.” Rebbeca said,
I smiled. “I know right, I heard her having a conversation with Davis that the Mason guy the girls in the school are all falling for wasn't moving her anymore, she was like she wants to focus on her music career and break records before she leaves the school.”
“She's really a smart girl.” Rebecca said,
The look on Rebbeca's face changed. “I have to tell you something.”
I wondered what it was.”What is it?”
“I saw Davis having a conversation with Lisa yesterday, I don't know what it's all about and I just thought I should let you know.” Rebecca said, her voice barely above a whisper.
That was a bombshell. “I thought he was over her already.”
“I really don't know what it was about but I think you should talk to him about it.” she said, “And she was with her baby, Davis held the baby in his arms before leaving.”
“What? Hope it's not what I'm thinking.” I muttered.
“And what are you thinking?” Davis asked from behind.
“How long have you been standing there?” Rebbeca asked.
“You don't need to give me that look, I heard everything, no doubt I was with Lisa and I was going to tell Olivia, next time you shouldn't intrude into some things. I was supposed to tell her myself.” Davis said,
Rebbeca knew she had been caught. “I just thought I should let her know I didn't mean it the other way.”
Davis sighed. “It's fine, I understand, can you leave us for some minutes.”
Rebbeca left, entering the house. Davis turned to me. “You don't have to think that way, she needed help.”
I looked at him curiously before he continued talking. “Yes, she said that her son was having an illness, she needed a lot of money to treat the illness and the inky persin she could think of for help was me.”
He paused, looking at my face. “So that was all about our meeting and I wanted to let you know before I take any action don't think it's something more than that.”
I kissed him softly and just then we heard someone coughing. We turned and we were surprised to see Emily. I jumped from where I was sitting to hug her. “I really miss you, you told us you'd be back tomorrow.”
“Yeah, I wanted to surprise you guys.” Emily said,
Davis stood up to hug her. “So how is school, sir here, tell me all I need to know.”
Emily laughed. “Come on Dad, I should freshen up, it was a long journey and I'm stressed.”
“My bad, when you're done resting I will be waiting for you.” Davis said,
“I didn't know you missed me this much. It's barely a month and you're missing me already. What if I leave for a year?” Emily asked, rolling her eyes.
“Well thank goodness I don't have to wait for that long before seeing you.” Davis said.
Emily's Pov
I walked into the house. Rebbeca was so happy to see. She hugged me tightly. “You're becoming fat, you should watch your weight.” She said,
I knew she was saying the truth and I had to do something about that. “What can I do to reduce it?”
“Go upstairs, freshen up and make sure you have a peaceful nap then come down the stairs in the evening I will take you to the gym.” Rebbeca said.
“Gym? Do I have to go there?” I asked.
She nodded. “Of course, you have to accept that you want to get obsessed.”
“No way, I can't let that happen.” I said, rolling my eyes.
“Then you shouldn't complain about not wanting to go to the gym. You have to start from somewhere, I don't want you to lose your body shape.” Rebbeca said,
I nodded. “Alright, I will be going to my room now.”
I knew I had been neglecting my body fitness lately and I need to do something about that.
As I walked into my room, it was properly arranged. I can remember how scattered I had left the room the day I was leaving home for school. My bed was properly laid with a new spread, my paintings were still displayed on the walls. I touched the painting of my mom. “Dad is getting married and he's gonna be happy again.” I muttered.
I removed my shoes and changed after taking my bath. It was good to be home.
I was surrounded with familiar things unlike school. A part of me wished my mom was still alive. I thought about my father's wedding and I hoped it would be the best for him. I want him to be happy.
Still looking round my room, the book on the table, the paintings on the wall with my mom smiling in the portrait. “This makes me feel better.” I muttered.
Just as I was about to sleep, Someone knocked on the door, “Come In.” I said.
Rebbeca walked in, “Sorry, I didn't know you were about to sleep already, I have some gossip to share.”
I laughed. “You always make me laugh, alright, what is it?”
“I heard your Davis telling Olivia that they were going to start a music band for you.” Rebecca said, in a low tone.
“Were you eavesdropping on their conversation?” I asked.
“Well I was bored, so I thought listening to them would be better.” she said, rolling her eyes.
“This is really crazy, I had no idea they would take my music career seriously.” I said, happily. I wasn't feeling sleepy anymore.
“I was happy to hear that and I couldn't wait to share it to you but don't let them know you know about it already.” Rebecca said,
I agreed to that. It was so sweet of Olivia and Davis to take things concerning me seriously but it was a whole different level this time around. “I'm impressed. You know, I planned on singing for their wedding, that's the gift I got for them, I wrote a song.”
I brought out the book from my small mini bag. “You wrote this?” Rebecca said, with a surprised expression. Her mouth was wide open.
“This is the best gift I can give to them for now.” I said, smiling. Rebbeca gazes were still fixed on me.
